Nanakorobi yaoki

“Nanakorobi yaoki” - Fall down seven times, get up eight times. It’s an ancient Japanese saying that I've been fascinated with for a while now. I also was wondering why it sounded so familiar, and found Proverbs 24:16 again. I may not be the most religious person. But God has taught me to love, be thankful, and above all else- stand up every time I fall. (The last might be easy for a lot of people, but it took more than 10 years and a handful of friends to help me get through that process of not sulking in my mess ups and life’s blows.) I know this Tumblr account is ancient (haha!), but if you can read this, just know that we were built to keep moving forward. So dig those heels in, look forward, stand back up and shine. It’s easier said than done, but believe me, every step counts. Things will get better. (Take this from a man who was disowned, didn’t have a home, left with Php500 in his pockets and was halfway through college.) God does have a plan for you, and no matter how hard things are right now, there is someone connected to you, who’s heart swells up when you succeed, who keeps on praying for and fighting with you. You can do this. We can do this.
