Sneaking in One Last Course Before Calling it a Trip: Tonn's Travels
Sneaking in One Last Course Before Calling it a Trip: Tonn’s Travels
After twelve days of hard work, cleaning and running thousands of pounds of items to Goodwill, a local museum, the local library, hauling trash to a dumpster, etc., today it was finally time to make the push for home. March has been a good month, but a hard month for myself and my family. I was on the road for 21 of the 31 days, which can be tough on my wife and daughters. Not that they likely…

Course Collecting in Southwestern Wisconsin
Course Collecting in Southwestern Wisconsin
The planets aligned for me today in the midst of helping family clean and prepare my great aunt’s home for an eventual sale in Northeast Iowa, including bringing my smartphone back to life so I could use my UDiscapp to help direct me to courses (thanks again to Dave Baker at Computer Support Plus in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin for the help). So I snuck over into Southwestern Wisconsin for a few…

Trying to Course Collect without Hip Waders or a Canoe: Tonn's Travels
Trying to Course Collect without Hip Waders or a Canoe: Tonn’s Travels
After realizing I would have a several-hour break from needing to help my extended family with preparations for the sale of another family member’s house this morning, I decided that I would head over to southwestern Wisconsin to check out a small cluster of four courses to the West of Wisconsin Dells that I had not yet been able to play and explore.

Playing a Soon-to-be-Extinct Course: Tonn's Travels
Playing a Soon-to-be-Extinct Course: Tonn’s Travels
One of the occasional challenges of course collecting is showing up at a park hundreds of miles from home that UDisc or Disc Golf Course Reviewsay has a course to enjoy, only to find that baskets have been pulled for the season. Or in some cases, permanently. And with locals not always being good about updating the conditions of courses on those various directories? It can waste hours of time,…

The first Disc Golf Pro Tour stop of the year took place this past weekend down in sunny Scottsdale, AZ. Matt Bell was in attendance, competing in the MPO division, and played well enough to make the cut and play in the final round on Sunday afternoon where he finished in 73rd place and snagged last cash. Over on the MP40 side of the event, Shasta Criss continued his steady play and ended up in…

DGA Team Weekend Roundup 2/22 – 2/24
The first National Tour event of 2019 was held this past weekend, the Las Vegas Challenge. Shasta Criss was also in Las Vegas and ended up in 3rd place in the MP40 division on the A-Tier side of the event. Another awesome finish in…

DGA Team Weekend Roundup 2/15 – 2/17
Shasta Criss was able to start things off right and secure the Win in his first event of the year in the MP40 field at the Wintertime Open A-Tier. This event was held for the 41st time at the first ever disc golf course, Oak Grove, in Pasadena, CA. Josh Castle was able to bring home some cash from the event as well, finishing in a respectable 21st place in a very heavy MPO field.

My "Garbage" Ace: Tonn's Travels
My “Garbage” Ace: Tonn’s Travels
It has been a few weeks since I was able to get out and enjoy a little disc golf. Bad weather, a busy holiday schedule, ice and bitter cold has kept me off the course, for the most part. So when my wife said she was taking our daughters up to see her sister for the weekend, and the weather forecast in early January was for sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 40s Fahrenheit? Well, I…
