Some Thoughts

I like to think Diana and Prosperina got along really well. Both of them had a lot of energy and little patience for sexism and the double standards the court held for boys and girls. But while Diana had to swallow her anger and opinions in public, Prosperina never had a problem running around and tearing her dresses. But now Prosperina has changed, morphing herself into a picture perfect lady and it infuriates Diana. She’s mostly channeled her anger about this at Dom, filling letters and his ear with her opinion of what happened.

Dom is often a recipient of Diana’s anger because he’s the most tangible thing to be angry about when it comes to the Queentrial, the broken friendships, Victoria’s tears, etc.

Diana has become a pro at catching when a sister is in need and swooping in to excuse them from a persistent suitor, an awkward encounter, or any other obstacle that comes in their way.

Diana just loves all the girls very much and wants them all to be happy and loved. 

Diana has kissed Gerard four times. Once, when she was nine and Dom dared her to run up to him and kiss him on the cheek. She had squealed and kissed him soundly on the mouth, just to prove a point. A second time on the cheek when she was eighteen and wished him good luck in the Feats, tying her favor around his wrist. A third time just to try it, over a decade after their first kiss and when they were very different people. And a last time as a good bye; she kissed him on the forehead as she took her favor back, anger and sadness making waves beneath her skin. 

Diana once wrote a letter to Griffin while he was at war, mostly because Dom wasn’t answering and she wanted someone to smack him over the head. 

The piano is her favorite. 

Her mother is unable to have any more children.

Diana has a pet owl (I’m all about that symbolism).

They weren’t so much best friends as they were extensions of each other. The thing was, they could function without the other. They just didn’t want to.
