Day 6: Free will vs. Fate Keywords: Choices. Decisions. Split roads. In/dependence. Destiny.

I will fight for the Akuma. I will live for the Akuma. That was what I decided as I walked, always moving forward. The only things precious to me were tha Akuma. And yet, I lost sight of that. "When you close your eyes and think of the world, what do you see?” Everyone shone so brightly that it made me lost sight of the other things I cherished. They became important to me… So important… The me, who lives for the Akuma. The me, who lives for my Friends. Both are me. Both matter. For the Akuma, and for my Friends, I must walk the both paths. I can’t throw neither away!

Hello! This is my thing for the prompt Free Will vs. Fate. I heard the song Human by Christina Perri and thought, that would be a good song for Lavi. Then I wrote this and actually had a hard time figuring out which prompt it would fit under. This one fit best, I thought. And imagine it as sort of a journal entry and he’s trying tofigure things out, so that’s why he’s not making much sense. Anyway, here it is!

 - I’m supposed to be You. All 48 and you, the 49th, are but a single “Me”. You’re the one who started to change.

I really wanted to participate in dgmweek but I've been really reeeally busy with class and work. I love the prompts and I have had ideas for them but just not enough time.. Will you stop reblogging posts made after the last day? And can I post something for Day 2 even though it's over?

Yes, you can definitely still post after tomorrow! Because we know that some people started classes this week, recently came back from holiday, or ended up too busy in general, we actually have a six-day leeway. We will continue to reblog everything posted in #dgmweek up until January 17th. After that, D.Gray-man Week will be officially over.

Why is it, "Lavi", the 49th "me"... You're supposed to be me. Before "Lavi", there were 48 others. Why weren't you the same as them? Why did you slowly diverge from every former version of "me"? Why was being the 49th the hardest? Why... did you come to despise becoming a Bokkman, Lavi!? You choose to fight for these temporary friends!? Humans create nothing but wars! They're a feeble species! You know it's true! If you let your emotions get involved, It'd be agonizing, I have the responsability as a member of the Bookmen order! I kinda understand... "I" was disappointed in humans. In the human world they were always arguing. I thought I was different from them. Tell me... do you know...? The Bookmen... Why do they exist...? Why is it that humans fail to bring an end to war...? Why... ask "me"? I have no idea. "I" am supposed to be you. All 48 and you, the 49th, are but a single "me". You're the one asking. Warning, this chapter made me heartsick to write. Be prepared for angst. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lavi shifted the bag in his hand as he pulled the hood of his jacket closer around his face. The rain pelted down on him relentlessly, flooding the streets and making travel impossible. They had been stuck in this storm for days, and it put him on edge. They couldn’t stay in one place too long. It was too dangerous.
