Yes, that’s a black bear who approached the front door of my house. And no, I did not have a picnic basket waiting for him, so he left. 🐻

They’re here! 🌸🌵Gorgeous cactus flowers bloomed just in time for Easter. 🐣 🐇 May your day blossom with unexpected miracles. ✨
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! 🍀 Celebrate with TWIXT, a magical, Irish time travel romance, certain to remind you of the eternal power of love (with Celtic fairies thrown in for good measure! 💚). https://www.amazon.com/Twixt-Enchanted-Outlaws-Book-1-ebook/dp/B006NKND5A/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=2Q9QFO0PTV04M&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.9u_a1QwVMWGxs62RmvGVXg.MZF4hH6XAp2lA9b0YFzHd01PqnHTjeS5qgqlH0PeHIE&dib_tag=se&keywords=twixt+diane+j.+reed&qid=1773776062&sprefix=twixt+diane+j.+reed%2Caps%2C196&sr=8-1
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! 🍀 We certainly have the luck o’ the Irish in Colorado—beautiful sunshine & 60 degrees. ☀️ Hope you find a pot o’ gold in the simple joys of family, friends & great Guinness🍺
TRIGGER WARNING—this post is not for the squeamish: That moment when you spot mountain lion tracks in the snow next to your house and then stumble upon the kill site on your daily hiking route. 😮 🥾
Happy Winter Solstice! Sometimes the magic happens when you least expect it…I was out hiking today and stopped to say a prayer beside my favorite sacred tree that had been modified over centuries by a Native American tribe. When I finished my prayer, I glanced up and spied a bald eagle hovering over the tree for quite some time as though it had the supernatural power to float. 🦅 To say I was in awe is an understatement. May your holiday season be filled with similar wonders and hushed moments that make your heart feel full and close to all that is beautiful & sacred.🎄💛
Hello September! 🍁🍂 As summer began to wrap up, we took our boys on a wonderful trip to the “Magic Kingdom” with one of their favorite Aunties! 🏰 What a joy to spend time with our beloveds before the boys went back to college! My favorite part? Exploring the Star Wars section at night & feeling like we walked straight inside the film at Jabba the Hut’s joint. The power of George Lucas’ stories live on… ✨
California Dreaming with my favorite guy! So lucky to view these lovely sights while on another work trip for my book & to visit with such dear & precious souls! 📚💛
Beautiful Moonset in Colorado this morning. 🌕 May today you receive surprising illuminations. ✨🌙 💛
Happy holidays to you & yours! Here’s hoping your celebrations are merry & bright & include a few delightful new books! 📚🎄🎁
Book research trip to Spain filled with warmth, dear companions & amazing wine.🍷 Andalucía will stay in my heart for a very long time 💛 📚
They’re here! Leaf peeping time 🍁🍂💛
Browns Creek Falls—six-mile round trip hike through Heaven ⛰️☀️🌸
This charming church, built in 1854 in rural Oregon, was where my father became a pastor in his senior years to our close-knit community of farmers & ranchers. No one cared what denomination people adhered to or how they voted. What we cared about was praying for each other, being there for each other, and lifting up one another in faith & grace. We put on original plays for Christmas & Easter, held Harvest Festivals, and entered children on floats in the nearby Lamb Parade. We put out wildfires on each other’s farms, delivered each other’s calves & brought in hay bales before thunderstorms, never forgetting to make meals & visit the sick or lonely. We only passed a donation plate for those in need, not to pad the coffers of distant corporations. But most of all, we LOVED. We laughed & cried with those we loved & welcomed anyone who wanted to experience that love. Maybe it’s time for modern churches to remember such values that linger in the heart long after the torrents of dogma & politics wane. Love is what remains. 💛 🌈☀️
SUPERBLOOM! We’ve had a very wet summer & the wildflowers & songbirds are out in full force. Lovely week to hit the trails 🌸🌼🌺
It’s the HOLY GRAIL of wildflowers! I’ve lived in Colorado for 10 years & never found the rare Fairy Slipper Orchid until a hike last weekend. Fairy dreams do exist! The magic is real…🧚🏻♀️ 🌸
Welcome Summer Solstice! We greeted the dawn at the practice run course for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race on top of “America’s Mountain” at 14,000 feet (the finals take place this weekend). Nothing like seeing a sublime sunrise while race cars swerve by with gigantic motors grinding at a hundred miles an hour! The boys were thrilled—vroom! 🏎️ ☀️
