@destiny-smasher
the dumb crossover no one asked for :“))))
Lowkey the history if Tumblr ngl lol (said with tongue in check don’t get pissy with me)
This applies to so many situations you’ll find on social media these days lol
Basically every time I see a new “internet controversy” I need to look up if it’s n ACTUL controversy or if it’s the above lol
And this is why SOME online spaces being ‘the public square’ is important - letting younger people work shit out (together!) but allowing for older people to help put things in broader or more accurate context for them, too. Both sides of the “age gap” get some perspective.
I’m of the mind that very young folks should NOT have constant access to social media ALL the time from their POCKET but they NEED public spaces of SOME kind and capitalism has fucking robbed them of basically all physical ones, sooooo
something about Toy Story toys is so strange to me. versions of animated characters based on real world toys, turned back into toys that are slightly different than the actual toys. slinky dog with a rubber spiral instead of a classic metal slinky. the porcelain bo peep and cloth woody turned into jointed plastic action figures. when toy story 4 came out and i saw a $30 talking action figure of forky, a character made out of a spork and a pipe cleaner, i stood in the walmart toy aisle staring at it like cameron from ferris bueller's day off staring at that painting in the art museum
This is a slow fandom zone
None of that "Oh no they bomb-dropped all the episodes in a week 1 month ago, I'm late!" "The tag hasn't been active all week is the fandom dead?" "I only got a hundred shares the first hour no one cares about my art"
Slow down
Take a deep breath and slow down
Fandom is YOU. And me and everyone. If we doodle stick figures for a show that ended 30 years ago we aren't "late" or "doing too little", we're playing dolls in our own time and having fun with works of art that mean a lot to us
You can literally watch and engage with something that aired in 2004 as if it aired yesterday
If the tag hasn't been active for 14 months guess what? If YOU post there, it isn't dead. Literally you can talk about anything you want whenever you want there is no weird law against watching things that people aren't actively talk about
Let's be deranged about stories together
HELLO!!!! Almost 1 year and I complety forgot about her, Team Star Leader Nemona! (Electric type)
There are a couple of differences from the original design, mostly because I exaggerated the hair, but I feel like that made the design more fun to draw. I want to make more content of her, so I've made a separate tag if you want to follow it!
Original post
Hell yeah! I remember using this design to inspire some Penny art last year.
It’s such a fun reimagining of Nemona.
happy yuri day
Oh you think you're so cool posing like that huh
Operation Comet Punch: Chapter 49
Continuing the flashback sequence:
Nemona hosts dinner-and-a-battle with Scarlet Koito, a recently appointed new Champion of Paldea, on a fateful evening years ago, two months after the Area Zero Incident. She works herself up to the big moment…
Happy Pride!
Not to be snobby/elitist but influencers need to remain in their own separate lane and I’ve never been more serious about that… you are not a real music critic because you review albums on your popular YouTube channel, in the same way I’m not looking at the top Goodreads reviews or going on booktok for genuine literary criticism. I saw some quote recently from an influencer who was interviewing celebrities on a red carpet and she said something along the lines of “fans want to see people like us talking to their favs as if we were their friends!” and it’s like…okay? But I actually want interviews with actual trained reporters, too. Which is not to say there’s no value in some of what influencers are doing…The woman who asks celebs silly, low stakes questions over takeout chicken is a cute addition to any press cycle. But she’s not a reporter, and what she’s doing is not actual journalism. Influencers with huge platforms should feel proud of themselves for building something that clearly resonates with people, but for any of them to claim to be “top of the field,” above people with like, actual education and qualifications and years of experience at their job, is just ludicrous. You are the natural successor to the Buzzfeed listicle. You are not “the only relevant music critic today.” Be so fucking serious.
Your own person, all along
“isn’t she lovely?”
I mean she was an asshole that actively made bad choices via repeated toxic behavior and actively hurt the people around her by being an immature little shitbag that caused great needless pain to herself and those specifically trying to support her, all, because she lacked the maturity to be HONEST with those who cared about her and REFUSED to grow or change in ANY positive way,
so uh
NO
‘but the trans metaphor stuff!!!’
Being queer does NOT exempt you from making shitty choices that hurt the people around you.
Same for having trauma.
Same for physical illness.
Same for bad parents.
And so on.
Working toward redemption is a process. Either work toward it or don’t.
Hers is a tragedy but a preventable one and thus a cautionary tale - don’t be like her.
Don’t tolerate others being like her for prolonged periods of time.
BE THERE for people like her, BUT
DO NOT romanticize her behavior.
DO NOT act like her behavior was acceptable.
DO NOT feel obligated to forgive people like her just because of their circumstances.
It’s always a CHOICE.
Either you make the choice to grow and improve… or you don’t.
Forgot to mention a few days ago as I needed a bit of time to process -- and I'm still on the lookout for full completion -- but I rolled credits on Mina the Hollower, the first completely NEW game by the developers of Shovel Knight since they wrapped up the multi-game series for that first outing. And. Yeah. It's fucking fantastic. Another knockout indie effort up there in the same vein as Shovel Knight itself was and still is.
Shovel Knight was essentially a take on 'NES Mega Man platformer' like gameplay. Mina is like. Game Boy Color era stuff, specifically the trio of Zelda games that released on GB/GBC. But it has the extra wrinkles of working in elements from retro Castlevania and Bloodborne, as well. Not just aesthetically but mechanically, too.
Like Shovel Knight, it takes a single core mechanics and manages to wring out a LOT of level design wrinkles with it, repeatedly making you rethink how you engage with said core mechanic, and doing the whole 'ramping up the complexity' at perfect pacing.
Like what you'd expect of a modern soulslike, it also has a LOT of unlockable modifiers you equip, which can be combined with four different core weapons to create a nice variety of playstyles. It's even technically an open world game in that unlike retro Zelda, none of the progression is 'locked' behind needing a specific tool or anything. It's literally like, 'do you understand the mechanics and possess the means to go there' and thus you can tackle its multiple regions in whatever order you like, save for the last two. I
t was a tidy 20 hours to roll credits and reach 68% completion. One of the highest quality games I've played in a while, which has become a trend of late with other indie bangers over the last year just nailing things so damn well.
But like Silksong and Hades 2, it's an amazing followup to the respective studio's previous work. I highly recommend it if you've been in the mood for a new top-down Zelda like. It's amazing, a worthy successor that lives up to the legacy of the genre and modernizes it wonderfully.
We love randomly getting a comment like this on a one million word fic finished just over a decade ago on the same day we explain the gist of the fic to a friend and warn them 'please don't read it, it's too cringe for 30+ folks'
Genuinely, we LOVE this lol
Bless the rare few ACTUAL human beings taking the time to leave ACTUAL comments.
Operation Comet Punch: Chapter 48
Continuing the current flashback sequence,
Nemona works up the guts to ask Scarlet out on a dinner date so she can confess her feelings. While visiting the Koito household to do so, she uncovers some bits of backstory, including a curious artifact...
No way it’s that easy
