Ok but SERIOUSLY Sorin doesn’t deserve all this hate.

I don’t care if I loose followers over this but I don’t think Sorin deserves as much demonising as you are throwing out? And here are my reasons for thinking this: 

Sorin not getting the signal was an honest mistake, it is even shown before Nahiri arrived he was unconscious following the making of Avacyn. He even explains this to Nahiri only to be returned with hostility. Yes I would understand why she is angry but at the same time if things were an honest mistake, and he didn’t realise it would stop the signal then thats that. In fact it is shown that he does care for Nahiri and he was concerned 

“ He manipulated the muscles of his face to form a smile, and reached out to place a hand on her shoulder.”

“ Sorin withdrew his hand. “The Eldrazi have broken free of their bonds?” “

 “ A caustic bitterness rose in Sorin’s throat. “Where is Ugin?” He asked. “

In fact Nahiri is already in a state of accusation and anger whilst Sorin tries to explain. 

after this there are harsh words that are said on his part yes. Defensively possibly? out of anger maybe? To me it somewhat sounds like a parent saying the whole “I RAISED YOU SHOW ME RESPECT” which when coming from his point of view he is an older, more experienced walker whom has just woken up weakened and stressed and being confronted instantly with Hostility. It doesn’t put him in the right but it certainly explains the reaction.

The violence that then takes place is rather uneeded if the two actually talked. But I still find that he clearly still cares about Nahiri within the line:

Now i’ve got the story out of the way I want to address a few other things:

people saying that Sorin tried to kill Nahiri during this:

No no he didn’t. He barely fought and only disarmed her. Avacyn attacked only because she was protecting the Plane as she was mean’t to do.

Sorin is an abusive parent figure:

Sorin is not actually either Nahiri or Avacyn’s parent. Is Nahiri’s anger and attitude a result of Sorin’s tutorledge? maybe? but I doubt it. She’s not a child. Its been over 6000 years since they have seen each other. Sorin even comments that she is far different from when he last saw her.

so are his problems of his own making?

Yes, I think he could have handled things a fuck-load better.

does he deserve this much hate from the community?

No.

I might explain at a later point why I think Nahiri’s current actions in SOI are insanely fucked up. Till then. Bye.

There's a big white dragon napping in a nest of trees. It's blissfully snoring and has attracted a dozen animals already.

     It was not unlike the nature of Innistrad to have such grand beasts roam the lands, but still the elder’s attentions were turned to the massive and IMMACULATE frame.  A hue not too different from his bless’d angel’s PLUMES.  Why, they seemed serene.  He caught himself in a blank stare for moments that seemed to pass unaccounted for.  For the creatures that surrounded this one BETRAYED a scene of peace and amiability.  Hardly did Sorin allow such to betray his senses as a low growl resounded in his own throat.

     He was no fool to face such an ADVERSARY with blade alone.  He was no shining HERO and still the other seemed to lay at rest.  Were they truly a threat so deep in the wood?  What reason had he to fight other than the blatant DISTRUST he held.  Ah how conflicted was the Markov.  Perhaps it was best to let sleeping beasts lie.  And with such a notion did the man skirt around the other’s MASSIVE frame.  He wasn’t overly fond of dragons, but he would let this one be.

     The Innistradi simply gave a shrug with a small GRIN tugging at his lips.  What was a HARMLESS game or two in his time?  It hadn’t progressed too far into a problem he found himself embroiled in.  Though he supposed it was terribly RUDE to make play at what he did.           “Were we all not so young at one time?            What is the harm?” She did not seem overly AMUSED from what he could gather.  But certainly she would understand.  A man his age does get bored after all.  Still the other paced a ways around Cecilia, giving another grin that tore across paler features.  He hoped she would see such in the same LIGHT as he.

          “Well I am glad the young miss has rectified the situation.”       He huffed at the boy.  Why had he taken an INTEREST was beyond him, but the Markov was far too involved now to just simply let the situation lie.  Still the vampire CHASTISED himself for getting just a bit too invested in this lad’s well being.  A man of CLASS and rank should act like it, that much the elder firmly believed.  Even looking upon a past so long ago, he maintained at least some semblance of DECORUM.  As long has none stood in his way.  Those who did were quickly cut down.           “Though I do hope you are more intelligent next time.            There are plenty of other ways of confirming, I am sure.           If you lack the creativity, fear not and ask me.” He supposed his words were a tad harsh, but he meant well.  Perhaps the young one’ would learn from his actions.  Sorin certainly did not expect little of his INTELLIGENCE and merit so such UNCOUTH and ill thought out actions just led him to be IRRITATED further.  Why did he care again?  Though still the other’s gaze lingered upon the young blond’s form.  Right, he reminded him of himself when he was HUMAN.           “Tell me your name, boy.”

Magic: the Gathering - Shadows Over Innistrad TOKENS

Now loaded up on the motherisite.

Almost all the illustrations on the tokens, and the clue tokens shown above are pretty darn lovely - exceptional even, but DANG there are one or two which are not very well executed, even though the artists have done fantastic work before.  Perhaps it was a very tight deadline.  We have a good number of the cards which generate the tokens shown but will wait until the full reveal so we can do a proper article over on the MTG Realm blog.

.:Preferences - Distaste For Fire:.

     During the blight and famine that nearly tore apart Stensia more than a millennia ago Sorin had witnessed a fresh brutality that sickened him to his core.  A good five years before his ascension to a Planeswalker or before hid contact with the “condition of the blood,” he had dealt with and lived with the tragedy at the time.  With the famine claiming the lives of many, Edgar was not the first to turn to another remedy to the issue of a lack of food.  Many of the poorer folk turned to a gruesome practice that is still held in the darker parts of Stensia today: Cannibalism.

–Of course the people had not resorted to eating the person raw.  Though the idea had come when superstitions rose and there was witch hunts.  Some dredged up actual culprits while many were innocent.  One of the many ways they dealt with witches was to simply burn them.  It was after one of the trials that a beggar partook of the flesh and soon many followed suit.  It was cheap, abundant and every person slaughtered for the meal was one less mouth to feed.  Of course they ran out of “witches” to burn and eat lest they maim the entire township so their eyes turned to the nobles and those above them.  The ones who sat safely in their homes with enough food to sustain them.  Already fueled by their rage over the noble’s lavish lifestyle and an entitlement mentality already setting in, they were the next victims.

–At the time, the smell of fire, death, burning flesh and seldom decay became common even in Sorin’s quarters.  Being human during this time period, he feared for his life and his sweetheart’s.  It was on the very eve of the say he would change that the deepest scar would come to be.  As he caught wind of what his grandfather was trying to achieve and tried to run for the woman he loved to somehow get them out of Stensia, having no faith in his grandfather’s ambitions.  However, as he got within the walls of his lady’s abode, he saw her being dragged from her home and mercilessly thrown into a pyre alive.  That night, the stench was worse than ever he recalled.  That scent shook him to his core as he fled back home in fear.  Even to this day, the scent of fire in the air or burning meat causes him to seize up.

-It was always an interesting experience returning to the mortal plane and encountering curious new imbeciles like this. Part of godliness meant mastering the art of disdain – of holding himself in such high regard compared to others that others were rarely, if ever, worth an ounce of his attention. Only by actively shoving themselves into his line of sight and begging for his attention would he even notice them at all.-

Something about that sort of machismo put a bad taste in DIO’s mouth, so he regards this gentleman much in the same way the average person would regard a pile of dog shit in the middle of the sidewalk.      God.  Words uttered as if they were the only one to hold such a title.  Though the vampire remained ever PATIENT.  He did answer after all.  Still head did cant upon words uttered from the others painted features.  Only to be MIRRORED by Sorin's own pale guise soon after.           "God, hmm?  How many a time I have heard that name.             Yet here I stand with an unfamiliar face." Soon lips pulled up into a grin.  Only to ignore the last comment.  How this one spat at him with DISDAIN like a man would look at an ant.  Was Sorin of any difference to the deity in that aspect.  Certainly he had not doubted the blond's capability to maim, nay still his hand stayed ready upon the hilt of his BELOVED blade.  All for in the case these ground turned violent and spattered with the VITAE of the two.  Hardly he wished of making an adversary of this one, despite prior threat for such words were only uttered in his DEFENSE.  If the elder were honest with himself, he would say he was glad he did not greet with his belly turned up like some hound.  Nay, he had too much of a PRIDE for that.

     Finally did forme move in a small pace just a ways closer to the one who called himself the single DEITY.  Perhaps he was of this plane, but Sorin knew not and ASSUMED not of either of the outcomes.  Instead his grin grew further as finally did he acknowledge the other’s previous statement.           “I fear I shan’t be scurrying.  I am far too curious.” Fangs of his own peeked beneath the grinning and gaze that lingered upon the younger’s forme.  Though almost unimposing in appearance and stature, he had to remind himself the ECHOES of power that ran their course upon his arrival.  What secret did he hold?  He almost, just almost, sought to test the man’s METTLE and right to such a lofty claim.           “You know little of to whom you speak.           Or of my feats.  Do not treat me as a child.”
