Shintaro felt her move back against him she played, her noise of protest amusing him and causing a smile to curl his lips. She then pointed out her once lack of physical form — virus problems and all — while her elbows curved to dig into his middle. Ene’s voice was warm, just as the blankets and their shared body heat were, and he couldn’t help but feel that warmth bloom in is chest as well.
She were a lot of things to him; one being a beacon of hope for his existence those long two years of being locked in his room, running from his problems and the outside world. Without Ene, he couldn’t imagine what state he’d be in. Although he said he was often annoyed by her virus hi-jinks, he really was grateful for her presence. Part of him felt that without her, maybe he wouldn’t have had the strength to continue living each day. Just as she were, however, Shintaro wasn’t honest either.
He wiggled from behind her, unable to escape the dig of her arms, causing him to grunt in response. The younger of the two didn’t stop moving her pigtails though, intent in distracting her from the aliens in the game. After a moment, Ene paused the game and twisted to look at him, those large eyes reflecting his face back onto them.
"Maybe I wouldn’t suck so much if someone wasn’t so distracting, master.”
Shintaro felt a flush rise to his cheeks with the nickname. Blushing hotly, he wasn’t able to respond before Ene moved enough to rest her head onto his shoulder. The action was endearing and he never felt so lucky in his life.
"Fine, fine," he replied, letting go of her hair and trying his best not too appear like a poor blushing maiden in her presence.
Things really had changed. His eyes looked deep into her own before he slowly began to lean down toward her lips. His heartbeat felt incredibly loud in his own ears. "—Ene.." Shintaro began, his free arm curling around her body.
A smile curved higher upon her lips at the sight of him flushing at the nickname, the blushing maiden look certainly not unwelcome. He was never going to be a prince charming, that much was for sure, but Ene couldn't say she minded. She'd never been one for fairy tales, even in the farthest reaches of childhood and teenage crushes.
Though, maybe they did get some things right.
The feeling of his arm curling around her brought an answering warmth to her own cheeks, nestled closer still and tilting her head to maintain eye contact. She needed this. She'd needed him, just as much as the reverse had been true over the time they'd spent together, the former cyber girl could only wonder what she would have done without the boy before her after losing her body, the people she had cared about most... everything had been swept out from under her feet just as quickly, and it would have been so easy to drown under the weight of it all.
He'd saved her just as much as any reverse was true.
The game controller fell, mostly forgotten, from her fingers as they instead wound into Shintaro's shirt. It wasn't difficult to miss the cues, her own flush deepening as he moved towards her lips. Maybe she'd have to rethink his chances of being prince (not so) charming...
In the meantime, it was easier to wind her hands behind his neck and pull the other the rest of the way until their lips finally met.
