Feel like i need to make a proper intro because the old pinned has some outdated OUTDATED art on it 😨 i'm talking non-dilute calico lynxclaw outdated (shh dont mention that he isnt a colourpoint in any of the arts here)
Before we begin, due to the topics covered in The DiamondClan Saga, such as grooming, manipulation, CSA, violence, miscarriage, and abuse, this is a 15+ blog. TWs will be included on posts that discuss these sensitive topics to the best of my ability, but please read at your own risk, and I assume no liability for anyone under 15 who decides to read the content of this blog.
Anyways, welcome to diamondclan-official! This is a sideblog of @astralcat and @maneomiya dedicated to my Warrior Cats multifandom/crossover AU/fanclan project: The DiamondClan Saga, featuring characters mostly from old shoujo manga like Patalliro!, Kaze to Ki no Uta, From Eroica with Love, etc. but also featuring other non-shoujo series I like such as early Universal Century Gundam & One Piece. The AU is set mostly in an alternate version of central Washington State (south of Leavenworth but west enough that you still have forest) in the late 80s (main story starts in 1988), near the city of Landingham and the small town of Mine's Road.
The story mostly focuses on DiamondClan, a Clan whose camp is located inside of an abandoned gemplace (diamond & other precious metals mine). Long ago, the entrance collapsed, barring Twolegs from entering, but as four ancient cats (& their allies) who set off on a long journey from a far-off place (the Great Lakes region) found, cats could enter just fine. Thus, DiamondClan was born. DiamondClan warriors are clever and agile, renowned for their superior night vision, and are well-known for their beauty and their accepting nature towards LGBTQ+ relationships.
There are many other Clans all around, but the four that DiamondClan interacts most frequently with (including Gatherings and half-moon meetings) are:
CloudClan: a Clan that lives atop plateaus, close to the sky. CloudClan cats are known for being quick and nimble.
PondClan: a Clan situated near several ponds south of the big Twolegplace (Landingham) who are skilled at swimming.
PineClan: a Clan of the thick forests outside the small Twolegplace (Mine's Road) renowned for their stalking, climbing and survival skills.
HillClan: a Clan that makes their home in the hills where the forest thins out. Known for their tenacity and ability to scale sheer cliffs.
While the five Clans share a sacred spot to StarClan in the Moonlake, each Clan has their own sacred spot to StarClan, used for leader & healer ceremonies, as well as to ask for blessings from StarClan. DiamondClan has the Starcrystal, a huge crystal spire located deep within the gemplace's caverns. Ever since the Starcrystal's discovery, DiamondClan couples who cannot have kits in the usual way (for example, two cis male or female cats or a t4c same-sex couple) have been able to go to the Starcrystal to ask StarClan for a litter of kits. The process usually goes as follows: The cat wishing to carry the kits touches their nose to the Starcrystal and says:
"O great StarClan, I humbly ask of you to bless me and my mate (insert mate's name here) with a litter of kits."
Then, the cat becomes pregnant, and things go as usual (unless they don't have the requisite organs to actually deliver the kits, which usually means the cat in question has to undergo what is basically a c-section). If the cat also does not have the requisite organs to nurse the kits, another nursery cat may be needed to suckle them until they can be weaned.
DiamondClan also has a few alterations to the Warrior Code as follows:
The "no murders" rule only applies to Clanmates. Anyone else is fair game
Healers can take a mate and kits, and this is not frowned upon as much due to the fact that DiamondClan usually has multiple healers at a time
Although the past two rules also apply to the other Clans, DiamondClan also has a special Warrior Code rule applicable only to them: in the event of the leader's death, the deputy does not automatically become leader. Instead, one of the leader's kits (from their oldest surviving litter) does. Only in the case of the leader having no kits or littermates to their name does the deputy succeed the leader.
Outside the Clans, there are also a few other cat groups comprised of loners, strays & rogues, such as:
The Twilight Force: A group of strays in the big Twolegplace (Landingham) and beyond, committed to protecting all cats through covert operations. Basically a cat spy agency
The Gemplace Rogues: A group of hostile rogues who aim to drive DiamondClan out of the gemplace
The Black Widow Order: A splinter group of aggressive rogues who believe that StarClan is a ploy by the Dark Forest to deceive cats, and that only the Great Star is the one true authority over cats. Naturally, they despise the Clans.
Now, for a few housekeeping things:
Yes, you are completely free to make fan content of this AU (fanart, fanfics, MAPs, AMVs/PMVs, character redesigns, analysis, etc.) Tagging me is appreciated, but not required. I will usually like & reblog fan content!
The stories & characters in DiamondClan tend to deviate pretty heavily from their sources, to the point where I'm tempted to call this an OC project just heavily inspired by the sources.
If you plan to upload my art elsewhere, make sure to credit me somewhere. "Credit to the artist" won't suffice here.
The cat in my PFP (made with ClanGen Pixel Cat Maker) is Lynxclaw (he/they/fae), the DiamondClan version of Maraich Justinof from Patalliro! and the mascot/main character (sorta) of The DiamondClan Saga. Prepare to see him a lot.
Now for some of the character art I've done for this AU! See you!
Diamond Seeker/Diamondstar - long-furred blue-gray and white cat with a somewhat flat face (he/she/they) (technically a blue bicolour Persian, slightly redesigned as the "modern" Persian face type didn't exist in the mid-to-late 40s when he would've been showing)
Aspen Leaf - long-furred bicolour torbie point trans tom (he/they)
Boar Tusk - large long-furred dark brown mackerel tabby tom (he/him)
Sandy Pawstep - muscular gray and white tabby tom (he/him)
So in the beginning, Diamond Seeker was a show cat and Aspen Leaf was a loner healer who had a strong connection to StarClan (back in the day there were a lot more loners who believed in and had connections to StarClan). They both lived in the Great Lakes area around Ontario/Michigan around the mid-40s in our time until one day, Aspen Leaf receives a mission from StarClan.
Follow Weststar's light to the cave of crystals, alongside an unlikely partner who will seek the diamonds and live nine lives.
Aspen Leaf sets out on his journey, stopping at a Twolegplace because his StarClan powers are telling him that the cat who will "seek the diamonds and live nine lives" can be found here. Meanwhile, a Persian show cat has been receiving dreams from starry-furred cats, asking him to "wait for the leaf on the wind who will guide you to nine lives". Although the show cat had been hoping for a new life, he brushed off the dreams as just his imagination running wild. When Aspen Leaf and the show cat meet, however, Aspen Leaf can't believe that *this* is the cat who will seek the diamonds and live nine lives. However, if StarClan says so, it must be, and so the two head west to the cave of crystals, with the show cat taking the name Diamond Seeker.
Along the way, on two separate occasions, a rogue attacks them, only to join their quest after having dreams from StarClan urging them to join the quest. Those rogues were Boar Tusk and Sandy Pawstep, respectively.
Later, when they reach the cave of crystals and fight off some rogues, DiamondClan is founded, with Diamond Seeker taking his nine lives and becoming Diamondstar, with Sandy Pawstep as deputy and Aspen Leaf as the Clan's first healer.
(this is just a TL;DR of the story btw, as you can tell it's loosely inspired by journey to the west and slightly modified so one day i can make a big ol map of their story set to stairway to heaven)
Topazbush - ginger tabby tom with small patches of white and a gorse patch adorning his ear (he/him)
Blizzardtunnel - blue silver shaded tom (he/him)
Topazbush is a dedicated warrior who likes to joke around with his Clanmates from time to time (no matter how much they may find his jokes funny), while Blizzardtunnel is very calm, patient and doting with younger cats, so he often helps out with the nursery
And now their numerous magic starcrystal mpreg kits (all carried by blizzard) (they aren't that genetically accurate bcs they're kits of magic starcrystal mpreg btw)
Litter 1:
Cloudyfall: sepia flamepoint & white classic tabby tom (he/him)
Sheepfur: long-furred light ginger & white classic tabby cat (they/he/she)
Cloudyfall is a clever warrior who aspires to be like the brave heroes of legends frequently told to Clan kits and apprentices, while Sheepfur is known to be one of the sweetest, most patient DiamondClan cats, but don't let that distract you from the fact that he's on the Leader's Guard, and therefore is a very dangerous cat to cross.
Litter 2:
Wisppaw/night: tortie and white intersex (Klinefelter's) tom (he/they/xe)
Daffodilpaw/snow: long-furred cream and white classic tabby molly with small patches of white (she/her)
Wisppaw is a kind and sweet apprentice who greatly admires Lynxclaw and is very close with his best friend and eventual mate Quartzpaw(/flight), while Daffodilpaw is shy and somewhat insecure due to frequently getting sick (weak immune system), which is why her big brother Cloudyfall is so protective of her.
(Topaz & Blizzard do have a 3rd litter who are kits but I didn't feel like drawing them)
Finally writing this down and getting this over with. Here's Lynxclaw's full story up to the birth of Lambkit, Hazekit, Rubykit, Copperkit & Twistkit.
(Edit 4/6/2026 to align with Amberclaw's name change to Lynxclaw and to fix errors + add new info, such as Gilbert, and Dorian's Rogues staying in DiamondClan).

Lynxclaw was born as a kittypet named Marie to their mother Colette, alongside their littermates Kiara, Jacques & Hermes. Their father was another kittypet named Duke, who was surrendered to a pound after his housefolk found out about Colette's pregnancy, where he was euthanized due to the pound being full at the time. (I should clarify, this was around 1986/1987 in a small town, but it doesn't excuse their decision at all.)
Marie was a very energetic, rambunctious & playful kit, always bounding around and pestering their mother & littermates to play with them. Despite Marie's energy, Colette still loved them just as much as she loved her other kits.
However, when the litter were 2 moons old, Colette's housefolk decided it was time to send the kits off to a shelter. They all dreaded the pound, due to the other kittypets in the neighbourhood telling stories about cats who went to the pound, weren't adopted for a few days or weeks, and were sent to be put down to free up space. As Colette watched her housefolk's monster speed off with her kits in it, she knew she was powerless to do anything.
But Marie was a smart kit, and with the only method of securing the kits inside being a cardboard box, they managed to escape from the belly of the monster through a crack in the window. In the moment, all they could do was run, and run they did, straight into the forest.
Once the adrenaline levels in Marie's brain dropped, they realized how grave their situation was. A little kittypet kit, lost in the scary forest, with no knowledge of how to get out. Except, Marie took it as an opportunity. If they had run this far with legs this little, they would have to start a new life.
Despite Marie's housefolk referring to them as a girl cat, Marie had always felt like somewhat of a tom, but didn't know how to properly put those feelings into words. But now, Marie had a realization: if they were starting a new life, they could just be a tom all they wanted! Thus, Marie took the new name of Lynx, and adventured deeper into the forest, vowing to be the toughest forest cat anyone had seen. No need for fear or tears, because big strong toms never get scared or lonely!
However, as the days passed, Lynx realized one thing: it was incredibly tough, being a little two-moon-old kit alone in the unforgiving wild. But Lynx was tough, so, so tough! He couldn't feel this way!
So when a loner group found Lynx out in the wild, snacking on a bug he caught, Lynx initially refused their leader Moth's offer to take Lynx in. But two seconds after saying so, Lynx started to cry and press his little face into the old cat. "Actually, no, no! I wanna go with you! The forest's so scary, and I'm actually not that tough and strong!"
And so, Lynx joined the group of loners led by Moth, learning how to hunt bigger prey than just bugs, which berries were poisonous and which ones were tasty snacks, and how to survive the forest. However, another cat Moth had taken in was beginning to show quite an interest in Lynx.
Birch was eight moons old. If he were a Clan cat, he would have been an apprentice. Except he became fixated on Lynx, still a little two-moon-old kit.
Birch initially proposed that him and Lynx be best friends. Lynx, being young, lonely & trusting, agreed. The two started to do everything together, hunting, playing, battle training... but one day Birch asked Lynx what he thought of the two of them being mates.
"Mates...?"
"Yeah, mates. It means two best friends who are together forever! Doesm't that seem nice, Lynx?"
"That sounds awesome, Birch! Yes, I wanna be mates with you and play forever!"
And so, Lynx and Birch "became" "mates". Lynx, being three moons old, couldn't understand why the other cats Moth had taken in, around Birch's age, made weird faces when Lynx explained how he was mates with Birch, and even weirder faces when Birch would share tongues with Lynx, or tell Lynx "I like-like you. Do you know what that means?"
However, things got ugly whenever Lynx tried to do things on his own. Birch always wanted to be involved, because if you don't intend to spend every moment of your life with your mate, then you're mean and a bad friend. When Lynx became stubborn, explaining how, no, he wanted to play by himself, Birch would frequently get violent, swiping at and biting the kit.
However, one fateful day, five-moon-old Lynx learned what "mates" REALLY meant from one of the other loners Birch's age, Fern.
"Lynx, do you know what 'mates' means?"
"Yeah! Birch's my mate, and he told me—"
"I think Birch might be wrong. 'Mates' means two cats who love (or 'like-like') each other and want to be together forever. Usually mates have kits with each other. Now, pay attention very closely, Lynx, when I say this."
"Grown-up cats like Birch and me don't take kits as their mates. If they do so, it's very wrong and bad for them to do so."
Lynx didn't know how to take this new information. He didn't want to tell Birch about how much of a bad cat he was, because Birch would probably hurt him. So Fern encouraged Lynx to tell Moth and the other older cats in the loner group about it.
Except, they didn't listen.
"Birch is such a nice, polite cat! He wouldn't try to be mates with a kit!"
"Are you sure? Maybe Birch just wants to be your friend!"
"It's such a shame that you'd say that stuff about such a smart, hardworking cat, Lynx! You really are a troublemaker!"
And so, at the young age of six moons old, Lynx faced his fears and confronted Birch himself about what being mates really meant. It got ugly, especially when Lynx revealed he was talking to Fern, and Birch attacked Amber, flipping the young cat over, pinning him to the ground, and saying:
"Oh, I was gonna tell you about that now since you're old enough to understand. But, why are you so mad about it? Being mates should be a good thing, because it means we love each other! Oh, and another thing about mates: mates aren't supposed to love anyone else."
That's when Fern showed up to distract Birch. She only had one thing to say to Lynx:
"Run. I know what Birch is going to do to you if you stay here. Something unforgivable, that no cat should do to a cat as young as you. Who knows, he may have already done it to you."
And so, Lynx took Fern's advice and ran far, far away from the loner group that had taken him in. It was drastic, but Lynx swore: if he ever saw Birch, or the loners that ignored his pleas, he didn't know what he was going to do, but it was going to be drastic.
Meanwhile, back at the Twolegplace, Kiara, in her new housefolk's den, was beginning to wonder what happened to Marie, her littermate who had escaped the monster's belly as a kit all those moons ago. The other cats in the neighbourhood, including Colette's sister Dorothy, frequently spun tales of kittypets leaving for the wild, joining Clans of tough forest cats who fought battles with wolves, bears, coyotes, and even each other! Kiara decided that day: she'd leave the warmth and safety of the Twolegplace, all for the sake of finding out what happened to her littermate.
However, in the forest, Lynx was all alone and scared. The forest was a truly dangerous place for one cat, especially one as young as Lynx, and you never know when a coyote is gonna gobble you up; or when a storm would chill you to your bones, and you'd sleep without any cover, never waking up.
That's when a rogue named Lark made an offer with Lynx: come with me and my rogue group, and we'll keep you safe and even teach you a few battle moves to protect yourself. Lynx knew this was the same situation that led him to be manipulated by Birch, but he was desperate for a place to stay and cats to guide him. So Lynx accepted.
When Lynx got to the rogues' hideout, he saw a bunch of cats the same age as him. Lynx began to feel a little safer, and began to hang out with them. One day, however, when he went to be with his new friends Rose, Wheat & Bluebell, Lark chased them off.
"Your training under me should take priority over socializing. Lynx, do you know that we Gemplace Rogues are living our lives under threat?"
"What? Is there a bear creeping around the hideout? Don't worry, Lark, under you, I've gotten so strong, I could beat a bear in a fight!"
"Not exactly, Lynx. This is serious, so I have to fix that reckless attitude of yours. Do you know of DiamondClan?"
"Um, well, I do know about Clans—"
"Good, Lynx. Now pay close attention. DiamondClan is a particularly nasty and violent Clan. We Gemplace Rogues have a claim to the cave they live in that goes back to our ancient ancestors, before the Clans even formed. However, DiamondClan refuses to accept that the gemplace is ours, claiming that they fought off our ancestors to take control of it and that the gemplace has always belonged to them. Don't believe them, Lynx. DiamondClan will do anything to protect their territory. Their society thrives off of the blood of innocent rogues like us."
Under moons of training from Lark, Lynx transformed ino a hardened fighter, ready to defend Lark and the Gemplace Rogues from DiamondClan at a moment's notice. This soured Rose, Wheat & Bluebell's relationship with Lynx, as they felt he was a suck-up to Lark and trying too hard to earn his approval.
One day, when Lynx was 8 moons old, Lark took him to a secret spot in the forest.
"Lynx, this isn't really anything I can talk about in the hideout, but... I must confess, I see you as my mate now."
Lynx's fur began to bristle, remembering what Fern had told him about grown-up cats being mates with younger cats.
"But that's different. You aren't a kit anymore. Be my mate."
Fearing that Lark would react just like Birch if he refused, and not wanting to be alone in the forest again, Lynx reluctantly agreed. However, Lynx would end up developing feelings for Lark as the moons went by. This was the dealbreaker for Rose, Wheat, & Bluebell. Imagine being such a suck-up, that you take your mentor as a mate!
When Lark would leave the Gemplace Rogues' hideout, however, there was another cat who would hang out with Lynx.
Her name was Bat, and while she was quite older than Lynx, the two managed to develop a close friendship. In a way, Bat acted as a sort of mother figure for Lynx, in a much better way than Lark. The two also shared something in common: whereas Lynx was born as a molly, yet felt like a tom and lived as one, Bat was the other way around: born as a tom, but feeling and living like a molly.
However, deep down, Bat knew something was wrong with how Lark was treating Lynx. A cat his age certainly shouldn't be mates with one young as Amber. But, she was scared of confronting Lark, because she knew the penalties of speaking out against a Gemplace Rogue with a high position: she would be exiled and hunted down for sure. Bat also ran the risk of her secret, her relationship with the loner Trudy, being exposed in revenge. The Gemplace Rogues forbade relationships with cats outside of the group, and Trudy, Bat, and/or any kits that would result from the arrangement, would be hunted down, and the Gemplace Rogues would not stop until they all were dead. Bat knew very well how another high-ranking Gemplace Rogue and Rose's father, Viktor, used to have a relationship with a young show cat, but had to end it out of fear of being cast out, disappearing from the show cat's life without a trace.
Moons after Lynx joined, Trudy & Bat had a kit: a little molly kit named Salamander. Bat agreed to have Salamander stay with Trudy to avoid being found out, but one day, Trudy & Salamander decided to pay Bat a visit, and Pearl, one of the Gemplace Rogues saw them and immediately came to the conclusion. As soon as Bat realized Pearl was watching their conversation, she grabbed Salamander and ran off with her and Trudy.
Bat devised a plan to hide Salamander and Trudy away from the Gemplace Rogues' inevitable attack, but while Bat and Salamander managed to survive, Trudy was not so lucky. Viktor ambushed and killed her.
Realizing things were not safe for her and Salamander, Bat decided to leave the Gemplace Rogues once and for all. She searched for shelter, but all of the other Clans denied her, saying they had enough mouths to feed. Bat's only hope was the Clan she had been taught to hate.
DiamondClan.
Thankfully, Roachstar agreed to let her stay after much pressure from the Leader's Guard, and granted her the warrior name Batmoss. But Roachstar, suspicious of the Gemplace Rogues during a period of high tension and multiple attacks by the Gemplace Rogues, Roachstar gave Batmoss one condition: don't be too suspicious, or we'll exile you just in case you're a spy.
Meanwhile, back at the Gemplace Rogues' hideout, Lark had assigned Lynx a mission: kill Jackdusk, the new Leader's Guard member of DiamondClan and a stray from the Twolegplace, and bring the proof back, or else Lynx would have to sleep in a separate nest from Lark.
By now, Lark had taught Lynx that the latter was practically worthless if he couldn't prove his worth to the former, his mate, so he agreed and vowed to do a good job.
However, when Lynx got to DiamondClan, he saw something shocking.
Bat?! So Bat went to DiamondClan and that's where she's been gone for all this time? And she has a kit?! How could Bat betray me and the rest of the Gemplace Rogues like this?
While Lynx was angry with Bat, he had a much more important objective: kill Jackdusk. However, when he finally located Jackdusk and fought him, Lynx started to lose his will to fight midway through.
My target... why is he such a handsome cat?! I don't want to put a paw on him!
Embarrassed by his developing feelings for Jackdusk, Lynx decided to distract himself and interrogate Batmoss about why she left the Gemplace Rogues for DiamondClan.
"It's because they were hunting down me and my kit. You see, Salamanderkit right here? They managed to kill her other mother... My mate, Trudy."
"I-is that true?! They'd try to kill a kit?! But you always said, kits are precious lives!"
"That is true, Lynx. In fact, I was beginning to think about leaving those brutes for quite some time. In fact, I knew something was wrong about you and Lark. A cat his age shouldn't be mates with one as young as you."
The words raced through Lynx. He'd managed to land himself in the same situation as he had been in with him and Birch— but he wasn't a kit! He thought it was okay for them to be mates!
"Well, it isn't, even if you technically weren't a kit. The issue was the power he held over you."
Lynx began to feel disgusted with Lark, a feeling which only grew as he talked more and more with Batmoss. Lark was using him as a pawn in a twisted plot to eliminate a Clan full of cats!
Lynx made his decision. He'd defy Lark and stay in DiamondClan with Batmoss & Jackdusk. Going with Jackdusk, he met with Roachstar to discuss joining. While Roachstar agreed and called a Clan meeting to give Lynx his warrior name of Lynxclaw, he subjected him to the same stringent standards he was holding Batmoss up to: no funny business or you're out.
Over the next period of time, Lynxclaw fell harder and harder in love with Jackdusk, eventually taking him as a mate and picking forget-me-nots from a Twoleg garden to stick in his fur as a sign of devotion to Jackdusk. Lynxclaw and Batmoss also managed to convince their old peers in the Gemplace Rogues to leave the group, starting with Raccoon, a friend of Batmoss's becoming a DiamondClan healer and taking the name Raccoonflower. After Bluebell was killed by the other Gemplace Rogues for failing his task of killing Jackdusk, Rose & Wheat would eventually join as the DiamondClan warriors Rosegleam & Wheatstone.
Lynxclaw, Rosegleam & Wheatsone began to plot out their final revenge against their Gemplace Rogue mentors Lark, Viktor & Pearl, respectively. In one night:
Wheatstone lead Pearl out onto a Thundepath, like Pearl tried to do with him after he failed to kill Amberclaw & Jackdusk, except Pearl actually manages to get hit by a monster: a large, long one that leaves a long trail of blood & guts along the Thunderpath. (For us Twolegs, that's an 18-wheeler.)
Rosegleam baits a vicious pack of wolves and sics them on his own father, Viktor.
Finally, Lynxclaw decides to fight Lark at a Twoleg dump, where he kicks his groomer right into an incinerator, dooming him to a fiery, excruciating death.
After defeating the Gemplace Rogues, Lynxclaw lives a happy life in DiamondClan with Jackdusk (even if he becomes suspicious and lonely every time Jackdusk leaves the territory for his Twilight Force duties), eventually mentoring Salamanderpaw. One day, Lynxclaw finds out he's expecting kits, and is overjoyed. The proof of his and Jackdusk's love! Lynxclaw doesn't retire to the nursery just yet, promising to fight extra hard to protect his kits. Although, the Black Widow Order, a rogue group with extreme religious beliefs, begins to attack DiamondClan. One of their members attacks the nursery, and Lynxclaw fights valiantly, barely managing to drive the attacker off. However, the stress of battle causes Lynxclaw to lose his litter. This news leaves Lynxclaw distraught, and when Sheepfur decides to cheer up Lynxclaw by announcing their pregnancy, it goes very wrong.
Lynxclaw denounces DiamondClan as a Clan of bullies and runs away, leavig DiamondClan to live as a rogue by the name of Lynx again. DiamondClan begins to send patrol after patrol after him in an attempt to convince him to come back, but he cannot be found. Eventually, Lynx calms down, and begins to miss Jackdusk intensely. He runs back to DiamondClan crying and wailing, going right to Jackdusk's nest to cuddle. Lynxclaw realizes who he should be truly mad at: the Black Widow Order. They're the ones who caused him to miscarry in the first place, and he'd also heard that they had taken Rosegleam's littermate Shale, who was left for dead by Viktor for speaking out against him, and indoctrinated him with their ideology. Rosegleam doesn't want to fight his littermate anymore.
Rosegleam helps Lynxclaw plan their ultimate revenge on the Black Widow Order, ending in another night of blood where Amberclaw rampaged through the Black Widow Order's camp, killing many of their followers, and told Shale about how much he was being controlled.
Lynxclaw brings a somewhat reluctant and very shaken Shale back to camp, but Roachstar is reluctant to take another rogue in. What if THIS one is the one that betrays all of DiamondClan? It takes a lot of begging & pleading from Amberclaw & Rosegleam, but eventually Shale is accepted as a DiamondClan warrior, under the name Shalespider.
Moons later, a mysterious cat shows up at DiamondClan's borders, looking for a certain cat. Her description matches Lynxclaw perfectly, and he recognizes the cat— it's his littermate, Kiara! She explains how a cat named Bonbon had showed her the way to the Clan, and Lynxclaw remembered how Bonbon and his fellow rogues Dorian & James stayed in DiamondClan for a while after Lynxclaw found James in the big Twolegplace heavily injured from a battle with one of Jackdusk's fellow Twilight Force cats, Klaus. While James was healing up in DiamondClan (to the dismay of Roachstar), James had explained how him and his fellow rogues had met Kiara sometime in the past, during her travels.
The two decide to go back to the Twolegplace they were raised in, to see how much has changed. They reunite with Dorothy, and discover Jacques and Hermes found forever homes, but there was one cat that Lynxclaw & Kiara couldn't reunite with.
Colette.
She had gotten very sick all of a sudden, and her Twoleg decided to put her down.
When Lynxclaw learns of this, he wails for hours in front of Colette's grave.
Another complication arises while Lynxclaw & Kiara stay in the Twolegplace: Lynxclaw is briefly taken by Twolegs. While he loved the pets they gave him, it was ultimately a trap. Lynxclaw is not happy at all, and devises a plan to escape with Kiara, which works.
Also at the Twolegplace, Lynxclaw meets the new cat Kiara's housefolk had gotten: a little 8-moon-old cat by the name of Gilbert. Lynxclaw becomes attached to Gilbert after learning that Birch was also manipulating him and making him his mate the way he had done the same to Lynxclaw, with Lynxclaw hoping one day to show Gilbert the right path and save him from Birch. (See here for more on Lynxclaw's relationship with Gilbert, just remember Amberclaw = Lynxclaw)
While Lynxclaw wants to stay at the Twolegplace, he ends up having a shocking realization after talking with Dorothy.
"Kiara. We need to go back."
"Why? You just met your brothers and found out they're okay!"
"I had a talk with Dorothy and... and..."
Lynxclaw rolls on his back to show Kiara.
"I think I may be expecting kits. I want to get back to DiamondClan because last time I was expecting kits, I... I..."
"I lost them..."
Lynxclaw begins to sob.
"I want to make sure they're born safe and healthy in DiamondClan!"
"That's perfectly understandable, Lynxclaw. Just one thing. I don't think I can return to my Twolegs after just having reunited with you. Especially considering they have Gilbert now... Can I stay in DiamondClan with you?"
"Sure... I guess Roachstar wouldn't mind a former kittypet joining... I mean, look at me... do you think he knows?"
So the two head back to DiamondClan, Kiara joins and keeps her name, and Lynxclaw eventually gives birth to a litter of 5 kits: Lambkit, Rubykit, Hazekit, Copperkit & Twistkit.
complete lynxclaw family! (minus his dad duke, rip, he's a long-furred gray and white classic tabby tom)
Mother: Colette (RIP), a long-furred seal mackerel torbie point bicolour molly (she/her)
Duke & Colette's kits:
Lynxclaw: a chubby dilute seal classic torbie point bicolour trans tom with forget-me-nots in his fur (he/they/fae)
Kiara: a long-furred caliby molly (she/her)

Hermes: a long-furred ginger and white tabby tom (he/him)
So for a somewhat quick recap of Lynxclaw and Kiara's lore (full lore HERE):
Lynxclaw's original name was Marie, before, when they were 2 moons old, they got out of their housefolk's monster while being taken to the pound, ran into the forest, and upon realizing that this may be their life from now on, changed their name to Lynx, and then a bunch of stuff happens that I won't put here so I don't have to TW this. Meanwhile, Kiara spend most of the time in her new home wondering where her littermate went, and when she was 6 moons old, she left home and embarked on a long journey to find out where her littermate went.
Later, after Lynx defects from the Gemplace Rogues and joins DiamondClan, taking the name Lynxclaw, Dorian's Rogues decide to stay with DiamondClan while James, one of their cats, heals from his injuries (long story that I won't spoil). There, James mentions having met Kiara, and her predicament. Lynxclaw remembers the name, but he can't exactly put his paw on it. After the rogues leave DiamondClan, they decide to track down Kiara, with Bonbon (another one of Dorian's Rogues) deciding to guide Kiara back to DiamondClan, just in case Lynxclaw is her long-lost littermate, which he is. Once they're reunited, the two decide to pay their Twolegplace a visit, where Lynxclaw learns of Colette's death from illness via Jacques & Hermes, and meets Kiara's housefolk's new cat, Gilbert (who becomes a very important cat to Lynxclaw, but I won't elaborate since this is getting long, just check out this and remember Amberclaw = Lynxclaw), but their visit is later cut short when Lynxclaw learns he is expecting kids and decides to head back to DiamondClan so nothing bad happens to them (like last time). Kiara decides to stay in DiamondClan with her littermate, as a bonus.
Harecloud: white & brown ticked tabby trans molly (she/it)
Both senior warriors in DiamondClan, not much to say abt em but Harecloud is somewhat high-strung (which may have been exacerbated by a moment that we'll get to later, and potentially started when she lived through the Blackened Sky aka the Mount St. Helens eruption as a kit) and often seeks out Freezefeather for comfort
Fernflight: blue-gray & white mackerel tabby tom (he/him)
Dusttail: brown & creamy white ticked tabby tom (he/him)
Both of them are in the Leader's Guard, an elite class of DiamondClan warriors dedicated to protecting and caring for the current leader and their kin (usually their mate, siblings & kits). While Fernflight is brave and dedicated to his position as well as his mate Sapphirestep, Dusttail's enthusiasm has begun to fade due to various losses he's suffered, often spending time by himself and meditating on how, to him, nothing can ever last forever.
And finally, Moonfoot and his littermate!
Moonfoot: blue-gray & white ticked tabby trans tom (he/him)
Bluebell: gray & white classic tabby tom (he/him)
Originally, Moonpaw & Bluebellpaw were DiamondClan apprentices, vowing, like most apprentices, to one day be the greatest warriors DiamondClan has ever seen, by each other's side. Until, Bluebellpaw began to regularly visit some outsider cats, who told him endlessly about how DiamondClan was raising him to become a pawn in their great evil plan to take control of the gemplace. Moonpaw, as well as Harecloud and Dusttail, were deeply shaken by Bluebellpaw's disappearance, although Moonfoot would continue life seemingly as normal, taking Sheepfur as a mate and helping out in the healers' den from time to time. Until one day, Bluebellpaw was nowhere to be seen, having been fully indoctrinated into the Gemplace Rogues. Later on, when the Gemplace Rogues ramp up their attacks on DiamondClan, Bluebell is told to kill Jackdusk, the new warrior in DiamondClan's Leader's Guard that may be the key to the Gemplace Rogues' downfall.
When Moonfoot recognizes Bluebell, he is reluctant to attack his littermates and instead tries to convince him to go back to DiamondClan. However, Bluebell is too far gone. Reluctantly, Moonfoot defeats Bluebell in battle, and the injured cat is rushed back to the Gemplace Rogues' hideout.
Raccoon, the rogues' healer, is told by Lark, Viktor & Pearl, 3 high-ranking Gemplace Rogues, to give Bluebell poison as punishment for failing, but to disguise it as medicine. Fearing punishment, Raccoon does as she was told.
Bluebell dies. When Moonfoot is told of this by Raccoonflower after she defects and joins DiamondClan as a healer, he is distraught. So are Dusttail and Harecloud once they find out.
And then, many moons later, Moonfoot himself ends up dying, exhausting the last of his energy to help the healers cure a nasty greencough epidemic. Fernflight and especially Dusttail can't believe they're each other's only surviving siblings, and Moonfoot's mate Sheepfur & their kits, as well as Moonfoot's apprentice, Jackdusk & Lynxclaw's kit Lambpaw, are also hit by grief, with Lambpaw in particular getting to the point of wanting to be rid of his special connection to StarClan, all because he can't bear to be constantly plagued with the spirit of his dead mentor following him around constantly.
so it seems like lynx caliby point amberclaw wins! but there's something else i may want you to decide...
you see, i dont think amberclaw works as a name anymore with this new design. i wanna keep the "-claw" suffix, but i've workshopped a few potential new names for my darling baby boy...
Sorry for DISAPPEARING but ive just been less fixated on diamondclan lately :( i do have something big planned that i hope to do tho! in the meantime i thought abt tortie point amberclaw... boy's about to get redesigned a THIRD time 😭😭😭 but this time i'll let you decide whether i should or not
dorian's rogues pngs! i only did 4 cuz i do not want to waste my pwecious tablet storage on drawing every single possible rogue in his group since there are a LOT
Allegiances descriptions
Dorian: cream tabby tom with a white belly and paws & long, curly fur (Selkirk Rex Longhair) (he/him)
James: small white and black trans tom (he/it)
Bonbon: chubby white tabby tom with patches of brown tabby fur, formerly a kittypet (he/him)
JP: long-furred white and ginger splotched tabby tom with a dark green bandana around his neck, formerly a barn cat (he/him)
Also gonna share some stuff abt Dorian's Rogues under the cut (long warning):
So you know how in from eroica with love (the series these guys in particular are based on characters from) dorian is in disguise a lot? Well in the diamondclan universe the idea of disguises like how they work with humans would either be really impractical or basically just "a toofpick changes everything" considering They Are Cats so I've decided this is how it works:
They just bring out one of the rogues and have another (usually Dorian since he can do a lot of voices and because he's the best at making his meows sound like they're coming from somewhere else) in a bush or behind some other obscuring thing close by, throwing their voice while the other rogue lipsyncs. This isn't always foolproof but it often works
James was born to a kittypet mother and stray father. He was a kittypet for the first little part of his life, but upon hearing he was going to be headed to a different home, he just decided "nah fuck this" and ran off to become an alley cat. This is where he learned his Supreme Begging Skills (basically be as cute/annoying as you can until the Twoleg feeds you) as well as how he developed his taste for Twoleg garbage (he especially likes banana peels and brown bananas); because of how much Twoleg garbage James eats, he has an unusually strong stomach and can eat things most cats would get sick from (crow-food, some *mildly* poisonous herbs like snowberries, etc.) usually with little to no ill effects. (There are limits to this, though. James is still affected by catnip and hallucinogenic dreaming-mushrooms, but requires higher amounts than usual of both to be affected, and he would still die if he were to eat deathberries or similarly toxic plants like water hemlock.)
However, a lot of Twolegs also considered James a nuisance for digging through their trash as well as incessantly meowing for food, and would yell, throw things at it and chase it off when they saw it, as well as other cats considering its behaviour and mannerisms "weird", which has given James some issues about feeling appreciated. It has a tendency to get upset and sulk if Dorian appears to be giving more attention to other cats like Klaus, or if Dorian scolds it for messing up. While James was a bit pluckier back before it met Dorian, it seems that it may have become a bit clingy with its beloved mate...
James also has hoarded up a huge collection of things in the rogues' hideout and home base, mostly items used as currency by various cat groups, such as pinecones and bits of seaglass. Whenever James encounters any of these currency items, he will collect as much of them as he can find or that he can carry, whichever comes first, and will not give them up at all. He also hates hunting and believes it wastes energy for the long travels Dorian and his rogues often go on (as well as James being more used to scavenging), so as one of Dorian's number 2s (alongside Bonbon) and his main advisor, he often makes the rogues eat old prey or Twoleg garbage he scavenged from a nearby Twolegplace so as not to waste precious energy on hunting. This is generally unpopular among the rogues. (I mean if I had to share a few pieces of rotting prey with a bunch of other cats and basically pray we don't get carrionplace disease because unlike James, we're just normal cats who didn't eat Twoleg garbage all the time and thus would develop a resistance to food poisoning, I would be mad too)
James is friends with Wheatstone and Amberclaw from DiamondClan, but Roachstar does not like James at all (because James happens to be just as greedy as him) and will often try to chase James (and the other rogues, esp if Dorian has his eyes on Roachstar's gem collection) off DiamondClan territory on threat of calling the Leader's Guard in on them, so Amberclaw (and sometimes Wheatstone) often only get to see James if Dorian's Rogues are involved in Twilight Force missions (which they often are).
Okay I think we're out of James infodump territory now (i am kinda hyperfixated on him AND his fewl counterpart tho), so here's stuff abt the other cats. First: Dorian will often gather pretty-looking things, such as flowers from Twoleg gardens and colourful feathers, to wear as accessories.
Dorian briefly was involved with one of CloudClan's healers, Berrywing, who was also good friends with Hazyspeck before they left for DiamondClan. Berrywing, alongside CloudClan's other healer Plumleaf and CloudClan warrior Dappledpelt, was part of a group of cats with special powers, Berrywing's being vastly improved intelligence while Plumleaf has heightened senses and future sight and Dappledpelt has incredible physical strength and agility (before you say I'm copying the Three, 1) these guys aren't related and 2) these guys are also based off of fewl characters from the first chapter in *1976* who coincidentally have very similar powers to the Three 👇)
Anyways, Berrywing briefly considered running away to join Dorian's Rogues (and so did Hazyspeck, who had a crush on Dorian but Dorian never seemed to notice them), but after Dorian left, they couldn't track him down, which Berrywing took as a sign from StarClan that he should stay with his Clan instead of run away
(Berrywing, Plumleaf and Dappledpelt)
Remember how I said Bonbon's Twolegs were an elderly couple? Well, you may say I'm cruel for this, but they died some time after Bonbon left with Dorian, James and the others. At least they're one of the few responsible pet owners in the diamondclan universe and actually got their cat neutered
At this point you're probably still wondering who the fuck JP is since I have never talked abt him. Anyways, he's a barn cat who Dorian, James and Bonbon knew, who was also part of the OG group who ran away. JP was already kind of a free spirit who wished he could travel wherever the wind took him, so Dorian kinda granted that wish. JP was probably one of the only cats in the OG group who could fight decently (Bonbon and Dorian being kittypets, and James being a coward who would rather run away than fight most of the time), and he was pretty crucial to their survival early on before more loners & rogues more familiar with the forest joined, due to his knowledge of the forest and its dangers (from when he'd wander into the woods surrounding the farm, while other barn cats took over mousing duties) James also has some survival knowledge but it mostly just boils down to "hoard as much as you can and that way you won't die"
Wherever Dorian's Rogues go, they leave a lot of rumours with them. Some of the rumours are benign, but others paint them as ruthless and violent bandits who attack innocent cat groups and raid them of their supplies. Some cats even say that they even trained in the Dark Forest (despite training in the DF being a foreign concept to most cats, even the five main Clans in the story). A lot of rumours are either born out of sensationalized accounts of their antics or even cases of mistaken identity.
Usually, a few cats at a time set out with Dorian, James and Bonbon on their travels, with others staying back to guard the hideout.
Dorian has a similar reputation as a "Tomcat Killer" to Jackdusk, with his charisma and good looks drawing in other toms, who often end up joining him and his rogues (and becoming part of the polycule lol)
Dorian and James do have kits at one point, and Shalespider (being Dorian's DiamondClan BF) watches them from time to time. I'm kinda split about whether or not I should make Dorian actually leave the kits with Shalespider because he doesn't want them growing up in an environment like his rogue group where the kits wouldn't get to see their parents often and would also potentially be targeted in attacks by other cats who Dorian has stolen from, but I also wanna make sure Dorian and James actually get to spend time raising their kits... maybe the kits get left with Shalespider but Dorian and James make sure to visit them often because dori already visits shalespider a lot
more diamondclan character pngs: this time it's the other gemplace rogue refugees (+ shalespider!)
im getting pretty good at golden tabbies it seems
also yes i did two designs for salamanderkit/blaze: one when she first comes to diamondclan with batmoss and the other as an adult. because she's so scrappy, she gets to have a lot of scars (including some from the time she and amethystpaw ran away and klaus mistook her for james because they look kinda similar. methinks klaus should have considered why "james" wasn't terrified out of "his" mind when they crossed paths)
