An ancient Black Flag sketch that I don’t think I ever got around to sharing on here. Happy Resynced release day!
I didn’t know how long I should have waited to post this but screw it HAPPY HALLOWEEN GUYS!!
firenze's peacock
‘It’s nice. I didn’t knew you know how to play lute.’
‘I did not. My mother suggested it month ago. You now how she likes art.’
‘Si, she does. But something in your voice tells me, you don’t enjoy this much, amico mio.’
‘I do, but my father has different expectations from me. I need to learn how to be a banker, not musician.’
‘Capisco… And you don’t want to let down your mother. You love her very much.’
‘Nothing can hide from you, Leo. You are right. But maybe I found the alternative: Petruccio is more artistic soul than me. He could learn some music, maybe even the fine arts, mother would be amazed.’
‘That sounds good. If you don’t mind, I could teach your little brother some painting. Of course if he will be interested.’
‘Grazie, Leonardo. I am so glad to have you.’
‘So am I, Ezio. So am I.’ _ kinkyreaver said: would you mind doing some young Ezio and Leonardo stuff?
I often think about this Ezio and Yusuf conversation, when Ezio mentions he learned to play lute when he was young. And why this could have happened.
desmond miles is so special to me he’s my sweet little man like he’s independent and brave and kind and he decided he didn’t want the life he was forced into and he struck out on his own at the tender age of 16 and built a whole life for himself. the man had a steady job, was paying rent, was financially stable enough to buy himself a motorcycle with literally ZERO blueprint for how a normal person should be or what he needed to do and no parental or financial support he just figured it out. i’m just really proud of him. i mean i know it did fail but that was because of templar interference, wasn’t really on him. and then after he gets forced right back into what he tried so hard to escape he just gives everything he has to protecting and helping people. he sacrifices his body and puts himself in physical and mental danger and literally risks his sanity every time he goes into the animus but he does it anyway because he knows people need it. like lucy gave him the option to cop out and go back to the life he built but he stayed and put himself through all this danger and trauma and he didn’t even turn into one of the broody dark characters which honestly would’ve been justified, bury instead he just stays upbeat and jokes around and tries to keep everyone’s morale up he’s just such a good boy. he just goes through so so much and he never falters or gives up and then he has to die at 25 to save the world and even that was a choice. he had the option to cop out again, to be safe and emerge with so much power and influence and a whole blank world to mold however he wanted and he STILL chose to sacrifice himself without hesitation because he refused to let so many people die and because he had so much faith and trust in his friends that he just believed they could stop juno. he just has so much capacity for love and faith and hope no matter what and i love him so much

Some Levantine Assassin uniforms
Malik and Altaïr are some of the few Assassins we see with this particular outfit, with the long white robes and white sleeves and mantle, a large belt covering the area between the midpoint of the ribcage to the stomach and covering a red sash, and no dark outerwear.
Kadar, on the other hand, wears the most commonly seen Assassin outfit: short white robes, a much narrower belt and red sash, with a dark grey mantle and sleeves. there's also another short robe variant, with white sleeves and a white mantle.
there's another type of uniform, usually worn by informants (and presumably other, non-combat Assassins?), that just consists of long robes, small belts and horizontal red sashes, and thin leather straps around the shoulder that the other Assassins wear. these robes come in a wide variety of shades between white, gray, and black.
then there's the outfits we see the rafiks (along with a BUNCH of guys in Masyaf town) wear, which is also somewhat similar to Al Mualim's outfit: the long white robes with white sleeves and a white mantle, wide belt, horizontal and vertical red sash, with a dark black/dark navy blue long coat on top.
and then. there's these guys, who wear an inverse of the 'rafik' outfit, with dark black plain robes, a narrow red sash, and a bright white outer robe with hood on top. they're annoying difficult to get a picture of ftr.
and finally, there's Al Mualim, who gets a fancier version of the rafik robes.
I assume these uniforms depend on an Assassin's rank, and likely socioeconomic status as well.
Wikipedia does have lists of Ismaili titles, including some Alamut period ones, but doesn't really explain in-depth what these titles would mean in-practice. like okay, assuming outfits correspond perfectly to those titles, let's assume the rafik (رفیق) outfit is the white robes under the dark outer coat, and the fidai (فدائی) uniform is the short white robes, including both the white and dark sleeve and mantle variants. Al Mualim is the only dai (داعی) around, so that's easy. but what about Altaïr's long white robes, and the scholars' dark robes and white overcoat? are the scholars the ones that lasiq (لاصق) might refer to? what does lasiq mean anyway? I can't find anything tangible other than Wikipedia's saying that they had to swear an oath to the imam. is Altaïr a lasiq or a fidai? was Malik the same rank as Altaïr before losing his arm, assuming rafik is either a promotion or peer rank?
questions, questions. if anyone knows Arabic, is Ismaili, or really has any knowledge in general here, I'd love your input!
Day 18: Bureau
Even the Dai of Jerusalem needs some rest.
And so do I
Beach day 4/5!
Altaïr deserves to have some non-water related fun, and Desmond is more than happy to be there with him.
