Here are the old designs! Quite pleased with how the silhouettes were refined. I wish I would have been able to keep the male Peacrown’s tail feathers splayed, but I remember not quite being able to figure out a look that I liked. It was also kind of hard to make them look different from the Pidove line from generation 5 but I think the deep blues and teals do a good job. Pompreen’s facial plumage also evokes a masquerade mask, as if it were attending a costume party.

My upcoming Caine & Gangle bonding comic:

Gangle wants to learn how to properly conjure grass. Caine attempts to teach her, and Gangle attempts to art direct him.

They are both normal artists who have normal relationships with their art. They are normal about managing people & normal about taking criticism. They do not take things too personally or have deep personal trauma that would cause them to view criticism of their art as an existential threat to their very life. Caine is a normal art teacher and Gangle is a normal art student. All they're trying to do is make a simple grassy meadow. How cozy— how wholesome! Ghibli-core! How sweet and cute! Nothing will go wrong! Everything will be fine! Everything HAS to be fine!!!!!
