and honestly? idk if you've been around swynlake long BUT when one of these events happen and it sucks in a lot of the town's population, other stuff frees up and it's nice. not that anywhere is ever crowded, crowded but it's less busy which is nice! kinda lame, but im thinking of picking up a pint from the ice cream shoppe, gathering groceries, and then going home to cook a meal and watch my namesake.

i do miss home-home! i miss my family there and the weather, especially. but being in swynlake has given me a chance to connect with other family that i never really got to know. i think my favorite part of town is the fancy events!!

my home-home is also a small town and there's a big sense of community. but swynlake really takes the events to another level. i love dressing up for them!

Right??? I thought it looked really good! I've seen a lot of different productions of it through the years but I did really like what they did with it. I've seen bits and pieces through what they posted and I think I managed to find one bootleg video of it but that was a long time ago now.

Oh for sure. I guess I would describe myself as a theater kid except... I don't know. I do other things too lol. I love the onstage stuff. There's something so amazing about getting to perform. I love everything about getting into a character and getting to bring a show to life.

Though I do also love the stuff that goes on behind the scenes. There's always some kind of chaos behind the curtains only the cast is privy to.

rightright, not all your eggs are in the theater basket. im the same way. i participate in the play during the summer when i can and enjoy it, but it's not my one true love like it is for some people, which are the ones i feel like are deemed theater kids. and to that i say, i wish i had a deep love of something the way those people do! to be cringe AND free. powerful stuff.

i've been doing on stage stuff and dabbling with stage crew, but i feel like i'd be happier back there. just wish i had the know how on everything!! tech seems so complicated, i looked at the light and sound boards once and felt like i was a child again looking at a computer for the first time lmfao.

im interested to see what they pick this year! wondering if they're going to switch it up and do shakespeare like they used to or continue on the musicals pipe line.

omg i totally get you -- ice cream is probably my favorite food ever, so i eat it at all times of the year. even when it's really cold.

i actually am originally from a very warm place, so my first winter in swynlake was... well, basically my first winter anywhere! that didn't stop me from eating ice cream, though. i came here a few years ago. i still think of my original home as my home-home, but i also think swynlake is exactly where i need to be at this point in my life.

part of the reason i left was because i'd lived in my hometown basically all my life and i just wanted to see more of the world!

gotchya. yeah, that's sort of how i felt when i first got here, too! but now that ive been here and had more of like a life here than i did back where i was originally from, swynlake has become the place that i refer to as home now. funny how that sort of thing just kinda happened to me over the years, i didnt even realize until it was already like that in my brain lol. do you miss your home-home often? or, like you said you need to be here, is it a nice break to be somewhere new?

honestly, the most basic way i can explain what brought me to swynlake was family. and also that it wasn't really up to me to come here, it was just what was happening and i was along for the ride.

I think I know of a good occasion when I can use watching this as a celebration so I'll be sure to let you know then lolol. Maybe I'll make it a group activity, I'm sure I know a few people who also haven't seen it.

Yeah, I mean I thought it was a nice touch for sure and it was nice to see the audience react positively. You should be able to find it if you want by just like looking up 'Flesh Failures Texas State' and it's the one from like four years ago. Honestly, I hope they run HAIR for the summer play once in my time here.

I've only been here a few years, but I did participate! It's always really fun, and plus I used to do it back in high school and even as a kid. Any chance to jump into theater, I was taking it. If I can I'll be be sure to do it this summer, but if not I'll watch it no matter what.
