“I left behind my old city with a case I couldn't quite close in hopes of getting away to a place that felt more like a coffin.”
Welcome! Feel free to ask away!
I saw only the pinned post and it looks like you need a hug.
Do you need a hug?
I feel like you do.
“Hm? Oh! I’m…well not fine fine but I’m fine now but thank you for the concern…I really do appreciate it.” She does move to accept the hug in question though. It’s kind of hard to get over losing someone she is- was…was close to.
OOC: HI! HIHI HELLO! Mod here I’m finally reviving this blog after….forever- but asks are open as always I beg pleasepleaseplease. They can be set at anytime if you just want to specify when
“That’s really sweet…” Drift whispers, nuzzling back with a gentle smile. She’s glad Ria came, she would have hated doing all this just for the other to not show. The detective hugging the other closer. “I’ve been using the bookmark, sorry I haven’t had a chance to respond to your last letter…”
“But do you…like what I did with the area? I wanted it to look nice and may have gotten carried away…slightly” Drift’s voice is just as soft, as the first time.
🌱Valeria couldn't help but chuckle a tiny bit as she felt them nuzzle her back, a soft rumble leaving her as she listened. Hearing that she was using their bookmark, their gaze softened as she smiled slightly at that. At their apology, she brought a hand up to cradle her cheek as she lifted their head to look up at them. "It's alright, I'm just glad to hear you like it and have been using it... And I adore what you've done... It looks beautiful, almost as beautiful as you... But then again, it's hard for anything to compare to you." They murmured, their own voice equally as soft and low as that night in the gardens with her.
Drift blinks, pressing into her palm against their cheek what else could she do but enjoy such a moment. Especially with how much work they’d put into the area, ears pricking upwards at the soft words. It’s an easy movement to allow her gaze to be lifted to meet Valeria’s. The detective almost sheepish as that eye contact is quickly broken and she’s glancing sideways. “Well- y’know…I just-…I’m glad you like it…” What else is she meant to say amongst company the detective is so lucky to have.
Not in the sense she doesn’t deserve it but the whisper is there, something about failing Valeria the same way they’ve failed back in the city. She doesn’t want to go through that feeling again.
“Scoooottttt!”
The voice calls, sliding open the door of the apartment before shutting it behind them. Drift, and while yes it’s been a while she’s still roughly the same as always, black jacket, red shirt, white hair. Be that as it may they’ve come rather unannounced for a visit.
- @detective-drift
Scott's ears perked up in surprise when he heard Drift suddenly barging in through the door, walking out from the kitchen and into the living room where Drift was, a blood popsicle in his mouth. He smiled, taking it and holding said popsicle in his hand instead.
"Drift! Don't know you know vampires are meant to ask to come in?" He teased.
“Ahhhh semantics! But fine fine”
Taking the teasing in stride as she steps back outside of the threshold and makes show of knocking, door still wide open with a smile of their face. That particular rule only counts if it’s not someplace a vampire has a permanent invite to but Drift is perfectly happy to humor Scott.
“May I come in?”
𝐀𝐯𝐢𝐝'𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 - Event 2: Baking (Blood) Cookies
Across the kitchen there's all the normal supplies for making cookies, along with a few other, less normal cookie supplies, like bottles of blood. While Avid has found out that he can eat human food now it still feels a bit off, plus he knows most of his guests are vampires or at least something similar.
Avid is wearing an apron (unnecessary? Absolutely, he's still making a mess. But cute? Yes.) And measuring out the dry ingredients before he starts actually mixing anything.
There's a few other groups also doing something similar. Why does Avid have enough supplies for multiple people to be making batches of cookies? Unimportant! All that matters is that everyone seems to be enjoying themselves.
Drift hums, this she can do. It’s so much easier than trying to fiddle with any bracelets. Upon seeing Avid, in …is that an apron? It’s cute, he seems so focused…she almost feels bad for the way she shuffles through the baking area with a few bottles of blood to make her own batch of cookies.
Well she might as well do it with Avid right? That makes sense. “You’re making a mess you know.” That’s teasing, her tone light and airy as she leans forward from behind him.
The detective is grinning, white hair falling past her shoulders as she approaches quickly. Eager with a certain bounce in her step as she sprints towards the other.
“Avid! AvidAvidAvid!” She seems excited, grabbing his hand and squeezing before she’s hugging him. Drift was never very touchy but oh well, take what you can get.
“Hi! Hi hello, I got you something, bud”
- @detective-drift
Avid startles ever so slightly before also becoming excited, both because it's Drift and because she's excited. He hugs her back just kinda going with it.
"Hi hi hi Drifty!! Whatcha got for me??"
His tail is wagging and he's smiling wide.
“Well it isn’t really much but! With Christmas coming up and all I thought I’d give you one early” She explains, pulling back but keeping ahold of one of his hands. She’s still smiling, reaching into her jacket before procuring a neatly wrapped box.
“I know it’s early but I just couldn’t keep myself waiting any longer, dude”
Avid takes the box from Drift happily, slightly inspecting it before giving Drift a half hug, excited without even having to open the present.
"Aw, Drift! I have a few things for you too but I don't have any of them on my right nowww, I'll bring ya one as soon as I remember to though I promise!!"
Drift hugs back, of course she does, what else would she possibly do in this situation. “Awh, you didn’t have to get me anything, bud” She responds, squeezing him gently in the hug.
The detective is grinning, white hair falling past her shoulders as she approaches quickly. Eager with a certain bounce in her step as she sprints towards the other.

OOC//: UHM HELLO??? WHEN DID YALL GET HERE? WHAT?? How did I miss this… ANYWAYS HI! HELLO! I’m so glad y’all seemed to like this silly blog enough to follow it ^^ Enjoy your stay because I’m not leaving soon
Drift blinks, looking up at Estelle as the owl flies up to perch. Though the detectives attention is rather quickly taken back to the ribbon, her own hand moving up to lightly toy with the soft fabric before letting her touch fall to grab the other hand.
“Can’t a detective be nervous anyways? I haven’t done anything like this in a while…” There’s honesty there, she really hasn’t. A detective in her field…
She thought staying alone would protect more people.
“As for your question, I do like it, it- well I think it suits you…” Just as quickly as the words leave her the detective smiles, pulling the other in close into a kiss. “I missed you too, Ria…”
🌱 Had Valeria still had a heart beat, it would have gotten a bit faster at feeling the detective's hand come up to toy with the fabric of the ribbon tied delicately around her neck. Although she can't help the smile that graces her lips as the other take her other hand in theirs. Her gaze softens slightly as she listens to them, hands gently squeezing theirs as they didn't mind being pulled closer; she can't help but smile and kiss her back, a low hum leaving them as they press their forehead against theirs. "Mmm I suppose that's fair... It's been awhile for me as well... But I'm glad it's with you." They murmured softly as she listens, lightly rubbing their forehead against hers; brushing their nose against hers. Her gaze meeting theirs as they watch her. "I'm glad you like it... I've kept it on me since you sent it."
Drift was pacing, fidgeting with her sleeves and touching at whatever branch seemed even slightly out of place. She’s nervous, rightfully so, but at the sound of that voice.
She knows that voice. The way the nickname sends a shiver down her spine is familiar in the best way. Quite naturally when the detective hears it she stops her pacing and turns towards the origin.
“No-no you couldn’t ever be late” The response comes quickly, Drift’s nerves on display. She really was worried the other wouldn’t come. But they’re here, and she’s worried over nothing.
“You look nice…I didn’t expect you to wear the ribbon”
🌱 Estelle is here too of course, a soft hoot coming from over head as the owl lands nearby in a nearby perch. Valeria smiled a bit as she looked to her owl before focusing back on Drift. At the mention of the ribbon, her fingers drifted up to touch it, find comfort in it before letting her hand fall as she finally came to a stop in front of her. “Well, I figured it was worth the occasion. Do you like it?” She asked while tilting their head slightly, of course regardless of her answer; Val was just glad to see her… to hear her again. Their hand gently extending out towards them in a silent gesture for them to take.
“I missed you Drift.”
Stepping closer to the other, once they took her hand; she gently brought their hands up to kiss the back of their knuckles before focusing their gaze upon her once more.
“I made you a promise didn’t I? That no matter how long, or how far… I will always find my way to you.”
Drift blinks, looking up at Estelle as the owl flies up to perch. Though the detectives attention is rather quickly taken back to the ribbon, her own hand moving up to lightly toy with the soft fabric before letting her touch fall to grab the other hand.

CLOSED STARTER WITH @residents-of-oakhurst
Drift sighs, she hadn’t responded to the last letter, she got nervous and then everything happened…really all she’s hoping is that Ria would still show up to the fountain. The fountain that Drift may or may not have spent some extra time decorating.
She did…she wanted it to look nice. Fairy lights strung from branches, lanterns with the candles inside flickering. The detective even managed to get similar looking purple flowers that she added to the garden.
It isn’t perfect, she never claimed to be a good landscaper, but it’s better than one would expect since she only had a week to put it together.
Oh! And the food!! Sure they couldn’t eat normal picnic food but she learned a few things when she was cooking with Scott. It’s much nicer than just raw meat and blood bottles.
Drift is dressed nicer as well, newly white hair falling loose for once against dark grey fabric of a button up she borrowed from Scott’s wardrobe.
“Please…please show up…”
🌱They were very much still showing up, in fact... She had just arrived to the castle. Letting out a breath, she gently knocked and waited patiently. Of course she didn't have to wait long before Gabriel was opening the door for her, giving a small bow of their head. "Ah, you must be the guest Miss Drift was waiting for. Please, come in. I'm sure you know where you are going, but if not, through the main hall and the first right will lead you to the gardens." He offered while Valeria gave a small bow of her head in response, taking a small breath that she didn't need as she felt a small tingle run through her. Shaking her head to rid herself of it, this would be fine. She hadn't felt this way since... since Avid nearly died. Biting the inside of her cheek, she stopped just before the entrance of the gardens. Taking a moment to compose herself, and remind herself why she was here.
And who she was here for.
Her expression softened and a small smile tugged at their lips. Filled with new resolve, she made her way out to the gardens; her gaze shifting around in surprise at how different it looked. It took her a moment before her eyes landed on the figure standing in front of the fountain. Blinking a bit as she took in their appearance, the first thing they noticed was that her hair... had changed. But even so... Drift was still Drift. No matter what form she took. They looked... really good. After looking her over, she slowly closed the distance before speaking up.
"I hope I'm not too late, Princess."
Drift was pacing, fidgeting with her sleeves and touching at whatever branch seemed even slightly out of place. She’s nervous, rightfully so, but at the sound of that voice.

OOC: Now seems like an awful time to announce a break… but guys I’ve been going going going and I need one. Don’t worry the detective will be back tomorrow… (not really I just wanted to make that reference) BUT please do feel free to send asks I will get to them at some point.
With that being said…I’m not leaving this blog until my stories are done. Just because vsmp is over doesn’t mean we have to be.
“He would say that…”
Drift laughs softly after her words, quiet as they are.
"It did happen though. I don't know if any of my old friends are even alive anymore. But I still cherish those memories."
He chuckled before approaching the door.
"I know Shelby's not taking this well, Drift. I know you're not either. But... She's more so cause she could... feel it. The bond between a Sire and a Fledgling is the strongest. To put it into perspective... If any of the humans killed You, Pyro, Apo, or Cleo? I would hear and feel it all. I'm not going to let that happen. I've grown to like my fledglings that are actually enjoying this. That want to be here."
Drift pauses, freezing as he goes to open the door for them. Who is Scott to decide who has it worse? Sire and Fledgling bond be damned, aren’t both of them not taking it well?
Keep it together, Scott is only trying to help. Keep it together because it’s meant to be a girls night and she shouldn’t be upset right now. At least Scott won’t let anything happen to her or Shelby… that’s what she should focus on.
“Right…yeah, okay but that’s not the focus tonight right?”
“Right- yeah, girls night”
Drift mumbles, walking next to Scott still before they get to wherever she’s being led.
“Y’know I haven’t had a girl’s night in a while…being a detective isn’t exactly a place where you make girl friends or something”
"Last one I had was 800 years ago or so. The cape Avid wore was actually tie died as he put it by the blood of the victims of my last girl's night."
He chuckled lightly as he took Drift to that makeshift kitchen.
“He would say that…”
Drift laughs softly after her words, quiet as they are.
“You haven’t seen what I’ve seen…”
Drift mutters, pulling her free arm up to hug herself. People are still capable of being like the ones in Oakhurst after all.
“There’s good people out there though, so maybe it won’t be all bad”
"Hopefully. Know you'll always have a place in this manor. I'll probably just... stay here honestly."
He sighed more to himself as he walked with Drift.
"But no more sad thoughts. Girl's night is suppose to be fun."
“Right- yeah, girls night”
Drift mumbles, walking next to Scott still before they get to wherever she’s being led.
