The blond paused, thinking through his story one more time. ...Okay, maybe it wasn't the most interesting story in the world, but it wasn't the worst, right? He liked to think that.
"But Kyuubi--!!" It wasn't a whine, more like an overly dramatic objection. "It's a story, right? That's what you asked for! And at least it's longer than that fact you turned down earlier!" Of course he wasn't speaking faster than he needed to as if this was some kind of urgent situation. Of course not.
Settling down with a sigh, his eyes practically lit up when the cue for his tale to begin came. And since he was told that it was okay to tell it, that meant no punches or anything should be possible afterward if the fox didn't like it!
"'Kay, I call it 'The--," he stopped himself short. Maybe naming it wasn't the best idea; anything he came up with to call this story of his probably would make it sound boring. "Nevermind. Onto the story, then."
"So after finally gettin' out of this place for a little while, I decided to go down to Ichiraku to get some ramen," he began rather enthusiastically, a small grin on his face that only showed up when he told these kind of tales to others. And that wasn't often; probably the only entity that ever got to see him act this way was Kyuubi. He didn't hang around many people, after all.
"When I got there, though, they asked why my eyes were all weird 'n stuff!" The worst part was probably that he didn't even get to explain to them that he wasn't the same exact customer that always came there. Poor, poor Naruto.
"I told them that my eyes had always been this way, but they didn't believe me! Accused me of using contacts or somethin' like that, then one of them went on and on about how color contacts aren't that great for your eyes," he huffed, arms folding across his chest as if to show just how unhappy that made him. "No matter what I said, they kept on actin' like I was that blue-eyed idiot."
And for the second time in a semi-short time period, he sighed. Maybe he should've expected that since the guy did show up there regularly and he didn't.
"—But anyway, Kyuubi! They gave me ramen for free! I didn't really listen why, but whatever. I should get you some ramen one day, y'know."
Naruto, having told his little story, fixed his eyes upon the demon fox as if expecting some kind of reaction. Anything but boredom or anger would be great, really. Interest would be even better.
