I’m about to tell you three things you’re actually not. (7/7/15)

So proud of you, taylorswift. (x)
There’s a light in all of us.
People say all the time, “you need to spend some time to yourself, and figure out who you are”, and I never really understood it until it happened to me. And I woke up one day, and I just realized,
Oh, my. I haven't logged onto this account in ages, but... Hiiiii. Hope you're all well.

Do you think the saying "blood is thicker than water" could apply to Sarah in Orphan Black?
(on mobile, apologies for the lack of formatting)
It could apply, in the sense that Sarah is most loyal to her daughter, her blood relation, rather than…basically everyone else, even Felix. However, I’m pretty sure (I could be TOTALLY wrong) that the actual saying/quote is “the blood of the covenant (as in promise and/or organization) is thicker than the water of the womb” or some variation that basically means that relationships you choose to make are stronger than blood ties. (Nothing’s coming up when I search that saying, though. Any ideas, Lit Queen alisonisthegreateststar?)
Anyway, if we go by the second saying, it applies to Sarah even more. She’s closest to the Clone Club (“I’m a few, no family too, who am I?) , Felix (initials scratched into wood, remember?) and Kira, who she /chooses/ to keep returning to. She’s very far from her blood tie, Helena, who started out with the same blood in her veins. Amelia gave them both the same blood compotents while they were developing.
Sidenote: If you apply the second saying to Alison, though, it means her contract is the only thing she has, since she has no blood relations. NOPE. NOT OKAY.
Well, from my brief research here I found a very interesting connection if you’re looking for some parallels.
"Ninth Philosopher Song" by Aldous Huxley (yes, as in Brave New World Huxley) contains the line 'Blood, as all men know, than water's thicker / But water's wider, thank the Lord, than blood.'
Isn’t that interesting.
I’m going to put forward a connection to Rachel here actually, as we can’t forget about 1x08 where Rachel’s very first line of the entire series is “Blood is thicker than you think, Aldous.”
Is this a blatant reference to “blood is thicker than water” and even more importantly, is this a blatant reference to the Huxley quote?
Because if it is that gets me very very excited.
HOLY SHIT “THE NINTH PHILOSPHER’S SONG” IS FROM A LARGER COLLECTION OF POEMS OF HIS.
GUESS WHAT IT’S CALLED.
LEDA.
