POP CULTURE MAGICK POSITIVITY
Other paths get love, but Pop culture witches and Pagans need more love too! So I’m gonna spread it for all of you! Here’s to all the witches who;
Perceive their gods as they appear in the video games they play
Cast spells that are based on that really cool spell from their favourite cartoon
Are rejected by other witches for not drawing their magick from traditional means
Are criticized and accused of not employing “real magick”
Are told their magick is “tacky”
Keep anime figurines on their altars
Use tools that are employed by their favourite characters and repurpose them for magick
Enchant using music from video games
Recharge their witchy batteries by indulging in fanart
Use fandoms as a means of bonding with spirit guides, ancestors, and deities
Seek wisdom in profound pieces of media, rather than cryptic, oudated books or confusing meditations
You are valid, your path is creative, and let NOBODY tear your craft down for being “weird” or unorthodox!
“Minimal Effort, Maximum Results”
Draw this sigil when you’re feeling tired but still need to finish a project. And so then, refer to the root phrase. Great for assisting in spoonie magic probably.
How did yall figure out what path was right for you?
You don’t, you just start walking. You fuck around and find out. You don’t brand yourself, you learn from what and whom that gets thrown at you. You become interesting. You follow and adapt to every unexpected turn. You never get too comfortable.
You don’t choose a path, but you start moving. You listen to your gut and start doing - the path will lay itself out.

Finally got around to making a place to put physical offerings to Dialga, which is mostly old technology and mechanical parts, as well as shiny/metal things.
In there we have an old DS which has since been replaced, which is perfect as an offering for Dialga. I think we may use that DS in spells too since it still works despite half falling apart!
ACTUALLY I just remembered, we do sometimes do divination using Pokemon Pinball RS, which would be an excellent use for a DS set aside for magick purposes.

Was It A Sign?
Well, maybe. Maybe not. Here are some little things that may help you figure out if it was really a grand message or not! The more of these you have, the more likely it is.
🦉It’s unusual. Let’s say you saw a deer. Sweet! That’s cool, but if you live in a wooded area and deer are really common, it’s really not that profound. It could be a message, or it could just be a deer.
🦉You asked for a sign. If you asked the universe or a certain deity for a sign, perhaps this is the follow through! For this type of thing, it’s usually good to ask for something specific enough that you couldn’t expect it every day, but not so much that it’s impossible. (My go to is a rose or a purple feather.) That way, you know that X thing is your sign without worrying too hard about it!
🦉It felt… different. Maybe the event isn’t terribly wild on its own, but it just really hit you, or the feeling was incredibly profound. Especially after doing research, and seeing how many things are symbols, your brain will make connections really quickly. That means sometimes we make something out of nothing. A strong emotional response is a good sign of a sign.
🦉It immediately felt like a sign. Let’s say you see a rainbow, and it’s really pretty. You enjoy it for a few minutes then go back inside. Later, you think, “Hm, that could have been a sign.” Maybe. But it also could be your brain going hey, I know things associated with rainbows! (In my opinion, this is the most important one. I feel like if you have to wonder if it was a sign, it wasn’t a sign. You might not know what it’s a sign of, but you will know it’s a sign. That’s just my UPG, though.)
🦉Any post-research lines up. If you get a neat vision and run the details through Google, you may find details that line up with certain lore. Maybe you knew this before, maybe not. If you didn’t, and connections keep happening with surprising accuracy, it’s a pretty good indicator!
🦉Think of why you want it to be a sign, if you do. There’s a big narrative that everybody involved in magic, Paganism, etc. is constantly having these profound religious experiences. This simply isn’t true. There’s no shame in wanting a story to share, or to feel special, or to “fit in” by getting signs from the universe. Sometimes we want signs for the sake of receiving signs, so if you’re trying to manufacture them by pulling on every little thing, you’re distracting yourself from enjoying the world exactly how it is. Don’t worry about signs and enjoy yourself. Animals and rainbows and all that are still pretty great even if every little thing doesn’t have a personal meaning.

Elemental Monkey Ramen for Studying
A Pokemon-inspired kitchen spell by Bergamot (@sprucetea)
This spell calls upon the three elemental monkeys in the Pokemon universe to aid in a spell centered around a bowl of ramen. The goal of this is for enough energy, calm, and wisdom to power through the rest of finals week. In the Pokemon universe, the elemental monkeys are most closely linked with the first Gym in the 5th generation games, Black and White. Pokemon Gyms in the games mirror finals for many college students: A final test of skill that requires lots of preparation beforehand. Both finals and Gym fights happen eight times (assuming a 4-year degree), award the challenger with something necessary to continue their journey (badges or credit hours), and represent a necessary challenge in order to be considered an expert in the challenger’s field. The Elemental Monkeys were chosen in particular for this spell since their gym doubles as a restaurant where each element helps cook the food, which synergizes well with kitchen witchcraft.
Ingredients:
Instant ramen to use as a base
Half of a red bell pepper for pansear
Broccoli for pansage
Water for panpour
Salt for cleansing
Pepper to add power
Turmeric for power
A representation of the three elemental monkeys
Preparation
Gather required ingredients and any utensils that you may need while cooking
Prepare your representation of the monkeys. This may be Pokemon cards, printed images, a drawing, a sigil, a snippet of the manga, a poem, anything. I personally chose to draw a representation of each of the monkeys to forge a personal connection and clear my mind before the spell.
Have each ingredient measured out. I chose to use eight pieces of broccoli and cut half of a red bell pepper into eight slices. Eight represents how many Gyms are in a Pokemon region (and how many final seasons are in a 4-year degree).
Casting
Fill a pot with water and let it boil on the stove. Add a sprinkle of salt to cleanse, provide taste, and help the water boil.
Cleanse ingredients, yourself, and other spell-related items using the steam from the boiling water (with caution and from a distance as necessary!).
While the water is boiling, meditate on one elemental monkey at a time using the representation you’ve chosen as a guide. For each one, focus on what their powers can bring to the table in this spell. Hold up your hands and imagine a ball of energy forming in your palms. Channel your intent into the ball, focusing on a connection with the monkey you’re working with. Let this ball form into a Pokeball containing all that energy and intent, then release it into the physical food that represents that monkey. Add that ingredient into the boiling water.
For pansear, I channeled fire, energy, and passion to power through my studies with enthusiasm.
For pansage, I channeled calm, a lack of stress, and a playful, upbeat attitude to make sure I don’t get overwhelmed or stressed while I study.
For panpour, I channeled wisdom, careful planning, and the ability to flow like water through whatever obstacles may come my way.
Now, I added all the other ingredients to the pot, such as the actual ramen noodles, the salt, the turmeric, and the ramen’s flavor packet.
Allow time to cook, stirring as needed.
Pour into a bowl, let cool, and enjoy!
Results:
Overall, this spell worked amazingly well!
When I prepared this spell, I expected it to work more or less as soon as I finished eating. However, I didn’t feel any particular effects until two to three hours afterwards. Gradually I felt more motivated, more focused, less stressed and less tired. I was able to get through a lot more of my notes than I believe I normally would have and it didn’t wear on me as much as it usually does. I was so energized by the end of the day, in fact, that I had some concern about how well I was going to sleep. I thought I’d have trouble falling asleep and I’d dream of school all night (which is par for the course for me) but I was pleasantly surprised. I fell asleep quickly and slept through the night without any school-related dreams. When I woke up the next morning the spell was still in effect: I felt just as motivated and focused on my work. This energy persisted through much of the day and kept me going. I also noticed I was significantly less tense and worn out despite doing nothing but studying for two days now. It gradually began to wear off by the end of the next day as my focus slipped more and I was less compelled to keep going, but the stress reducing effects lingered.
For one, the inspiration for the spell is something close to my heart. I’ve been a long time fan of Pokémon since before the release of the fifth generation games and looking back at them brings a lot of joy and nostalgia for me. This personal connection helped me to tap into the energy of the games and the characters in it.
Second of all, the theme of gyms for a finals spell seemed to click well. This is more of a hunch but I think the energies synergized well for the purpose of the spell.
The ingredients I chose for this spell well represented each respective Pokémon and I had no trouble using these correspondences to effectively channel and manifest the energy I was searching for. I think this would hold true for substitutions as well, such as other kinds of peppers (including powdered instead of fresh) or different kinds of vegetables. It could even be entirely different substitutions too so long as the new ingredients have the same connection to the elements. Having eight of each also worked well. I wasn’t sure how well the turmeric and pepper would work as they don’t have a direct connection to the source of the spell but overall I feel like they did boost the strength of the spell.
However one of the biggest reason I think this spell had so much success was the use of three different elemental Pokémon who are part of a trio. This allowed me to channel my intention through three different lenses that each added a unique element to the spell. This is how I suspect I had the energy and motivation to power through the work for the day yet still had the peace of mind to sleep well and stay relaxed. Focusing on just one Pokémon or element would’ve changed how I channeled my intent and likely how it would’ve manifested.
Additionally, the Pokémon I chose were easy to continue to connect to for the rest of the day. I kept the artwork of them I made underneath my notebook and I followed up the spell with an essential oil blend that I also associated with the three monkeys. I had Pokémon music playing in the background as well. All of these made the energy of the spell easy to raise and direct with intent. I felt connected to these energies throughout the duration of the effects of the spell.
As for the actual food component, the ramen turned out to be pretty good! It’s still just instant noodles with veggies, but I really enjoyed it. It’s a classic studying food with a handful of fresh veggies to make it more appealing. If I were making this for taste only though, I’d add more veggies and perhaps top it off with some egg. Cooking it on a stovetop as opposed to a microwave definitely improves the dish.
There were some things I could have done better during this spell. The biggest flaw in the spell was a lack of foresight and planning for things that could have gone wrong. What if I did make it too strong and I stayed up all night studying? What if I made the scope of the spell too broad and it leaked into other aspects of my life in ways that I hadn’t planned for? However, I think one of the biggest things I overlooked here was personal protection. Ultimately this spell invites the energy of something that could very well be an entity--or three entities. There is a chance that the energies I called upon were not the energies I got and I was inviting possibly dangerous spirits into my life. In the future, I should be more careful about placing the proper protections on myself and my home and incorporating a defense mechanism into the spell to block out any unwanted intrusions. Additionally, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to incorporate some sort of offering or thanks to the energies that aided in the spell.
TLDR;
This spell worked amazingly well and achieved exactly what I wanted. It was also some pretty tasty ramen. When replicating this spell, place more of an emphasis on protections from unwanted energies and perhaps consider leaving offerings for the good energy that does help.
Blissey’s Soft-Boiled Eggs!
“Blissey senses sadness with its fluffy coat of fur. If it does so, this Pokémon will rush over to the sad person, however far they may be, to share an egg of happiness that brings a smile to any face.”
These are eggs that are meant to bring happiness to those who eat them! Based off of Blissy’s signature move, Soft-Boiled! They’re a great treat for yourself or for a loved one who might be feeling down.
I will say that these took a lot of trial and error for me before getting right, but I think I’ve perfected them. Keep in mind, even without that though, these can be a bit time and resource consuming. Make sure to take your time with these and don’t stress yourself out!
Ingredients:
-A gallon or so of moonwater -Rose quartz -Clear quartz -Rooibos tea (optional) -Two or three whole fresh beets -Fresh eggs, as many as you want to make
Instructions:
This first step is optional, but you can bless your moonwater with your rose quartz and clear quartz before you start anything else, if you want. This is up to you, as I ended up planning on doing that, but then I forgot to, and everything turned out fine.
Prepare your cooking space! Make sure you’ve got the appropriate amount of space to work quickly and safely, because this recipe is unfortunately rather hot and time sensitive. Make sure you’ve got a good pot, access to your sink, a strainer spider spoon thingy, and a “cooling station”. The cooling station is just a little container that is filled with ice water, with enough room that you can put in your hot eggs without it spilling. To the left and right of the cooling station, place your quartz crystals.
Chop your beets into chunks. Go for a size that will be easy to get out of the water with your skimmer, but still expose plenty of wet flesh. Also note that beets will stain just about anything they come into contact with, including your hands and especially anything else. Be careful.
Now, you can bring your moonwater to a rolling boil. Once you have a good boil going on, put in one tea bag of rooibos tea. Only leave it in there for about three to four minutes, as it can easily turn the water too dark and not let the water take in all the beet red juice we’re going to get into it. Once you’ve taken out the tea bag, plop in all of your beets. Stir and wait until the water is a very deep, dark red. Once you’ve gotten a color that’s like red wine, you can fish out your beets and do as you please with them.
Finally, you can add your eggs! Make sure they are fresh and trustworthy eggs– whatever you look for in a raw egg should be here. I recommend only putting in one or two eggs at a time into the water. Be careful not to crack them. Keep the water at that high rolling boil and keep the eggs in for exactly six minutes. This part is crucial. Six minutes. This is how you get the perfect soft boiled egg, anything more will start to hard boil it and anything under will be too runny in the whites. Make sure to have a timer and be ready to move quickly when the time is up.
When you take the eggs out, run them under cool sink water until you feel comfortable handling them with your hands. I did about a minute and a half to be safe, but that’s because I have tender hands. Once you’re done there, move the eggs to your cooling station. If you’re done cooking at this point, make sure to turn off your stove. If you’re wanting to cook more eggs, hop back to it, as you’re gonna be losing water every moment because that’s how boiling and steam works.
Once you’re completely done and you’ve turned off the stove, bless your cooling station. Imbue the eggs with your positive energies and the energies of the crystals. Think of how happy they will make those who eat them. Remember that these are still soft boiled eggs, even if magical. So don’t give them to someone with an egg allergy! And know that a soft boiled egg keeps for about 2-4 days in the fridge. Enjoy! These made my family very happy!

Basic Magickal Computer Programming
Programming magick is the act of manifesting your desires through the use of embedded intent in computer programming code. This is a very useful, and practical way to use magick when writing programs, applications, websites, and anything else that you might use code in. In order to get the most out of these techniques you will need to know how to program in any programming language. It does not matter if it is C++, Java Script, or any other type of programming language. all you need to know is how to program in some programming language, so that you can transfer these techniques into your practice.
Magickal Programming Variables :
Variables are a very important part of programming, and they are going to be one of the main ways that we are going to use magick through the programs that we create. These variables are going to act as are intent much like a sigil would, and it will be the mark in which we fill our energy with. You will be able to charge these variables with energy through the act of interacting with them through some other command in your program. The first thing you would have to do is define your variable this would put your variables sigil into being. The variable should be named something that should fit your intent. This can be any type of variable such as int, strings, char, boolean, or any other type of variable.
Examples:
C++ :
int I_will_find_love = 0;
Then by interacting with the variable through such means as increasing the integer, or changing it in some way would build up its energy. Once the variable is charged all you would need to do is release it into the universe. You can do this by simply closing the application, or returning that variable from a function/method.
Simple Examples:
C++ :
int I_will_find_love = 0;
do{
I_will_find_love += 1;
}
while ( I_will_find_love > 100);
return 0;
HTML Magickal Programming
HTML may work a little bit differently than the other programming languages, but the idea is practically the same thing. You just have to take pieces of the HTML script, and in bed it with your intent. This should be on things that people are going to interact with when they visit your website, or blog such as putting your intent code on links, buttons, pictures, and any other things you can possibly think of, so that when they are used or looked at they will get charged. These types of sigils would be passively activated, and would continue to work as long as they are being charged.
Simple Examples:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>My blog</title>
</head>
<body>
<a href=“url” alt=“My blog is popular”>charge my sigil</a>
<img src=“pic.jpg” alt=“My blog is popular” style=“width:304px;height:228px;”>
</body>
</html>
Both these two methods I have shared with you can be learned from, and adapted into your practice, and even made better. Even if you cannot program I hope you found this post interesting. Thank you for reading my friends.
