Exactly. Gotta have a nice balance. I’ll go out for coffee and breakfast, but I’ll make dinner at home and binge watch a few movies or shows. We have, now we have to show more emotion and have to be natural. We have to be these characters. CGI is wild these days. Sometimes it’s almost too good. Now you can, just check out Clark! I’m sure it might feed that curiosity of how certain people got away with a ton of crimes. That’s Clark Olofsson.

I bet! I’d say that the feeling is addictive. I will, but I’m not much of a singer, if I’m being honest. I just haven’t been going places where I can ski. But I do wanna go back to Japan next spring. That’s always a fun trip, especially sightseeing and seeing the cherry blossoms along Mt Fiji.

Well I can see where you’re coming from with the food! We munched on the plane, so I wasn’t super hungry when we got there. Plus, I didn’t have that many drinks since I was with my family. Awh, nice! I don’t think I have ever seen cherry blossoms, but I’m sure that it was a beautiful sight. Oh, the food. One of the best parts of travelling is the food. Hmm, now if I went there? I’d check out the clubs haha. But also, I would love to dive into all the restaurants there.

I’d probably munch on the plane and at the first restaurant I see after landing. I don’t really drink anyway, so I’d probably drink pop or water on the plane. You should go see them! It was a beautiful sight, especially later in the afternoon when just before the sunsets. The ramen you get on the streets and restaurants is so much better than what you get in grocery stores. I didn’t check out any clubs or bars, but I did do a lot of sight seeing.

It happens on daytime TV all the time too. I can only imagine what it’s like to be working with someone one day and the next it being a whole new person. I wonder if they even get to know, or if it just happens. We at least got sometime to prepare and start our journeys together.

Right? I wonder if the same. Do they get a warning? Do they know who it is before filming? It’d be nice if we got to know that as well as those cast members. Yeah, you get time between shows to prepare at least.

you should pitch it? .. i mean, i know how these things work. the producers have actually got to have an idea to get ahead with a project, and a certain actor pitching something probably won’t make a difference. but at least it’s a shot? or, we could both start a petition up, then maybe people will listen.. or maybe, i could just stop rambling so much rubbish these days. i apologise, i get carried away.

I should, but it’s entirely up to them. I probably wouldn’t make a difference, but Tim Curry or Stephen King could and it would make a difference. I’ll have to get in contact with the producers of IT to pitch it to them. These are great ideas, but I wish I could produce it myself.

I am sure that it’s a different kind of hard with a cast of a show and a film. You get close with them, but on a whole other level. It’s hard to say goodbye to anyone in general. More so when you work and do great things with the group of people that you worked with. We all just turn into a hot mess. Nice to meet you Bill.

I’ve seen actors change on sit coms and I can only imagine how difficult it is for the main cast to adapt to the new member. I get that completely. It’s always hard to say goodbye, I found it extremely difficult to say goodbye to my cast of Hemlock Grove and IT. Things will get ironed out, just gotta be patient.

No, I get it. I’m also very humble when it comes to the roles that I take. I’m just happy to be playing the role, I don’t go out and flaunt that I got the part. I was just making a point that it should be celebrated and bragged about if you were that kind of person. I take the criticisms too personally, even though I know I shouldn’t. When I got cast as Finnick, there were people out there who hated the idea and they weren’t shy about letting me know. They would tweet at me, send me DMs, hoping that I would quit. And then when they found out I was playing a quadriplegic in Me Before You, there was an uproar about that. You can’t please everyone all the time so all you can do is keep your head up and put on the best performance of your life. I feel I did that with both of those roles. 

Right? But at the same time, we can’t go around bragging like it’s a brand new car. Damn contracts. I get that, I’d only get like that if it’s a role I’m extremely passionate about. I feel the same, I get in my head trying to figure out exactly what the director exactly wants. People will voice their opinions regardless. I’ve heard good things about my movies, I’ve heard bad things. It’s apart of the work. People will be upset about roles they know nothing about. As long as you feel like you did good for both of those roles, that’s all that matters.

Oh my gosh this is something my sister always did too we shared a room for a while so i ended up getting used to this habit i never do it myself but if she’s at mine for the night i can hear it through the walls and still it doesn’t bother me. I mean playing video games is that something people ever grow out of if you start you’re stuck aren’t you?

I accidentally fell asleep watching listening to the radio a few times as a kid, next thing I know, I can’t sleep without it. At least it doesn’t bother you like it bothers others. Pretty much, you get sucked into a game, figure out something cool or deep dive into the story and no one sees or hears from you in a week.

There’s nothing like a good movie night, honestly. Like don’t get me wrong, I love going out and getting all glamed up. But just staying in for a whole night, watching the best movies of all time - nothing beats that. Those sound like some pretty awesome projects! Good for you. What’s next? Working on anything right now?

There really isn’t anything like it, I love a good movie night. Right? I enjoy going out and having fun while looking nice, but I love sitting down and watching movies. It’s really interesting watching the original movies and how expressive you had to be with your face and body. Clark just finished up filming, and that’s really cool. You even get to see me with a beard and shaggy hair. I have a few things in post, but that’s about it.

I can only imagine how excited you are! Right? Sometimes people only see you for a musician and not what you can do. I can imagine. It’s awesome having creative freedom over what you work on. It does sound like fun, I might have to go soon.

We’re incredibly lucky to have met such big stars like them! They’re hugely iconic and very inspirational to us. I’d love a reboot of the Mini series since not many people watched it.

Been in the studio like crazy lately getting some new DNCE stuff going, even got a new single coming out called ‘Move’ so be on the lookout. On top of that, me and my brothers will be performing in Vegas for a few nights next month, just went to the Met Gala last night, and my movie Devotion will be in theaters in October. In other words, I’m living my best ass life right now, and I’ve got no complaints. I think the only thing I could use is a vacation with a beach or pool bar in very close reach for a few days, sounds like a fucking dream right about now. I am not going to lie.. This week has been super emotional. Aaron Tveit, Ricky Rojas and Tam are all leaving the show on Monday. These three men are the men that I got my Broadway debut with, and I have been through a lot with them. Derek and I make our full time debut on Monday, as excited as I am also super scared. What if it all horribly goes wrong, sure I have done the show over 100 times, but you never know. Hey, I am Ashley Loren and I am a nervous unicorn.

I know how you feel. I felt the same way at the end of Hemlock Grove, because this was my big break and the people I worked with I loved and I’m still friends with Landon Liberon, and we act together on occasion. Haha well as soon as I got here, I had a cocktail and headed straight for the pool. I mean… what’s not relaxing about that? Right? Treating those you care about is the best thing of all. Wow, really? I’ve been to Japan… when my brother was touring with his band. I was a bit younger then and wasn’t able to experience as much. I’d love to go back someday! What’s your favorite thing about Japan?

Haha! I’d probably at least look for some food before hitting the pool. Exactly! It’s the best feeling knowing that you’re giving back to everyone who looked out for you. Japan is so pretty, but I went one year and saw all the cherry blossoms along Mt. Fuji and I was taken away. Aside from the cherry blossoms, I love the food. It’s so good, but some of the snack foods are something else. Is there anything you'd like to do in Japan now?

I love that so much. you made your uniqueness work for you and look how far you’ve come! do you ever fear being typecasted for those kinds of roles? or are you like, the more, the merrier! right?! I can’t think of one negative review when it comes to your performance as IT. that’s when you know you’ve done something special. exactly, it keeps you motivated and focused, set on proving their confidence in you right. haha, maybe but right now I want it GONE.

Thank you! I made it onto the big screen and not the Sundance Film Festival. I love going there and that my movies are recognized, but it’s nice to get out to the general public. Absolutely not. I love getting those kinds of roles! I think everyone who watched the remake were just as terrified now as they were when they watched the original. Might be a slight ego boost, might be too much even. Here, think of unicorns. That help?
