“Being sick is the worst...I still don’t want to move...”

It was rare that someone interrupted her work, rare because she tended to work late at night and usually on out of the way wall, but when it did happen, Mal barely gave more than a passing glance.

“I’ll take the compliment.” She called out through a grin, her index ever on the spray can’s nozzle. After a moment or two, Mal stepped back to admire the seascape she’d painted. "But nah.“ She crossed her arms and scrunched her nose at him. ”I’ve gotten in trouble before for it, but I’ve never really been a rule follower.“ Then a thought hits.

”You… Aren’t going to tell, are you, pretty boy?“

It was a nice seascape. Especially considering it was done with spray paint on a wall instead of paint on canvas or something. Not that Riku knew much about art. It had never really been his thing.

“No I’m not going to tell.” He crossed his arms as he looked at the painting. “Even if I was going to, I wouldn’t know who to tell anyway. Besides, this place looks like it could use a new coat of paint.”

Then he paused. “....Pretty boy?”

The little child blinked at the other, trying to snap the sleep from her eyes. Maria wasn’t sure how it had gotten so late, and so cold. Brown, fluffy hair shaken and Maria refocused on the other. “Maria is just.. tired uuu.”

“Tired?” It was getting rather late. Honestly, he was surprised she was out so late at night. “So you’re name’s Maria, then? I’m Riku. Why are you out so late? Are you lost?” Not that he would be any help if she was.

“...Not that it isn’t good....but are you supposed to be painting the walls like that?” Riku had to figure spray painting walls was considered vandalism here as much as it was back on the islands. Not that many people spray painted walls on the islands.

“Are you okay?” Riku asked. He had bumped into the little girl but his quick reflexes saved her from tumbling down to the ground. “Sorry about that.” He helped her right herself the knelt down to her level.

Showing up in new worlds wasn’t strange for Riku. Honestly, it was all too normal and he really just wanted to find who he was looking for and go home. He missed being able to actually hang out with his friends, something he hadn’t been able to do in the past two years. A break would be nice. But here he was in a new world with no recollection of getting there and being mostly certain it wasn’t the Realm of Darkness, which was where he meant to go.

Or maybe it was the Realm of Darkness and it was just taking on a different form this time. He didn’t know. All he knew was that he needed to find Mickey (they seemed to have gotten separated somehow) and Master Aqua and get out. As he wandered around the city, though, he started to doubt that leaving was a real possibility.

“Guess I’m stuck here for now...” He was slowly getting his bearings, though the city was much bigger than he had hoped it would be. He’d never really been a fan of big cities. Tired of walking, he found a place to sit and sat down, crossing his arms and looking out over the people. Maybe he looked a little pissed off, but honestly, that was just his face.
