The party was, as the kids say, litty and Dex and the bartender had made quick friends as it became abundantly clear that Dexter Lacey with a drink in hand was a very generous tipper. Having relocated his blazer - thank you Andrew - and then subsequently failing to wrestle Osric to the ground in lieu of dancing to Tik Tok - Dex stopped to snap a few pictures with his friends before deciding, quite suddenly, that he needed another drink. He leaned against the bar, politely waiting his turn, when a flash of color caught his eye. Turning, almost pavlovianly towards something new, he was shocked to see Amy standing there. “Amy, you look amazing! Note that you typically look stunning, no questions asked, but you really took my breath away for a second there. Let me get yours too,” he says reflexively, forgetting entirely that it’s an open bar. “I know this is supposed to be some sort of staycation, and I hope you’ve been well, but would this be a bad time to try to steal you away all for myself? The restaurant biz doesn’t appreciate you like I would -- like I do, Ames.” And it’s true, he’s so happy to see her it felt like it had been ages since they had last had the chance to catch up. // 🍷 @amyorariadne
