Your "rare pair" has over 26,000 fics on AO3. That's not rare.
Your rare pair is the third most written ship in a popular fandom. My rare pair can only be found on my AO3 page. We are not the same.
My rare pair is between me and the Almighty
It's always funny to me when people give their blorbos all the same "correct" far left political views which while I understand the urge to make these blorbos as progressive as possible as political commentary, there are some characters that I feel in my bones are 100% centrist, pro-ai, pro-capitalism or absolutely refuse to vote and its supported by the source material. As a narrative tool these features are still great for being political commentary, even if the character never changes.
Seriously, give your blorbos political opinions you don't agree with, or opinions in general you don't agree with when it makes sense.
Pineapple on pizza doesn't count.
Who is pro-capitalism? Who is pro capital punishment? Who is pro gen Ai? Who is against all gun control? Who is unsympathetic to the homeless? Who idolizes the rich? Who is so far into diet culture they think anyone with a bmi of 25 or more is disgusting? Who sex shames? The opportunities are boundless.
man I sure love that character I wish the writers did too

Been getting back into pixelart thanks to wplace
im so charmed by characters who are likely to have the worst day of their life at any given time in the story where we happen to check in on them
most frustrating thing in the world is when you really like a character who sucks, and you know they suck, so you’re chill with people who dislike or even hate them because… well they suck, you get it. but then a whole bunch of people hate them for things that just aren’t actually accurate or canon to the character and just treat these inaccurate and awful character traits as a given, so then you feel like you gotta be this scumbag’s defense attorney. free my man, he did so much awful shit but he didn’t do that
death of the author yeah whatever but death of the fandom is so integral to enjoying legitimately anything like that is just a necessary step to take in ur head always. do not let them affect the text in any way exterminate them all with ur death ray. they r not real and cannot hurt u
Wait actually want to highlight this.
FIRST step to enjoying any media is getting attached to the character whose suicidal tendencies are the most obvious
