He stood tall and gave her his full attention. To be fair, as much research he has pulled on what has been happening, even the world’s greatest detective could not fathom what was going on. “I have a good idea.” he told her vaguely. It was better to not be completely honest. He may not have all of the answers now, but he will.
“care to elaborate?” wonder woman asked patiently, a hint of disbelief undermining her voice. it wasn’t that she suspected him to be lying, but she was also having a hard time believing that he actually knew what was going on. sure, she had a few theories for herself, but that didn’t mean she knew anything for sure.

Tim was fairly certain that one of the three founders of the Justice League expressing doubt about the safety of their own universe was a problem. He was filing it away in the space he reserved for sheer, unadulterated panic and analysis when he was alone, though. “It’s fine. There’s more than enough people to cover us while we’re gone.” He wasn’t going to let either of them think otherwise. “Do you know the way from ground level to the manor?” Or was she going to fly? Tim was suddenly glad he’d arrived in this place in costume. He’d be missing his grappling gun right now if he hadn’t.
diana knew she was more than likely putting some severe panic into the mind of the young boy in front of her, but she couldn’t allow herself to give him false hope either, because truthfully, she had no idea about what was waiting for them both in this universe, and their own. despite this, diana gave a silent nod in response to his words, knowing he was reassuring the both of them. “why? are you hoping to go another way?” she inquired, her lips tugging upwards in amusement as she eyed his costume.

It was the smart choice, Tim was more than aware, to see if there was any chance of the remnants of something being at the manor. He knew it, and he couldn’t deny it. With a small sigh, he nodded. “I suppose that’s probably the best idea,” he agreed, watching Diana for a moment. If Superman was here too… It was possible more and more people were slipping through. Tim really wasn’t certain if that was such a good thing. “You could look at it this way. If fewer people are here, that means there’s still someone looking after our home.”
diana nodded, pleased that tim had agreed to allow her to accompany him back to the manor. while for the most part she wanted to be there to support the boy should they come across something bad, she was also hoping to find something that could benefit them. exhaling for a moment, diana pondered his words for a moment. “perhaps.” she finally allowed, pursing her lips. “however i’m also concerned about what has happened to our home.” and if there still was a home.

The moment he caught that gleam of Wonder Woman’s golden lasso, he dove down and glided right in front of her before landing carefully on the ground. He looked her over quietly before speaking in a partially robotic voice meant to mask his own.
“What do you need?”
her lasso was returned to her hip by the time batman landed in front of her, and she stood waiting patiently, lips slightly pursed. “would it be too much to assume you have any idea about what’s going on?” she inquired back in the same quiet voice he had used.
timbcrs:
Tim found himself speechless for a moment. Home. He was trying rather hard not to think about home terribly much and yet she seemed to pinpoint it immediately. It didn’t seem quite so important, compared to figuring out how they’d gotten here and where here even was, and how to get back home. That, and the fact that there was the chance- if this really was another universe, maybe he could see if his parents… But that wasn’t a thought worth having. Tim shook his head, not quite meeting Diana’s gaze this time. “I’ve not been here long. Haven’t had a chance to head in that direction.” He glanced back up, attempting to keep things a bit lighter than where his own thoughts were trying to lead him. “Is the rest of the League here?”
diana continued to peer down at the younger boy, already knowing he had managed to avoid home. she couldn’t say she blamed him, but at the moment, she could really use bruce’s technology if it was here. if not, then they had bigger problems. “if you want, i could come with you.” she offered kindly, giving him a reassuring smile. support would always be nice, especially if they came across something they hadn’t wanted to. “superman is here.” diana responded after a moment, exhaling quietly. “he’s the only one i’ve tracked down thus far.”
capedxjustice:
The chaos amok New Gotham certainly kept Batman busy these days. Bruce didn’t mind keeping his mind busy with increased amounts of detective work, but he was more than a little apprehensive of the arrival of meta-humans and other clowns running the streets. What was to keep these so-called heroes from turning and using their powers to destroy more innocent lives?
While there wasn’t much on the radar for crime for the night, he found himself on the highest skyscraper looking among the city. The city was, more or less quiet and Alfred popped in on his communicator to urge him to come home for that important meeting in the morning to rest for. Begrudgingly, he opened the cape and jumped, gliding through the sky.
it was by pure coincidence that diana glanced up and spotted the familiar sight of a caped figure gliding through the sky, something she hadn’t seen in some time but had been hoping to spot. suppressing the relief at having another member of the league in this strange city, diana glanced around while pondering how to gain the crusader’s attention before taking off down the street at super speed, stopping once she was several blocks in front of the masked man. grabbing her lasso from her waist, she gave it one good whip up into the air, shining golden in front of the crusader to catch his attention.
bluevvinged:
“diana, i have no idea what you could mean,” dick started in an equally playful tone. “i’m a VERY normal fella, average as they come.”
“huh.” she hummed thoughtfully, lips pursed. “guess average has changed since my day.”
timbcrs:
The mention of Bruce made Tim’s shoulders drop just a little bit. He’d yet to find any of his chaotic little family in this city, from this universe or his own, and he was beginning to feel just a tiny bit alone, especially given how many other people he’d run into. “I haven’t found Bruce yet, but I’ve scoped it out to a degree. There’s little differences. A few of the shops have changed. There’s a bakery that closed down years ago back home that’s still running, and some of the architecture is different. But I haven’t had a chance to map out the whole city.” More specifically, he had yet to go anywhere near home, or his old home.
hearing bruce had yet to be found had diana pressing her lips into a thin line, however she wasn’t surprised. she nodded thoughtfully as he explained the differences in this city, though none of it was really anything she hadn’t noticed. “and your home?” she probed, looking curiously and expectantly at the boy. she didn’t have much in gotham for herself, and whatever was important, it was in bruce’s possession.
bluevvinged:
“my point exactly. not that i’m complaining–i just would’ve like to at least be able attend one of my neighbors’ holidays parties. they’re starting to think i’m WEIRD.”
“you sure they haven’t noticed anything else to dub you as weird?” diana couldn’t help but teasingly inquire.
bluevvinged:
“call me foolish, but i really did thought i’d have more downtime this holiday season.”
“i wasn’t aware people like us actually had downtime.”
timbcrs:
He knew being psychic wasn’t in her wheelhouse, but for the briefest of moments, Tim was certain he could be forgiven for thinking otherwise. He watched the Amazonian carefully as she spoke, following her gaze around the area. “You mean, like an alternate universe or timeline?” he asked, voice quieter than usual. A soft, self-depreciating laugh escaped his lips. “We’re not in Kansas any more?”
diana nodded, her eyes continuing to intently scope out the area. it was gotham, that was for certain. but at the same time, it wasn’t the gotham they knew. it was quieter, more peaceful, and somehow, not as dark. the darkess they knew that lingered over gotham wasn’t present, as if there had never been any villains or destruction to take from the light. “something like that.” diana finally responded after a moment, a breathless and humorless laugh escaping her lips as she returned her sights on the boy. “have you or bruce tried to see if everything is still where it should be?” she inquired, trying to keep the hopefulness from her voice. she had yet to come across bruce herself, but she was hoping maybe tim had.
timbcrs:
Tim didn’t quite catch the twitch, instead feeling somewhat small compared to the woman stood not so far away (although, he pointed out to himself, he was pretty short compared to most people and shut up, brain). It was Wonder Woman, after all. It would never not be utterly awesome in the truest sense of the word to be talking to her. He glanced away, gathering himself as he asked, “Do you know what’s going on? How we got here?” Or where here even truly was. It looked like Gotham, the traffic even moved like Gotham, but it didn’t feel like it.
“no.” diana was reluctant to admit. she had wished to have some answers for the young boy, but had yet to come up with anything useful regarding this strange situation. “it’s strange, isn’t it?” she murmured while glancing around with furrowed brows. “it looks like gotham, down to the very detail, but.. isn’t.” she continued. “i imagine this would be what gotham would be like if we weren’t around.” she suddenly mused thoughtfully.
mxsslane:
“Diana,” Lois murmured. She’d only spoken to the woman once or twice, but her face was entirely familiar. The redhead pursed her lips. It was Diana, wasn’t it? She didn’t like to get names wrong. “One around the corner is good enough for me. Even if it ends up sucking.”
“would you mind if i accompany you?” diana inquired, head tilted to the side. her tone was innocent enough, features relaxed. “after all, it would be a shame to allow you to have coffee by yourself in this... new environment.” she continued. truthfully, diana just wanted to look out for the reporter. while things had been quiet in this new gotham, it was unsettling for her.
