happy pride month from vienna, here's a free sample of orson welles as chaser (?) harry lime to put in your dj sets. i do not recommend listening to the "lives of harry lime" radio show episode from which i took this cut, it's much better out of context.
i'm working on a track that will feature this sample but currently progress is stymied by how quickly my laptop crashes when i try to use ableton. probably i should just continue running around vienna gathering inspiration and make the track when i'm back home with my desktop computer...
i've formed the impression that harry lime would be a problematic ally/chaser who supports trans and genderfluid people because he thinks it's like being in on a scam.
there's at least one episode of the radio show (honestly i think 2 or 3, they re-used plot elements a lot) where he hooks up with a woman who used to be a thief he knew from the streets who is now living under a new, respectable identity (as a means of snagging a rich older male sponsor). it's a better trans allegory than the episode i sampled, but didn't have quite as juicy a one-liner to sample...
