“I cannot believe that just happened.”
Been in America for awhile now but I keep forgetting I’m not legal to buy alcohol here. I could use a drink.
This country fucking sucks, man. That's not new.
Casually, she shrugged, unsure of where to start, so she did it quite randomly. “Well… Pasta is one of my favorite foods, the others include noodles, pizza, burgers, and ice cream. I don’t have a favorite television show and I don’t mind waking up early or sleeping late. Oh, and my dream job is to someday own an international bakery store and my middle name is Abigail.” With so many details given, she hoped she didn’t scare him off already. Her smile grew bigger by his response and was glad to know he was happy about both things. “What about you? Are you going to tell me anything about yourself? Besides your name, obviously.” The brunette rolled her eyes playfully then shook her head. “I could sue you if I wanted to, but you should be lucky I don’t want to.” Lightly squeezing his hand, she stayed by his side as she continued to walk. Diana wasn’t a person who minded tattoos as long as they were appropriate. Not once had she gotten one though, but she thought about it before. “Maybe if I decide to get one, you could do it for me. As for me, I work at a library. I’m not a manager or anything, but I still enjoy it.“
Cason smiled as he listened to her talk. She became more and more interesting to him...someone who seemed well put together. He felt obligated to tell her some factual things about him. So he planned to. “A bakery, huh?” He asked curiously, not making fun of her at all. “My favorite food is Sushi...I was born in Manhattan, grew up all over New York. Don’t have any siblings, or if I do, I don’t know about them,” he said lightly. “I never wake up early, I like my sleep. My middle name is Andrew, oh, and I’m married,” he said in the most serious tone he could. After looking at her for a minute he broke a smile. “Nah, I’m just fucking with you. I’m not married,” he added before laughing. “You could sue me? Alright, I’ll watch my back.” When she talked about having him do a tattoo on her he smiled. “I’d be honored, I love doing them and so far I really like you. A library? I hate reading, but props to you if you like it.”
The moment he leaned in, her cheeks turned to a light shade of pink before she could glance away. “Like… Like what?” she asked casually. Honestly, she spent more time with her books than socialize with other people and she didn’t mind that. However, that was something she didn’t look forward into telling him. She didn’t want him to think how much of a loser she is, but she didn’t want to lie either. “I do feel special since you mentioned that.” Biting her bottom lip, she looked back up at him then raised an eyebrow as soon as he took her hand. “Someone’s a bit eager. What for though? The date or the kiss?” When he said something about the place near his work, couldn’t wait to ask, “What’s your job anyway?”
“I don’t know...tell me something interesting. What’s your dream job, what’s your middle name...things like that,” he said with a shrug. Cason was never good at getting to know people, but with Diana he really wanted to try. “Why can’t I be eager for both?” He asked, looking down at her as he bit down on his lip. “I’m just excited to get to know you, sue me,” he said jokingly. When she asked what he did, he hesitated. Some people have a huge deal about tattoos, but he figured she had to have seen at least one of his during their conversation. “I’m a tattoo artist,” he answered softly. “What about you?”
I don’t think it should hurt this much still. I feel like someone’s hollowed out my insides.
Nothing alcohol can’t fix.
Honestly, what’s the damn different between drapes and curtains.. I went to go ask for drapes and the women looked at me like I was pyscho.
Who the fuck cares, man. I just used the first thing I saw at the store that looked like it would cover my window.
In which she was happy when he didn’t mention it again. “Come on. I’m not that great. You don’t even know much about me.” She was quite surprised with how fast the two of them were moving, but she wanted a slow pace and wondered how he would handle that. “Thanks. You should blush more often too. It make you look twice as adorable.” Diana giggled quietly then nodded in response to his question. “Yes, please. I’m starving.”
“You’re right, I don’t know that much about you. So tell me more,” he requested as he leaned closer to her.” Cason had no idea how much Diana really liked him. She barely knew him. His normal fear appeared, once she got to know him even in the slightest she’d run for the hills. That always happened. “Thanks, I don’t blush much, though, so feel special...Diana,” he said, lingering on her name. “Okay,” he took her hand and walked her towards his car. “I know a great Italian place right by my work. They know my order by heart.”
Diana shook her head, not wanting to really answer his question. “Nevermind. It’s not important,” she said, hoping he would drop that topic. Pursing her lips, she only gave a shrug, knowing she was going to sound like a loser at any second. “Not a lot of people seemed interested in me and the few that did… Well, I just wasn’t interested in them. I know. It sounds pretty lame, doesn’t it?” The way he said her name, she couldn’t help, but smile a bit more. This wasn’t what she expected, but she enjoyed talking to him after all. “I think I’ll stick with Cason.”
Cason dropped it, completely forgetting what they were talking about. “Well those people are dumbasses, in my opinion. I think you’re amazing and I only met you like...twenty minutes ago?” He admired her even more. It was so unexpected for him to run into someone that he actually got along with. “You should smile more, I like your smile,” he said as he blushed a little, something he hadn’t done in a while. “Are we going to go get some pasta, or what?”
Staring back at him, she couldn’t tell if he was being honest or not, but there was no harm in giving a person a chance. “Sorry,” she said quietly, knowing what she asked early wasn’t in the nicest way possible. She gave him a small smile and placed a few strands of hair behind her ear. “Thank you. That’s very sweet of you to say. And no, I didn’t. I don’t think you did either too. I’m Diana. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Sorry for what?” He asked, looking down at her. “What about you, why don’t you have a boyfriend?” Cason asked curiously. “You’re very beautiful and seem quite intelligent,” he added honestly. “You’re welcome. Diana,” He repeated, listening to how pretty her name was. “Nice to meet you, Diana. I’m Cason. Some people call me Case or things like that, but it’s entirely up to you,” he said with a smile.
“Ooookay then.” Crossing her arms, she tilted her head slightly to the right while still keeping her eyes on him. “Why’s that? Are you not so serious about relationships?” Not knowing much about the guy made her curious and it seemed a bit odd to her that he hasn’t been on a date in a while. It actually made her think that he was some kind of heart breaker, but she tried to think right past it. “Uh… Yes, people have. Mostly elderly people, but thanks anyway.”
“I have my reasons,” Cason said bluntly. He looked down at the tattoo on the side of his hand of the date his ex had died. “I was serious about relationships once, it just never ends well for me,” he said as he looked into her eyes. It was going to take more than one date for him to open up to her, but he could see it happening. “Well, I’m not elderly and I think your eyes are beautiful. Did you ever tell me your name? I don’t think you did.”
Chandler gnawed on her lip slightly, thinking whether he wanted to tell him or not of the significance. But, somehow, without her knowing, the ecstasy in her system made her an open book. “It’s the day my brother and father died.” She admitted, feeling somewhat vulnerable in the moment. She kept her back to him, never facing him once. She wasn’t quite sure she could look him in the eye right now. “Doing it here is fine.” She said, “I like it better actually.” She told him, still observing other parts of his place. “I have a lot just for the hell of it. But it’s stuff I actually wanted, too.”
When she said it was the date her brother and father died he sighed immediately. It was because he knew the feeling of loss, and he himself had a date of the day he’d lost a loved one. “I’m sorry...and I’m sorry for saying I’m sorry, because I know it doesn’t help for shit,” he said as he stood up and approached her. He rested his arm on hers gently, knowing she probably didn’t want to face him. “You don’t have to talk about it. But I know it hurts, okay?” Cason extended his arm around her and pointed to the date on the side of his thumb. “If you do want to talk, I’m here. People kind of use me as a therapist when they get tattooed, but I actually care what you have to say.” Chandler was bringing out a side of Cason that no one had seen in years, it was almost scaring him. “I have a portrait of Xavier on the side of my arm. Just wanted it because he’s special,” he said before shrugging.
“A date. In roman numerals. On the back of my neck.” Chandler began, not smiling but not necessarily frowning eihter. “I have a lot of tattoos, but I just remembered one I wanted when I was a teenager that I just never got that… meant something.” Chandler looked around Carson’s apartment once again, feeling somewhat of a weird feeling that she was at this person’s place twice in a short amount of time.
Cason was never one to open up to people. He had never had a solid family, no blood related connections, and the only girlfriend he ever had was killed. That’s why he didn’t date anymore. It turned him colder than he already was. “What’s the date?” He asked softly. “I can do it here, if you want. I just sterilized a round of needles, but if you’d prefer to go to the shop I understand,” he said honestly, not wanting to make her uncomfortable in anyway. “I have a few tattoos that were just for the hell of it, but most mean something to me,” he admitted.
Shit, detailing. That’s fucking crazy. He must be in some awful pain. I guess you’re too tired out for me to ask to get a tattoo done?
No...I’d never be too tired for that. What do you want done, babe?
That’s actually a perfect way to think about it, but I’m a perfectionist. Hopefully I’ll get over that sooner than later.
Oh, so am I. I won’t do some tattoos because I just don’t think I’m the right person for it. What ideas do you have? C’mon, be adventurous. Or give me something to work with, I could sketch up an idea you give me.
I’m not the biggest fan of needles, but mostly I’m scared to death I’ll get something I’ll regret. Not only am I indecisive I’m constantly re-thinking what I want which warrants me to just stay away from it until I’m absolutely sure for more than a month.
The way I look at it is eventually we all regret something in our life. Even if it’s a bad haircut, an ex, anything, but it’s part of who you are. Tattoos are like...a timeline. You can look at it and remember what your life was like at that time, sometimes it can be motivating. It becomes part of you, like those memories. I have a half sleeve and like...ten other tattoos, so I know this.
Shit. You lived in New York? What’s that place like…? I’ve always wanted to go.. Dunno why. Just seems like a cool place.
Born in Manhattan but I moved around a lot as I got older...so yeah. It’s great. Lot’s of opportunities, some good people. It’s a little too crowded for my taste though.
That does sound epic. Maybe when I get over being terrified of the tattoo process, I’ll come to you for mine?
Sure, I’d be honored to do it. What scares you about it?
