And So It Begins
Chord felt like a total idiot. Of course she thought he was a complete weirdo. He was approaching her like he was a crazy person. “Oh right. Well Dianna. Just wanted to say you’re really pretty and I’m going to go now because I’m being so strange and I definitely do not want to freak out you.” He laughed a little and licked his lips. Chord played with his empty coffee cup before standing up. “So maybe I’ll see you around. Or something.” He walked and tossed the container in the trash before looking back over at her and giving her a quick wave.
Dianna nodded. She noticed the boy seemed really uncomfortable and embarrassed. She thought it took a lot of guts to go up to a girl and tell her she's pretty and then start a conversation with her like that. The blonde didn't say much more and just let Chord walk away. Dianna just sat there and thought that most guys would never do that. These days, girls get texts or emails to be asked on dates or be told all sorts of things. Rare are the guys who have the courage to go up to a girl whom they find attractive.
Dianna looked back at the boy who was walking out the door and she felt bad for him, for thinking he was weird. He was rather charming, she had to admit. Maybe he was just trying to get in her pants like all the other guys, but not one guy had ever done what Chord did. Dianna put away her phone and ran after the boy "Hey! ....Chord!", she let out and then walked up to him "I'm... I'm sorry... I just... It doesn't happen often... To have a guy come up to me to tell me those kind of things... I guess I was a little weirded out... But I admire your courage", she explained, smiling genuinely for once.
