I never really focused on costume stuff so much. I have a couple for the barn con stuff and halloween but I don't really invest alll my energy there. Mostly cause my father still sorta controls my budget hahaha. Imagining him killing me dead if he saw some weird costume items.

A cat shirt miiight work though. a Knight/guard couuuld be cool too. Imma have to ponder what I can get away with easily. But I like the way your mind works. A genius at work over there.

But I'll let you know what general vibe I decide to pick in case you want to spot me in the crowd somewhere there. I kinda hope you get a fake bow and arrow together though. That'd pretty cool. Ooo you should get those foamy arrows you could actually launch at people lmaooo. Or am I the only one who wants to see a little bit of chaos at the ball?

gotchya. yeah, that's sort of how i felt when i first got here, too! but now that ive been here and had more of like a life here than i did back where i was originally from, swynlake has become the place that i refer to as home now. funny how that sort of thing just kinda happened to me over the years, i didnt even realize until it was already like that in my brain lol. do you miss your home-home often? or, like you said you need to be here, is it a nice break to be somewhere new?

honestly, the most basic way i can explain what brought me to swynlake was family. and also that it wasn't really up to me to come here, it was just what was happening and i was along for the ride.

i do miss home-home! i miss my family there and the weather, especially. but being in swynlake has given me a chance to connect with other family that i never really got to know. i think my favorite part of town is the fancy events!!

my home-home is also a small town and there's a big sense of community. but swynlake really takes the events to another level. i love dressing up for them!

speaking of events, are you planning on coming to the big reveal ball??

Oh my god, when I lived abroad I found a nightstand on the curb, fixed it up nice and used it for a whole three years until I moved home. Never knock a curb find!

I do! I travel to the same country multiple times a year-- well at least once, usually more -- and if I find cheap flights somewhere else I do just because. I've been to Warsaw, Budapest, Dubrovnik, and Lisbon on a whim in he last few years. A lot of my travel was school or work-related so that really benefited me. Or with my family as a kid, my mum isn't from the UK so we'd travel to see her family some.

I'm a bit more stationary these days, have my big kid job that keeps me in place, but I kind of like that too. The nomad life was great for the time I did it but I'm glad to be home.

I also find it very interesting how different people's brains work. :)

I do believe some people turn to the arts because they have no other motivation in life and think it is easy. True artists understand the importance and sacrifice of good art. You seem to be of the latter category, which I commend.

I am not English, no. And I have heard there are many Americans in town already. So, that should be interesting. Not many from my neck of the woods, though, I would imagine. People tend not to leave my area much.

oh i totally agree. not to turn my nose up at "other artists," but i think a lot of people have the misconception that it's easy -- or that it's all about raw talent and that if you have enough of it you can get what you want. but really, there's so much hard work that goes into any sort of art and so much perseverance

oh! i'm american too! and yes, it's very true there are a lot of us here. but they seem to come from all over. though a fair amount of people from california, specifically. not sure why! maybe it's just because it's the most populated state.

im specifically from a warmer area of the country so my first swynlake winter was definitely rough. im getting used to it, though. stocked up on warm clothes. but i am very much looking forward to the spring and summer.

i felt that. for some reason in the winter i do tend to be going to chippa's in order to indulge in a milkshake. even when it's like super cold. i don't know why, but that or a scoop of ice cream from ice queen's just appeals to me. and, i will say, the newish bubble tea place has had some real slam dunks that im always spending my hard earned money on lol

i am not from swynlake originally, nope. nor england! im one of the transplants. though ive been here for a while now so it feels more like home to me than where im actually from. what about you?

omg i totally get you -- ice cream is probably my favorite food ever, so i eat it at all times of the year. even when it's really cold.

i actually am originally from a very warm place, so my first winter in swynlake was... well, basically my first winter anywhere! that didn't stop me from eating ice cream, though. i came here a few years ago. i still think of my original home as my home-home, but i also think swynlake is exactly where i need to be at this point in my life.

part of the reason i left was because i'd lived in my hometown basically all my life and i just wanted to see more of the world!

what about you? what brought you to swynlake?

That wasn't a ramble, it was interesting. It is admirable to want to be such an influential person. Those kinds of stories do stay with you, so I think that it would be very impressive if you were able to craft a story like that. I hope you succeed. :)

And thank you. I will admit that I have trouble admiring creative minds in the same way, but maybe I just haven't been talking to the right sorts of artists. I appreciate your perspective.

And yeah, no skill required for a good karaoke time. I just like the feel of it and singing along to your favorite songs.

Tohru's a great character to identify with. She's a cutie. Kyo is also a top notch character. I went to take the buzzfeed 'which Fruits Basket Character would you be' because hey I thought it could be fun to see what they have to say based on arbitrary choices lmaooo it gave me Kyo which is mildly funny considering my cat icon. Is it destiiinyyy?

And Ayame is a legend ngl. Top notch. Yuki def grew on me too. Reading the manga helps with that too. Or did before they actually completed the anime recently.

Oh man that's touuugh. Dancing Queen is a classic showstopper for karaoke so I get that. Uhhh... I'll say Mr. Brightside. Just gotta start yell singing COMIN OUT OF MY CAGE AND I'VE BEEN DOIN JUST FINE GOTTA GOTTA BE DOWN BECAUSE I WANT IT ALL. Yeah. I think that sums it up LOL. Well, thank you. I do tend to be rather analytical. Many consider this a flaw of mine, but I don't. :)

That did make sense and is very curious to me. What makes you want to write something profound? Or what, I suppose, do you consider profound? That is such an ambiguous term, it intrigues me. Are you trying to write a self-help book? A history book about something in history that has been overlooked? A fiction novel that makes people reevaluate? Many directions.

oh it would be fiction -- the sort of book that you pick up and read and just find yourself... changed by, i guess? i like to think everyone has a book like that. the one book that opened your eyes and made you question something about your life and your way of thinking that you never really thought about before.

i'll probably spend my whole life trying to write something like that. but i gotta start somewhere, so i try to think of every short story i finish as a stepping stone!

Seems like you have some fun activities! I like to go out and play sports. Swimming's good too. And uh... climbing? I guess climbing would technically fall under sports too. I like to be active. i think more people should embrace singing even if they're not very good at it! it's fun! just like drawing and anything else "artistic" -- you dont need to be good at something to enjoy it.

im rambling because im avoiding your SOUL BARING QUESTION about which fruits basket character i identify with...

honestly it's probably tohru?? i feel like im positive and have a big heart, though i hope im not as spacey as she is. hope being the key word there.

as for favorite character.... probably kyo. i ship them sooo much. i also like ayame a lot. he's so funny, especially in contrast to yuki. yuki's also grown on me as a character! i think when i was a teenager, i was drawn to how ~~edgy kyo was, but yuki's so sweet and polite. kyo's still my favorite tho.

anyway! do you have a favorite karaoke song? i think you can tell a lot about a person based on what they choose. mine is dancing queen, which i know is cliche but for a good reason!!
