With a slow turn of his head, the "Acrobat" scowled.

"Nishishi, well, some things are for your gracious leader to know now... and for my faithful subordinate to figure out later! Sooo..."

Placing a finger to his lips, he made a "shh" motion with a sadistic grin.

Then, stopping in his tracks, he looked up towards the sky. Putting his free hand on his hip, he let out an exasperated sigh.

"Usually, I carry a Panta where I go! But... then something happened, and now I don't feel comfortable drinking them anymore... I'm not comfortable drinking or eating anything in the manor that isn't sealed to be honest... But, my faithful joker, you said you'd lend me your water bottle? Why, I should make you DICE's manager for all your efforts, nishishi~!"

With a hum, thinking about what the Joker has said, the “Acrobat” began to swing open lockers left and right.

“Personally, any help with do, Joker! Miss “Barmaid”… No, Miss Junko needs to taught a lesson.”

There was a dark expression on the “Acrobat’s” face, a twitch in his eyes. You could practically see storm clouds over his head as he slammed the red box against the nearby cipher machine.

It popped almost immediately.

“…I could really use something to drink. These fools are straining my poor throat! Do you have something I can drink up there, oh mysterious joker~?”

Sounds like those two had some weird stuff going on then. Time to fuck around and find out ig to find out what exactly happened😒

Nnnnope, I have not seen the barmaid! Sorry to disappoint o' great leader🫡 but what about it? Perhaps she got caught by the headmaster already?

"I honestly have noooo clue what happened! But, you know what, Shumai can do what Shumani wants, novels or whatever! I mean, who cares anyways. And, Hajime was sooo lecturely, I can't be bothered to worry for him!"

Walking around the map in pursuit of the "Barmaid" with the red box clasped behind his back, he groaned, rolling his eyes.

"I just want to talkkk to her! Nothing nefarious, I promisseeee! And, I can see the statuses. She's just fineee, half hp but, she isn't downed or chaired! Besides, I think..."

Looking back at the still-standing hunter, the "Acrobat" hummed with a satisfied smile.

"I think the headmaster is a little busy right now. Sooo, do you think you could help me look for her? Pleasssseeeee?"

Do you like cards? The ones with spades, diamonds, clovers, hearts.

"... hmm?"

Looking up, the "Acrobat" pulled out a pack of playing cards from within his card. Giggling, he grinned.

"Ahh, I do! Want to see a magic trick, anon?"

Without waiting for an answer, the "Acrobat" began to shuffle the cards, humming. Then, taking a card out at random, he hummed.

"Okay, watch this anon! Look at my card veryyyy carefully, okay?"

Holding up the chosen card, an ace of spades, he hummed. Then, turning the card over in his finger, the card presented was suddenly a four of clubs. Then, turning it again, the card changed again. A jack of diamonds. And then, with one final turn... a three of hearts.

"Pretty neat, right? I'm not all too sure what these cards mean, buttttt they just feel right!"

There's a eye roll from the "Acrobat" as he picked up the empty red chest sitting on the ground.

"I guess writing useless novels is just one of Shumai's new hobbies now! Something about using me to write? It was really weird, his eyes were glowing purple and everything! Hajime told me to stay back. His shirt was stained pink. I have nooo clue what happened, honestly!"

Holding the box in his hands, the "Acrobat" then smiled an icy smile.

"Ahh, I didn't quite think about that! Well, maybe that bear shouldn't be throwing bombs if he doesn't want them thrown back at him!"

"Heyyy, say... have you seen the Barmaid at all? I know she's in the match someeeewhere, I just can't find her anywhere! Won't you help your gracious leader out?"

Tilting their head slightly as they kicked up a ticking bomb, the "Acrobat" scoffed.

"I didn't hit my head on anything, how rude of you to assume! And, I'm in very little pain whatsoever! If anything, I think Miu could use them more than I can, she kind of got exploded eariler."

"Hey! Put my bomb down, Ouma! Stop ignoring me!!! Oumaaa!!!!"

Catching the ticking bomb with two hands, the "Acrobat" tossed it behind him, not bothering to respond. He barely responded as the bear shrieked, and the church began to shake violently.

"Well, as your oh so forgiving leader... I suppose I'll have to forgive you! After all, you came back, so we should let bygones be bygones! Or, whatever it is Shuichi keeps going on about while pointing a glass pen covered in red ink at me."

A cheeky grin formed on the "Acrobat's" face as he jumped through an open window, causing the pursuing headmaster to fumble to a halt. There was angry cusses from the hunter, as the "Acrobat" stuck his tongue out playfully.

"You left me soooo alone! It's cruel to abandon your leader that way!"

"Heyyyy, stop ignoring me, Ouma!"

"Eh? You hear something, Joker?"

Do you enjoy stories with happy endings? Or do you want more thrilling ones? An unfinished one is one in its own way.

"Stories with a happy ending are soooo boring! I mean, who wants that? A story where everything comes together in the end, and the protagonist is rewarded for all their hard work with a just reward, and everyone gets to live happily ever after? Snooooozefest!"

Sticking his tongue out with an exaggerated face, the "Acrobat" scoffed obnoxiously.

"Thrilling stories are sooo lame too! I mean, the plot twists are always half-baked at best and the character development is sooo lackluster! Ugh! Do you even know what you're reading? Because I can't even tell!"

Then, the "Acrobat" paused, a genuine expression of disgust forming on his face.

"Unfinished stories are the worst. Full stop, no lie. You never know what's going to happen. You're just waiting around for the ending. We're all just waiting around to die. We're all just marching around in the cat's jaw, waiting to be crushed. We'll never know the ending of the story. It's the worst."

Do you enjoy mirrors? They shatter apart easily, y’know. Be careful.

"Mirrors?? Why, of course I enjoy mirrors! There's nothing scary about them, I reallllyyyyy don't understand Shumai's fear of them~!"

There was a moment of silence as the "Acrobat" slowly looked around. On the other side of the room stood a tall, body-length mirror, covered in a dusty blue cloth. Stepping up to the mirror with swirled eyes, he reached out with a shaky hand.

Snatching the cloth with a shaky hand, he stared at himself in the mirror. A small frame, dressed in a checkered scarf and white clothes, messy purple hair, and a weak smile.

"See? There's NOTHING to be afraid of, anon! There's nothing to be careful of!"

With a smile and a gleeful skip in their step, the "Acrobat" runs off with a giggle, although it did seem like he wasn't all too confident in his own words there.

The mirror was blank for a short while after the "Acrobat" left, you're not sure why you keep staring. It's as if you're expecting something.

And then, a taller frame, dressed in a thick, flowy purple scarf and a long sleeved striped sweater, messy blue hair, and mismatched eyes.

You couldn't set sights on it long. It was there for a split second, and then, as fast as it appeared, it disappeared, shattering the glass with a sudden jab of a clawed hand.

The shattered glass fell to the floor violently, and it was as if it being thrown by some invisible force. ...Someone should clean that up.

Snapping his fingers teasingly, the "Acrobat" laughed. Climbing over a violently knocked-over chair, he spoke.

"Haha! Why, we're already going, dear Joker Card! Also, job-stealing? How brash~, putting the poor muffin man out of a job!"

There was a playful expression on the “Acrobat’s” face as he placed his fingers to his lips.

“Well, then we might be more similar than I initially thought! After all, it’s very difficult to outrun that red killer tyrant or disappearing act cat if you aren’t already on the move! Even more difficult if you’re already lacking a head-!”

As he said this, the sound of soft footsteps could be heard, as if there was something walking towards him. But there was no one else in the room. At least, no one else you could see.

Suddenly, a glass vase nearby the “Acrobat” fell, shattering upon contact with the floor. A dark expression befell the boy, entwined with what could only be described as raw fear. But, as quickly as the expression came, it dissipated, replaced with his usual playful demeanor.

“And I think that is my cue to get a move on-! Why don’t we walk and talk, shouldn’t be too hard for you, my dear “Joker” card~? Also, the muffin man? Who hasn’t heard of them~?”

Standing in the second-story building, the "Acrobat" put two fingers up to his forehead before pointing them towards the sky, as if making some silent salute to anyone who may be spectating.

Bending backward from his handstand, the "Acrobat" calmly laid on his stomach with a teasing facial expression, waving his feet playfully back and forth.

"Nishishi~! A supreme leader needs to stand out one way or another, and what title is more eye-catching than 'The Acrobat'~? Besides, my original is quite a lively and funny guy~ and unlike that emo detective, I enjoy his presence!"

Then, pushing himself off the ground with his hands, he kicked himself into a cartwheel position before fully standing upright. Putting a finger to his lips, he grinned.

"And, I'm always ready to run if needed! But, the real question is, can you keep up with me~? Come on, "Joker" card, catch me if you can~!"

With a laugh, the "Acrobat" raised a finger to his lips with a sly grin.

*These pages seem to be filled with different kinds of handwritten notes... It seems like the beginning of a long... long story.

-- We arrived at this manor... And each of us was given a guide. My guide was a girl named "Junko Enoshima" and she kept going on about how we're... "similar". What does she mean by that...?

-- I'm not sure what is happening here. But I don't like it. This place makes me nauseous like something bad happened here. This chick keeps going on about introducing me to the cycles and dumb shit like that. I don't get it.

-- Hmm, I think I should keep a notebook, to write down everything I see. In case something happens. I need a cover for it though... I know Shuichi and the others are extremely nosy... I need something they'd never expect... Alice's Adventures in Wonderland... this one should do.

-- I met that weird Junko girl again. She invited me for a "private dinner" and while I didn't really want to go... that damn black and white bear threatened me into going. They said it would be "fun". I should tell someone... but would anyone believe me?

-- She said some really weird things during the dinner. Stuff about cycles, and the rebirth of despair and insanity, and how I would become something greater than myself... The food was half decent, but the grape soda she gave me tasted weird. Actually, how did she know I liked grape soda? Ugh... I feel nauseous. And my throat is burning.
