Updates and Progress

See my other social links: linktr.ee/dezmodian Growth and progress! Okay, so the current workflow had slowed a bit till I complete a promised video project to family. However, I've continued to develop the story and related material for Song of the Devilstorm. Once the video project is complete, I'll be doing a massive amount of art for this entire thing!! July is the "Camp NaNoWriMo" event, a secondary effort of the main NaNoWriMo campaign which takes place in November each year. It's basically a free support site to encourage authors, and it's helped me keep writing for years. All I do is keep updating the wordcount, it tracks it into stuff like the screenshot below. Very nice. This CampNaNo effort was to flesh out the short story origin for one element of my main story... and it turned out to be a possible novel on its own! During it's development, I was able to find many uses for the story elements that reach well beyond the first book of the main story-filling plot holes and supporting distant timeline plot points. The success has been delicious! I've already sketched out some concept art for it as well, and that'll be shared later on. So yeah, the plan: 1) family video project 2) finish bulk of secondary writing 3) construct concept art 4) design some primary artwork pieces with full attention 5) finish most early story character references for webcomic 6) finally start setting up the webcomic initial pages for sharing 7) keep writing dev of primary story I'll probably be primary on Ko-Fi, but I'll be posting a bit on Patreon as well, and everywhere else goo heh. For those sites, I'll ALWAYS have my comics up for free. The development process will be behind the cheapest tier, and the higher tiers will eventually have some fun things :) I have some thoughts for plan development on those already-but thats for the future.

Quick Update

Hopefully the artwork will resume here soon enough. Last two months we've been dealing with health issues in the family. I'll say this though: if you are over 25, go get yourself a primary care doctor. You'll want something established and quick to access when stuff starts happening, and it will heh. Human bodies start to wear out mid/late 30's, and when you get to 40 it'll seem like the warranty is expiring >< You'll need that access to care. But in any case, here's to gettin more art done again soon!!

Here is story time with one of my old Stellaris games :) Enjoy!! ------------------ To this day, one hundred and forty years or so and counting, Bubbles still sails the solar winds with our fleets!  Our pride and joy, our champion, the inspiration of many generations through out the empire, yet reigns supreme in our stars and in our hearts.  The great grand children of science officer Derom cur'Fargeth, who first discovered the young amoeba playing in a gas giant, continue their dedication to Bubbles by putting every effort forward to her care.  Even the children of Bubbles herself are starting to grow up.  The empire looks forward to seeing what our futures will hold together.

Occasionally, new visitors come into our space to visit with Bubbles.  These new space amoeba, showing little to no interest in our own fleets, will interact with our champion and then tend to wander off into neighboring systems.  For the last several decades, there has been a small pod of three sisters lurking around he Pharrim system next door to Bubbles home star, lazily drifting in and out of the local gas giant's atmosphere.  Space amoeba mother Ortus, Oriens, and Cortus have been offered all the freedom they could want, and are left to do as they wish to that red star system.  As we have nothing but a starbase in that system, it has been proclaimed a sanctuary for as long as the sisters remain; no megastructures or large military presence will be allowed.

In continued celebration, we share these glorious moments of Bubble's ventures with the fleet!  Paramount to our efforts, her assistance in taking the Ring World system of Sanctuary from those ancient caretaker automations was, to this date, her crowning achievement.  Along side the Avatar class battleships of the Rothak Holy Guardians, called to our fleet by the Zarqlan relic to serve their prophecy, Bubbles was instrumental in securing the site.  Even the Rothak Holy Guardians commanders showed their approval and reverence to Bubbles, congratulating us on being adopted and protected by such a devoted mother.

There are many more challenges we shall face together, but we shall remain the good children our protector mother deserves.  Our hearts beat as one, Bubbles!  Now and forever!

HA! Okay, so in honor of my little accident with the stairs, I made a silly comic for it... the fourth Side Comic lol: Rock Shark! This... yeah, this is totally what happened, and exactly how I got that laceration over my eyebrow. Yup lol! Hehehehehe!!!

Ahhh there we go, finished a new version of my Starbound Avali character!! Also attached are a few of my ship screen shots from previous worlds. All are gone now, sadly, but they were soooo much fun to do! The three headed dragon was the most ambitious one for sure, though! I did a quick Blender3D model of what I was goin for, too. Really liked that!  ...maybe I'll do a planet side version of it this time... Hours spent in the game so far: 2305.6 (mostly because of the Frakkin Universe mod... so awesome!!)

Okay... still working on exactly how to do a lot of things, but I think I'm goin to call this second one done now! Character reference for Arnkit, dragon matron of a family of diplomatic envoys in the main city the MC spends most of his time.  Woot :) Couple dozen to go!

Finally done with my very first character reference sheet (clearly very limited-this one dies early lol)!! Song of the Devilstorm - story currently 81k words (1/2 done?), working to make it a webcomic now too. Slow process for a filthy casual, but I'm gettin there! Another good dozen characters to go, for now! Really excited to finally get some more actual progress done. Characters, places, dimensions? Cooking? ha. World building ftw!
