Chicago

My city is a burden. blind and trapped in the closet.

behind the curtains. Sometimes I feel like i’m losing it.

For so many of my peers Represent Chi-raq like that name serves a purpose beyond a mother tears

Yet they submit to a warzone for the reason I am uncertain I think the name Chi-raq is unfit

Because when I think of Chicago I think of it like first kiss born from her style and her wit I think of a beauty unmatched in reality while they focus in on her tragedy

When I see her… I see new vision But I know she is saddened by her poor description I won't rest till I hear she feels the waves of love and all the city listens.

I visited a space with the Sweet Water Foundation for a class field trip and we learned about hydroponics, plants living without soil only growing in water.

My Blue Note Experiment...

I am an artist currently going to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for my BFA in photography and being in the city that is so well known for its jazz scene has influenced the art that I practice here. -Katie K. (Chicago)
