It’s so concerning how social-media has glamourised the worst of human attributes: vanity, exaggerated self-importance, boastfulness, materialism, deception, envy, ostentation, narcissism, superiority. Please don’t be programmed into believing that any of these traits are positive, they’re not.

According to Eckhart Tolle, people often see the stories that they have about the person instead of the actual person. Sometimes, they don’t even see the person at all, just the made-up version with all the past experiences they shared. So Eckhart says that the solution to that is to become present with the person in front of you and see them the way they are now. Let go of all the stories and just observe them now, as if you are seeing them for the first time. This practice is meant to dissolve negativity and conflict.
