“I cannot believe that just happened.”
“Do I even want to know?”
My head hurts and drinkin’ didn’t help. Well, it did and then –– I forgot. Hi, though.
Okay then... Hi to you too. So, does your head still hurt?
“Oh shit. Were you in here all this time, did you saw me dancing? “
“Yeah, kind of, but I didn’t exactly notice you.”
“I’ve probably got a stack of books I haven’t finished.”
“Not much of a reader, huh?”
“I… actually am out early and able to enjoy a few hours to myself… and I literally don’t know what to do.”
“You could read a book or watch movies? That’s what I normally do anyway. It's better than nothing”
Is this movie that I think you’ll like This guy decides to quit his job and heads to New York City This cowboy’s running from himself And she’s been living on the highest shelf
You have a very lovely voice.
Been in America for awhile now but I keep forgetting I’m not legal to buy alcohol here. I could use a drink.
You’ll get used to it soon enough and I wouldn’t be surprised if you found a few people who are underage, but has alcohol around.
Cason smiled as he listened to her talk. She became more and more interesting to him…someone who seemed well put together. He felt obligated to tell her some factual things about him. So he planned to. “A bakery, huh?” He asked curiously, not making fun of her at all. “My favorite food is Sushi…I was born in Manhattan, grew up all over New York. Don’t have any siblings, or if I do, I don’t know about them,” he said lightly. “I never wake up early, I like my sleep. My middle name is Andrew, oh, and I’m married,” he said in the most serious tone he could. After looking at her for a minute he broke a smile. “Nah, I’m just fucking with you. I’m not married,” he added before laughing. “You could sue me? Alright, I’ll watch my back.” When she talked about having him do a tattoo on her he smiled. “I’d be honored, I love doing them and so far I really like you. A library? I hate reading, but props to you if you like it.”
She nodded to his question before looking straight ahead. As he spoke, she listened while smiling. Diana felt better now that they were getting to know each other more. It made her feel more comfortable. Except, once the word, "Marriage", was heard, her eyes widened as she looked at him while her smile disappeared completely. Even when she tried not too look so surprised, she couldn't help it. It was only when he showed that he was kidding that she sighed in relief. "Good. I wouldn't want your wife chasing after me once she finds out what we're up to," she said before giggling. She's thought about the kind of tattoo she would want, such as birds, a quote, books, etc., but nothing has ever caught her attention as much. "Maybe you can give me a lower back tattoo someday." She smirked at him, not being completely serious, but just wanting to see his reaction. "Reading isn't so bad once you find books you actually like and take the time to read them. Oh, and by the way, if I ever do have a very popular bakery, maybe I'll place one in Manhattan, so whenever you visit there, I can travel to New York easily."
About how long I have to lay here for my essay to disappear.
Is it that difficult?
My heart. My achey breaky heart, if you will.
I hear ice cream and movies is a cure? Or, at least it’s a good distraction.
“I don’t know…tell me something interesting. What’s your dream job, what’s your middle name…things like that,” he said with a shrug. Cason was never good at getting to know people, but with Diana he really wanted to try. “Why can’t I be eager for both?” He asked, looking down at her as he bit down on his lip. “I’m just excited to get to know you, sue me,” he said jokingly. When she asked what he did, he hesitated. Some people have a huge deal about tattoos, but he figured she had to have seen at least one of his during their conversation. “I’m a tattoo artist,” he answered softly. “What about you?”
Casually, she shrugged, unsure of where to start, so she did it quite randomly. “Well... Pasta is one of my favorite foods, the others include noodles, pizza, burgers, and ice cream. I don’t have a favorite television show and I don’t mind waking up early or sleeping late. Oh, and my dream job is to someday own an international bakery store and my middle name is Abigail.” With so many details given, she hoped she didn’t scare him off already. Her smile grew bigger by his response and was glad to know he was happy about both things. "What about you? Are you going to tell me anything about yourself? Besides your name, obviously." The brunette rolled her eyes playfully then shook her head. “I could sue you if I wanted to, but you should be lucky I don’t want to.” Lightly squeezing his hand, she stayed by his side as she continued to walk. Diana wasn’t a person who minded tattoos as long as they were appropriate. Not once had she gotten one though, but she thought about it before. “Maybe if I decide to get one, you could do it for me. As for me, I work at a library. I’m not a manager or anything, but I still enjoy it.“
“—What? You could totally tame a velociraptor. It’s all about genetics and.. all that sciencey stuff.”
"It probably wouldn't be easy though considering their teeth and how they look like a gigantic dog that could tackle you."
I don’t think it should hurt this much still. I feel like someone’s hollowed out my insides.
What hurts exactly?
“You’re right, I don’t know that much about you. So tell me more,” he requested as he leaned closer to her.” Cason had no idea how much Diana really liked him. She barely knew him. His normal fear appeared, once she got to know him even in the slightest she’d run for the hills. That always happened. “Thanks, I don’t blush much, though, so feel special…Diana,” he said, lingering on her name. “Okay,” he took her hand and walked her towards his car. “I know a great Italian place right by my work. They know my order by heart.”
The moment he leaned in, her cheeks turned to a light shade of pink before she could glance away. “Like... Like what?” she asked casually. Honestly, she spent more time with her books than socialize with other people and she didn’t mind that. However, that was something she didn’t look forward into telling him. She didn’t want him to think how much of a loser she is, but she didn’t want to lie either. “I do feel special since you mentioned that.” Biting her bottom lip, she looked back up at him then raised an eyebrow as soon as he took her hand. “Someone’s a bit eager. What for though? The date or the kiss?” When he said something about the place near his work, couldn’t wait to ask, “What’s your job anyway?”
Shh…shh, I’m thinking.
What about?
What’s even appealing about me now that I’m not a virgin? Oh, god. I’ve just fucked myself up for life, haven’t I? I have nothing left to offer. My ass has been tainted.
You’re actually asking that? You’re still the same you, right? Minus the virginity, but you can still have the same personality you did before. Besides, I heard people are prettier after they lose their virginity.
Cason dropped it, completely forgetting what they were talking about. “Well those people are dumbasses, in my opinion. I think you’re amazing and I only met you like…twenty minutes ago?” He admired her even more. It was so unexpected for him to run into someone that he actually got along with. “You should smile more, I like your smile,” he said as he blushed a little, something he hadn’t done in a while. “Are we going to go get some pasta, or what?”
In which she was happy when he didn’t mention it again. “Come on. I’m not that great. You don’t even know much about me.” She was quite surprised with how fast the two of them were moving, but she wanted a slow pace and wondered how he would handle that. “Thanks. You should blush more often too. It make you look twice as adorable.” Diana giggled quietly then nodded in response to his question. “Yes, please. I’m starving.”
