The Next-door Factory, 2021 Thailand is an unplanned zoning country especially, Bangkok, the capital city which is so messy. It is very normal if you see a motorcycle garage next to a restaurant and it even has a small factory next to your door! On the other hand, If we take a benefit from this unplanning city, it means we can design and make yourself furniture or products from your next-door factory. In this project, I explore bending galvanised steel that makes a different kind of shapes and joints them with stud bolts that can be made in the micro-factory around Bangkok.

Imperfect Benjarong, 2021

Benjarong is a traditional form of Thai porcelain. The style of multi-coloured enamels on a white porcelain base came from Ming dynasty China.

Normally, the perception of Benjarong is as a precious gift more than tableware because of its perfection, delicate hand-painting and round shape, then it always ends up in a showcase.

I would like to change the people mindset about it by adding imperfection and design a new friendly shape to make it an everyday product as a set of cups.
