As a huge fan of the anime Bleach, and an even bigger fan of Kuchiki Rukia, I really wanted to draw her. I’ve been working on this drawing on and off in-between commissions, and finally finished it yesterday. It’s really been a project that I’ve poured a lot of love into as I think Rukia really is a character that deserves recognition. She’s strong, kind, and incredibly loyal to her friends & family. She’s been tested again and again, and has continued fighting her way forwards through any obstacle thrown in her path. I wanted to show her when she was imprisoned in Soul Society, awaiting her death sentence. That even though she was all alone, she was not defeated or broken, and she stood strong no matter the pain. She believed she did the right thing in saving Ichigo’s life, and continued to protect his life even at the cost of hers. …yeah, she really is my favourite female anime character.
