[ Shades of Blood and Darkness ]
{ ♔ } - Fear made her run as she heard the grunts of the cruel creature behind her and Valerie. She did her best to keep up with the blonde who was practically dragging her. Her surroundings consisted of nothing but blurs of people running away, children screaming, and men dying. It was chaotic and for a moment, all she wanted to do was drop to her knees and let out a scream. Not only was she scared but the sight of the corpses was making her more paranoid, dizzy, and mad.
When Kaitlyn looked ahead, she caught the church inside fences with villagers cowering within the land as a priest helped people inside. And it hit her; that was where they were going, holy land. Of course, it all made sense. She began to run faster towards the structure when the wolf suddenly closed their way towards the church. The brunette despaired, when Valerie suddenly pulled her again.
This time, it was towards a tall structure. It was not much but it was enough to help them stay undercover for a while. She did as Valerie instructed before finally reaching the top where bales of hay lied around. Kaitlyn sat on one of them as she covered her face with her hands. The pressure, fear, everything, was too much for her. The young lady’s breathe hitched as tears flowed down her face. “God, Valerie. What did I get myself into?” she asked in a panicked voice.
Valerie did not what to do-- she, too, was panicking but not the way Kaitlyn was. The blonde was only trying to lessen how deep the situation was, with the brunette crying and the scene outside the building.
It was like the past repeated itself, with the bloody massacre outside and a werewolf lurking around and about. It was most probable that it was looking for them, if not busy chasing others. The werewolf was obviously more terrifying and vicious, a ravaging and violent beast. It was familiar, the scenario; new werewolf, new victims, same feeling. That feeling of fear and isolation. Only her situation was different. Here she was, comforting a friend unlike before where she was talking to the creature. Miles better than before, her situation was.
Hands tightly grasped the shaking shoulders of the young lady, nails almost digging past her clothes. "Listen to me." she said as calmly as she could. "I need you to calm down. I don't want and need you to be in this situation, crying like a helpless lamb, lost and defenseless." the blonde said, shaking her back into reality.
That is, things were about to go the way Valerie wanted them to until she heard the familiar growl of the vile creature behind her. Turns out, the werewolf found them and was nor inching nearer them, up the stairs. What did it want? Her? Kaitlyn?
