I cherish every moment with my family. Im proud to say I am Lovie’s granddaughter. It means I have the strength, courage, and bravery to build a legacy. My grandma left Arkansas and started a whole new life in the big city of Dallas. She got a job working at Texas Instruments right out of high school and never looked back. She raised her family and looked out for her siblings and their kids and really is the glue, the love. A year ago, I was planning events, substitute teaching, real estating, and studying to finish my masters. I just discovered I was on the high functioning end of the Autism Spectrum, after committing to working on better relationships. I remember feeling as if suddenly I understand why people had been laughing at me. I felt anger towards my family and “friends” for never noticing and writing it off as bad behavior. 😤 Yet I hopped into therapy and began to do my best to understand social relationships. 😷 Then Covid 🤯 Event planning out the window, Real estate paused, substitute paused. My masters continued and my work on myself continued. Dallas shutdown and I almost lost my mind so I went to Arizona, then back to Dallas with my grandma because pandemic stress led her to have a stroke. I focused on finishing school and launching @growsureez and this has been my second biggest challenge. The first: relationships. Not just romantic, all of them. I am grateful for the 2020 shutdown because it forced me to learn my differences and challenged me to get to learn how to communicate with people who do not think like me. I learned above all that peace comes from accepting the differences in our own lives and the lives of others. Otherwise ya stressed angry and fighting folks for no real reason 🤷🏽‍♀️ I will hop off the soapbox now... I was never a huge fan of sushi 🍱 As a kid the idea of eating anything raw seemed like a really bad Idea. When I stepped out on faith and became a flight attendant, in 2014, I spent more time in Japan and my perspective changed. It changed when I went to Okinawa. I saw how the oldest people on this planet actually live and what they eat(foods they grow). I knew I needed to dig deeper to really understand what we eat and why... and it was then my desire and passion became aligned. Fast forward ⏩ 5 years and I just eat different.
