Gotham gets Witchslapped ll Closed Starter
@thecovcn
Things had been fairly quiet lately, which definitely weird and troubling for Gotham supposedly. So it kept the Detective on high alert and barely took breaks in which his partner Harvey complained about but Jim couldn’t help but feel like something bad would be coming.
Sure enough the quiet didn’t continue, There were calls about a new threat to Gotham but the guy was a bit slippery but he didn’t have many clue as to his identity except for an address and a name on the card ‘Spellbound’. Jim decided to investigate for himself, he checked the address that was given and to the place in front of him before stepping out of his car and fixed his jacket and holstered his gun before moving to knock on the door before letting his arms fall to his side and waited for someone to answer the door.
“ surround myself with amazing people who help me through it. Like you.” Elliot said @helloxfriend
“Well, I am always happy to help you, Elliott. Let me know if I can get you anything. Are you feeling a little better?” Jim asked with a small smile.

‘ Don’t be afraid. Don’t move. ‘
‘ What’s happening? ‘
‘ We’ve met before, actually, when I was appearing as your daughter. ‘
‘ What if I get a sudden craving and want to eat her? ‘
‘ Why are you in my brother’s bathtub? ‘
‘ I will say that’s a tempting offer. ‘
‘ I think you just accidentally gave me a compliment. ‘
‘ You know, human looks better on you than I would have guessed, [NAME]. ‘
‘ Are these ropes really necessary? ‘
‘ A bullet would have been more effective, but we’re trying to be nice. ‘
‘ You do realize that you are dating a reformed serial killer, right? ‘
‘ You are not getting out of the car because you want an aspirin. ‘
‘ That’s why people treat you like an object and not like a person.. ‘
‘ You must have restless sleep syndrome or something - it’s like sleeping with a tornado. ‘
‘ It doesn’t “sound” crazy, it is crazy. But I’m open-minded. ‘
‘ I don’t want to hurt you, so get away from me, before I rip your throat out. ‘
‘ A vampire doppelganger who’s burdened by a conscience. Now I’ve seen everything. ‘
‘ I don’t ever want to be parted from you, even by death. ‘
‘ We wanted to find a way for our love to last forever. ‘
‘ What are you doing here? I thought you were dead and on the other side? ‘
‘ Have you not been listening to me? I have trust issues. ‘
‘ I’m controlling and paranoid and a little crazy. And that’s working out just fine. ‘
‘ What are you doing to my brother? ‘
‘ This town always so upbeat about dead people? ‘
‘ So we have a holiday dedicated to burying people alive? ‘
‘ I surround myself with amazing people who help me through it. Like you. ‘
‘ I live with this burning hunger inside of me that allows me to stay in control… ‘
‘ Dear Diary, do you ever get sick of me writing about death? ‘
‘ You were never going to let me go, were you? ‘
‘ No offense, but actually, I have no idea who a lot of people are. ‘
‘ So you want to explain to me why I just killed my brother? ‘
‘ Oh, you don’t think that I keep my promises, ‘
‘ Did you want me to pinky swear? ‘
‘ Oh, my god. What’s happening? What are you doing to him? ‘
‘ You broke my nose trying to teach me how to throw a right hook. ‘
‘ How much did you pay for that hunk of junk motorcycle that you ride? ‘
‘ So how would you feel about making us a deal? ‘
‘ I need a massive amount of power to do a transfer spell like that. ’
‘ You want Doppelgänger blood? I got Doppelgängers coming out of my ears. ‘
‘ You hate junk food. You call it toxic poison. ‘
‘ Now may I be excused, scary vampire daughter? ‘
‘ You’ve been avoiding me, I don’t like it. ‘
‘ Who the hell turned you into a vampire? ‘
‘ Can we not talk about this? ‘
‘ Trust me, I’ve done it. A lot. There’s no such thing as “moving on.” It’s a lie. ‘
‘ Well, this clearly isn’t peace, otherwise I wouldn’t be stuck here with you. ‘
‘ Would a little support kill you? ‘
‘ What’s a seven-letter word for kill me now? ‘
‘ What kind of coward gives up on his own brother? ‘
‘ Thanks for the mind games, jackass. ‘
‘ I can image you making me drink human blood, and laughing at me while I suffer. ‘
‘ I can imagine you feeding on innocent people and, uh, leaving a trail of bodies behind. ‘
‘ I don’t believe anything that you’re saying. Why would I do that? ‘
‘ Well you didn’t think I was gone-gone. I promised you an eternity of misery. ‘
‘ You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to hear you breathe. ‘
‘ Why don’t you just compel me out of the way? ‘
‘ Look don’t you think it’s about time we level with each other? ‘
‘ I followed you like a crazy stalker. Not one of my finer moments. ‘
‘ I just don’t remember it. I’m sorry, I just don’t…feel it anymore. ‘
‘ I feel horrible, and I’m sorry, but I don’t… I don’t know what to tell you. ‘
‘ Wouldn’t it be billion times easier just to stake him in the heart? ‘
‘ I could risk all of that for this tiny glimmer of a feeling inside that…I just can’t shake.. ‘
‘ I know this is gonna sound…pretty strange, but…I’m really happy that the two of you had each other. ‘
‘ I’ve got superhearing. I hear everything. ‘
‘ Why do you have a thing for me? ‘
‘ I am incredibly sorry for the way that I treated you. ‘
‘ Tell me how, tell me why. Please just make me understand how it is that I missed it. ‘
‘ It got cold and muddy. You were miserable, so we got in the car and we drove home. ‘
‘ We said that we would never talk about this again, so just… ‘
‘ If I hear the word doppelganger one more time, I think I’m gonna actually have to learn how to spell it. ‘
A Favor ll Jim and Oswald
@featheredfelon
Jim was hesitant to come by and was tempted blow off the other all together as Harvey had insisted him do instead. He entered the club seeing Oswald sitting with a small table and just a single chair in the center. On the stage there was an act performing on the stage. “Oswald, what is it that you called me here for?” He asked him.
“I drank again Jim.. I know i’m weak I should be able to take Bruce pushing me away. But it’s hard and I realized without him how alone I am in this world. It started with one now well it’s not.”
“It’s alright, Alfred I know it has been but maybe he just needs space. Bruce is a smart kid maybe give him time to sort things out on his own. Also, you aren’t alone. I’m here if you need anything.”
Risky Business || Jim and Oswald
@stabby-oswald
The knocking at his appartment door started off polite. Jim ignored it even i had been Harvey he didn’t think he was ready to deal with his partner without caffine. They weren’t really getting on well with the man finding him cynical. He figured who ever it was would get the message and just leave but no such luck.
The knocking got louder and sped up. “Okay, okay! I’m coming!” He growled out irritably as he got up as ruffled his fingers through his bed head. Jim made his way to the door and glared at the smaller man. “Oswald…” He looked behind him before pulling him into the apartment and closed the door he kept a hand on his shoulder to trap him there. “You shouldn’t be here but… You risked both our lives coming here the matter better be urgent.” He finally moved away from him to the kitchen to start a pot of coffee before leaning against the counter and gave him an expectant look.
“Ah- i-” He opened and closed his mouth, blinking a lot, baffled by his words. “Jim Gordon! For god’s sake !” He says as he raises his hands up. As he was about to scold the man for his extreme stupidity, he did realised that it was his heroic personality. It was something he realised right away and wasn’t something Mr. Gordon was “good” at hiding. He doubt he wasn’t even something he tried to hide. His facial expression changed to: annoyance to “I am so done with you”.
“I do not even know where I should start on the fact that it is the stupidest idea you *ever* had in your life. And i’m hoping it is the first because, on the name of any religions out there, you sound stupid.” He sighed as he lowered his arms and relaxed his shoulders, staring into the cop’s eyes. “Jim, I am saying this as a friend: if someone makes a move to kill you, you shouldn’t be here. They will send their best killers to make sure that you dissapear off this planet forever. You won’t be able to run out or save yourself out of this one. Your little … prowess among Gotham and if I heard them, that means everyone did, which is the result of what might happen to you.” He says with a very serious tone. “There is very little info and even less chance that they will let me over hear the rest of their plans, Jim.” He frowns.
Jim wasn’t to surprised by the other’s protest he had expected it, He was certain if Harvey was with them, he would join him in scolding Jim on his St.Jim attitude despite the danger of the situation. “Yes, Oswald.” He chuckled a bit then shook his head. “Damn, can you shut up and let me explain for a minute.” He interjected. “And don’t think you were here when I was younger I’ve had dumber” He mused.
“So you have nothing on them? Most likely it has to do with me taking on the Waynes’ case. They might be behind it so I get them thinking I have a lead on the case it’ll lead them to me. Thank you for the warning, Oswald but I can’t fight an enemy I haven’t seen before, can I?” His looked to the other and rolled his eyes.”And where else should I be, at your place. I don’t think that’s any safer and again I’m not hiding so whoever it is can hurt innocent people trying to find me. If you have a better plan, I’m open to hear it but for now. I have no choice.”He walked to the drawer where he kept his gun and ammo and loaded it before putting on his jacket and stopped just before the door. “Stay here if you want, I have an extra gun in the drawer there and if you need anything call me just don’t let Falcone find you here or we’re both dead either way.” He reminded him.
Oswald was surprised and at the same time astonished. He couldn’t argue against that. It’s true that neither did he had a place to run and things were shifting. He didn’t wanted to stay, he had other things to do, let’s be honest.
He took a step in, to come closer. “I-I-I …” he stutter. “I do know what they can do, but… If I want to be more useful to you, I need to get back and gather more information. I’m… not going to ask you to protect me, obviously,…” he laughs nervously “I can protect myself pretty easily but…” he breath out by his nose and stays quiet.
“No, nothing. Just, go on. I’ll call you when I manage to get more information and what or when they will strike. If you are right, then I guess that yes, they might think about the Wayn’s murder. If not… I’ll tell you what it is, friend.” He smiles.
Just then he heard a knock at his door. Knowing full well who they were Jim looked to the door before sighing through his nose and looked to Oswald. “Well, that is why I’ll draw them to me. This is my fight, Oswald. I don’t want anyone getting hurt if they don’t have to. it would help if I knew who they were, you haven’t gotten any clue?” He asked but it seemed they had a much more pressing matter at hand. He gestured to the door that leads to his room. “Take a hat and maybe some glasses, go out of my bedroom window. It leads to an alley. Hurry! Go” He whispered harshly. “I’ll send them away.”He told him as he glared at the door as he kept a hand on his gun before looking to Oswald and waited for him to listen to him.
“Some days when I really stop I realize Reggie was right. I am just a war dog. I have done terrible things.. There is no escaping that.”
“We both have, Alfred. What matters is what we do about it now, right? What happened?”
“I know we had a touching moment and it was nice but if you ever bring it up again I will destroy you”
“Thanks for your help,Aria and sure. I won’t mention a word of it” Jim promised. “But next time I’d be more careful about about the information you acquire especially in Gotham.” He warned her,

(( @detectivejimmyjamesgordon continued from X ))
“Well that is particularly rude of you.” Edward scoffed, moving to carefully slide the files he held into his suit jacket as if such a place would somehow prevent the other from retrieving them. Detective Gordon surely wouldn’t be reaching there! He hummed a bit, though a slight look of resentment remained upon his features. He steadily moved to cross his arms, “I am not here to make a proposition or a bargain if that is what you think.” Edward mused smoothly, seeming to lighten up once more.
“I know that works for practically every other criminal you come across but I am a tad more stubborn than they are.” The man paused, prodding at his own chin in thought, “Besides, you hardly have anything I want or am in need of.”
Jim crossed his arms in front of him as he regarded the other man with a glare. He scoffed at his claim. "I'm sorry, but breaking and entering is a bit more rude. Don't you think?" He questioned and brought his attention to the files the man was hiding in his jacket. "I don't? But it seems you have something I need is that it? Should I cuff you then or are you gonna tell me what you have there,Ed?" He warned him and moved closer to him but stopped just inches away. He pulled out and aimed his gun at him.

Oswald little feet were almost not touching the ground as he was trapped between Jim and the walls. His eyes, staring inside the other tired eyes police man. “Oh Lord” he thought to himself.
As he was let go slowly to the ground, he replaced his wrinkled clothes. “I…” He stutter at first. “I’m coming as a friend. I… I apologize I had to come this early to bother you but…” he comes closer to him, staring into his eyes. “the matter is important and it concerns you. At this moment, no plans is set in action, but apparently someone is coming for you, Jim.” He says, with a very serious look. “I do not know who decided to take you down, yet, but there is a high chance that things will go South fast.” He says as he stand straight.
“I can do a few researches on my own, but you will need to make yours as well. Well, for now, there is a lot of people targeted, but like I said: no one moved yet and nothing happened either. So… I believe that until they decide who to kill first, you are on the clear.”
"You apologizing, Cobblepott that's a first." He snorted as he watched the other a moment as he fixed himself up. Jim then turned to him.
Jim sighed as he listened to the others warning poured himself some coffee before turning to face him. "I am a cop in Gotham of all places, Oswald. People will come after me. I did sign up for this but why would anyone single me out?" He asked him as he took a sip and thought for moment. "What do you expect me to do? Hide until who ever it is decides come after me? I'm not gonna do that." Jim declared and then looked serious. "If you find out anything tell me, for now I'll just have to try and make me their target then. Draw them out before they hurt anyone." He decided looking to the smaller man.

I found it really surprising how this episode played out, because when I heard the synopsis for “The Trial of Jim Gordon”, I expected it be where Jim hallucinates people testifying against him, all his enemies, loved ones, etc.
Jim is putting himself on trial here, for everything that he’s done and failed to do, all the people he’s failed in his time in Gotham.
And I think that speaks to the deeper issue that Jim Gordon has had from the start of the series and that is the burden of his self imposed guilt.
(( We have only written a little but I love how you portray Jim!! I was super excited to see another Jim about and you write him wonderfully! :D ))
Oh gosh, thank you so much that means a lot. I've never played a character as complex as Jim before but I'm enjoying it which is the most important thing. ❤ the Gotham indie community seems small but I've seen some great writers so far I like your writing as well.
[ enough ] your muse commanding mine to stop talking . ((hcrrible-thxngs))
Jim rubbed the bridge of his nose as the other man was ranting at him about some injustice that had befalled his 'old friend'. "Oswald..." He started then sighed through his nose as Oswald continued he lost what little patience if any he had with the mayor.
"Oswald!" He yelled. "Shut up already you know I can't understand you when you get like this. So calm down tell me from top. What happened?" He asked.
