“Besides, I like my work. I happen to think it’s fun to do what I do. That said, I’m always open to new ideas, so you’ll have to show me your definition of fun, then, yeah?”

“True, but there will always be work. However, when we are old and gray, would you rather say, ‘I worked hard all my life.’ Or would you rather say, ‘I worked had and lived to the fullest’?” He asked her, taking another gulp of his drink, “My definition of fun is really simple, good drinks or food, fun activity, and good company to ensure laughs and smiles.”

Raven looked over the man, grinning as she took her drink off the side table. She let out a light laugh at his words. “Jokes on you then. I always need to get away from work.”

She slid onto the chair laid out next to him. “I hope you have an open schedule. Cause you just volunteered for a lot of overtime.”

Devon laughed, “Oh come on you can’t be that into work, you got to step away from it sometime, have a separate life, there’s got to be something besides work that helps you out and lucky for you my schedule is flexible until we start getting you to have some fun.” He took a drink of his own beverage and said, “All work and no play is not always good.”

Raven didn’t really care about her tan.

She hadn’t had time to tan regularly in years. Hadn’t bothered trying, not since back when she was working as a prosecutor in the DA’s office. Back before Lex. And before she’d started to put work first.

But she was at a resort and she had a free afternoon and there was an attractive man next to a pool who’d invited her to join him.

So today, she decided, today she would care about her tan.

Or something other than the piles of paper in her office.

She grinned as she approached Devon, kicking off her flip flops and sliding onto one of the deck chairs, towel falling to pool on the ground.

“Remind me to thank you later for getting me out of my office.”

Devon didn’t really do anything special to prepare for Raven’s arrival, as bad as it sounded, not that he didn’t care, he did, he enjoyed the company of women both in a casual setting as well as sexual. He just ordered her drink and laid back with his sunglasses on. When she arrived he turned his attention to her and smiled in greeting, “No problem, the next time you need to get out of the office or away from work, I’m available.”

Emmy let out a little laugh. She didn’t think herself much of a dancer but she enjoyed it anyway because she had a lot of fun dancing. “Thanks! Wanna dance with me?” She raised an eyebrow, her smile wide. It felt good to not think about the drama so much and just let loose. “I need someone to ha e fun with!”

He smiled to himself when he saw her laughing, he liked to make people laugh, making them feel better in any way possible was part of his job description. When she asked him to dance with her, nodded the smile still on his face, “Who am I to turn down having fun and dancing with such a pretty lady?”

Devon chuckled at the woman’s question briefly before he answered, “No I’m not making fun of you I was actually giving you a slight compliment.” He told her before raising an eyebrow at her next words and smirking, “Well some say that sex is a good workout, if you do it good.”

Emmy was feeling like having a bit of a wild night since she had off.  She wished she had a girlfriend to go out with but she figured she’d make the most of her night.  A few drinks in at Luxe and Emmy was on the dance floor, dancing with whoever came her way.  She didn’t care.  Bodies were all overt the place and she definitely didn’t mind.  It was freeing and stress relieving.  Her eyes locking with a guys, she just motioned with her finger for him to come over and dance with her.

It was a slow night for Devon so until something came up he was spending up his time dancing and having a few drinks at Luxe. After he had been there for about an hour, he was getting a bit bored when he saw someone walking in the club. His eyes watching her as she got a few drinks and started dancing. When she motioned for him to come over, he smiled and made the way. “You are a vision on the dance floor little lady.”

Devon had been itching to get to the gym all week and he finally found the energy and more importantly, the time to do it. So this afternoon found him walking into the gym with his bag over his shoulder, ready to get a good workout in, but he paused in the doorway and watched the woman that was there before she said something, “I’ve been standing here for a few minutes, I was enjoying the view too much. Besides you seem like a pretty capable woman.” He smirked.

“I need to come up with an event so amazing that people forget about being scared and want to go. Either that or start searching for a new job”

Devon looked up the woman as she spoke, a small part of him thought she was crazy, but a bigger part of him could understand and was impressed with her determination, “That would have to be one spectacular event little lady, got any ideas?”
