no verlaine again this chapter of sb sadly but the UNEXPECTED AGATHA CHRISTIE PANEL WAS A REALLY NICE SURPRISE... it's been so long since i've seen my wife!! i miss her!
might bring sigma back to this blog as a main muse?? he's on a sideblog atm but having so many sideblogs has kind of become a bit of a pain............
MAN I REALLY WANT A THREAD WITH LIKE... verlaine being trapped in some sort of au world without any knowledge or memories of the supernatural... with someone trying to bring him back to bsd's world, for whatever reason.
ALSO IN GENERAL I AM THINKING ABOUT KYOUKA + LINKING HER WITH YOKAI TODAY........... i have literally no specific ideas in mind atm but. it makes me very happy.

Now, Aya wouldn't describe herself as particularly judgemental. But she's not exactly the opposite, either - and she trusts her gut feelings just as much as anything else. ...Nor does her courage make the feelings stirring in her belly any less unpleasant to take. A child like that, the same age as her... she has no reason to logically believe they're a threat, and yet that uncanny feeling of wrongness is practically screaming at her, the dissonance causing a bead of sweat to trail down the back of her neck as she tries not to outwardly freak out.
Aya is a hero of justice, after all! And heroes don't get scared. Still, when she opens her mouth to speak, she isn't sure how good a job she's doing at hiding her unease.

suddenly want to see canon era kyouka and verlaine working together towards a shared goal.......... i have no idea what it'd be, i just. am always thinking about their interactions, tbh.

Kyouka answers simply - giving only a clipped, monotone affirmation as she looks up at her mentor; eyes as dark and deep as pools of black ink. It's always like this. She wears the expression of someone who's not even alive, and does as she's told without complaint - like a doll, perhaps, or a corpse. To an outsider, it would no doubt be uncanny enough to convince them to stay away, but in the Mafia, no one blinks an eye at it.
A part of her does feel grateful. He's right that she's exhausted - though the cause of that is more psychological than anything else. She keeps thinking about the person she killed, her latest victim in a long line of bloody massacres that shows no sign of stopping... It's only natural for a girl like her to feel distraught over what she did, but for Kyouka, that doesn't quite apply in a normal way, at least as far as she can tell.
This was her sixth. But though discomfort and guilt tugs at her heart, and she knows in her heart that she didn't want to kill them, she never once tried to abandon her mission. Was it fear that kept her rooted to obedience, allowing her to finish the deed without even hesitating? When Kyouka first arrived here, the only thing she had wanted had been revenge on the one who killed her parents - Demon Snow. That goal has only been drifting further and further away, and yet... she continues to kill, absorbing every lesson she's taught, a part of her hoping that maybe one day those skills will give her what she wants.
Kyouka doesn't want to die, though she deserves it, so she does not disobey. But she's never once considered running away. If this is the only place she can be, if killing is all she can do... then maybe it will give her purpose... ...That's what she'd thought.
"...I didn't hesitate." she suddenly speaks without being prompted - something unusual for her. "The last person I killed... begged for me to stop, but I didn't. The Port Mafia... is it really a place for people like me?"
