When you trip and your spaghetti falls out your pocket. One of the most relevant posts to date.
why did people even watch ass grier when this gold is on vine
a true cinematic masterpiece
I love Thosewhostand!Light (x)
I LOVE men. But most all I love REAL men. Not those skinny twig men. I like a man with meat on his bones! Haha! Could you imagine having sex with a skeleton? OUCH am I right? But I don’t want a man with TOO much meat. That’s just digusting! Haha REAL men have JUST ENOUGH! Haha! like, get back to the garage am I right?! Like i don’t care about your foot ball team, go mow the lawn! haha. Big dicks don’t count if you’re tall haha am I right, gurrrlll? aw friendzoned again
I'm so confused I thought Matt was a brown like a dark mahogany colour but everyone thinks he's red and that link shows it's green ??
Haha, I think it’s green on the anime, too? Granted, I am the Queen of ‘I swear it’s green!!’ in any context.
Basically, red is a fanon that came to be before the anime came out and then people went ‘fuck it’ at his canon colorscheme and ignored it.
Here’s a stupid graphic I did a while ago with drag-drops of all colors appearing in his hair from canon sources.
That really just goes from dark green to light-green-ish blue. I see why the anime makes it appear brown-ish in some lightings, but I still think green tones are pretty dominant there, personally.
JEsus Christ now there’s a light blue type of him too ??? good b ye
Older DN fans, before the anime came out headcanoned Matt as a redhead because the black and white tone of his hair on paper was darker than Light’s [and Light had already been featured on covers with light brown hair]
[i can’t believe i’ve flipped this picture around to fool myself into thinking matt is actually doing a very active dance and those are all tiny salt shakers on the floor]
but not as Dark as any other character that’d make sense as dark brown haired ‘cause asian/Sayu [who would make a lot of sense as a brunette because of Light’s brown hair and because genetics].
Putting that together with where he presumably comes from and the fact that everyone loves a redhead, he was headcanoned as a redhead.
Dark brown hair and dark blue eyes is actually one of my fave combinations for Matt because I love the combination and I think it’s subtle and beautiful. Frankly I like him with many many colors so it never mattered to me….but the brown hair thing was only settled when the anime came out. We never actually knew what his hair color was until the anime came out. [and considering how shit it is i wouldn’t call it 100% canon…imo imo imo!]
Oh, thank you for adding how the red came to be, that is good to know! I agree, neither the anime nor the recolor manga nor the game are like 100% solid sources on what his hair would technically look like, but I find them a lot more credible than fan guessing, considering they’re all some degree of…. well, official. But I never knew why exactly the choice of making it red was made, so this is a cool piece of fandom history.
yeah i know what you mean. They are definitely more official than fan guessing. I just accept the redhead matt headcanon because i like it and because i’ve been a fan since before tthe anime came out [actually i became a fan while the first arc was on anime so matt and mello and near weren’t introduced in the anime yet] soooo….i kind of can’t help it haha….all old fanarts were of him in red hair and the fanfics as well and just the thought of the him with freckles….even though he never had freckles in canon is just too cute….and just….the kind of matt i sort of grew up with so i lean in that direction…..plus i think ai love love and heichi’s fanart/doujins influenced me too much…
it’s just a thing lol….anyway i love seeing him in brown hair. I love the brown hair blue eyes combination. I like the dark olive green hair too and I love seeing fanarts with 2 matts one in red hair and one in brown/olive green….it all makes me happy.
Matt’s hair is just fun. What a cute dork.
Despite the fact that it’s official that Matt’s hair is brown/green/blue/whatever, I still prefer Matt to have red hair because that’s how fans established it before the anime came out - and what the fans decided is more important to me!
And let’s face it, he looks adorable with red hair
hahaha….when it comes to matt there are always too many variables to reach to proper conclusions except for some things. The best thing about Matt is how differently everyone depicts him. It’s good to me. I know a lot of people say things like “he shouldn’t be considered important…he was in like 10 panels.” but to me, his importance in the story and the fandom is absolutely undeniable because of the impact he has made on the fans and his very important contributions to the story line. I see why the fandoms decisions are important to you. It honestly understandable. I feel like when it comes to Matt, the fanom has made more effort than the writers themselves….so I just…can’t see why the fandom’s choices shouldn’t be important when it comes to him.

….everyone was very confused about Matt’s hair when the anime came out.
Including Mello.

i cannot comprehend how much i hate this shoe. this has left a disgusting taste in my mouth. it’s like someone has eaten a whole banana skin included and not digested it properly and then pooped it out and just put their foot right in it and whacked a black thingo on it and called it a shoe. im honestly in shock. this shoe must be worth like 400000 dolladioos. for a banana poo. i hate this shoe. i hate him. Kill Him Now
More facts?
When you’re feeling insecure, you typically don’t notice the hundreds of people around you who accept you just the way you are. All you notice are the few who don’t. Don’t ever forget your worth. Spend time with those who value you. No matter how good you are to people, there will always be negative minds out there who criticize you. Smile, ignore them, and carry on. You might feel unwanted and unworthy to one person, but you are priceless to another.

I confront [white guilt] every year, about a month into my course on racism, among [white] students who come to me in tears because they cannot deal with the racism that goes on in their families or their home towns or their student residences. Their tears are the result of genuine anguish, care, and a desire to learn and to change. I confront similar attitudes among my colleagues, and I am similarly gratified by their concern. But those who experience white guilt need to learn three things: 1) People of colour are generally not moved by their tears, and may even see those tears as a self-indulgent expression of white privilege. It is after all a great privilege to be able to express one’s emotion openly and to be confident that one is in a cultural context where one’s feelings will be understood. 2) Guilt is paralysing. It serves no purposes; it does no good. It is not a substitute for activism. 3) White guilt is often patronizing if it leads to pity for those of colour. Pity gets in the way of sincere and meaningful human relationships, and it forestalls the frankness that meaningful relationships demand. White guilt will not change the racialized environment; it will only make the guilty feel better.
