Maybe as I’m writing this it isn’t technically the first day we met, but I would never leave it out. We met at Warped Tour watching one of our favorite bands, or well, waiting for them to start I guess. I will never forget looking behind me and seeing a tall figure just bouncing up and down, so excited for that first note to ring out. I will never forget the enthusiasm in your eyes and the eagerness in your smile. I was so entranced I knew I had to talk to you and so I did. I found out you were a marine, scheduled to be back on duty any day, but that only made me more and more eager to spend time with you, I guess I knew our time was limited. During that set I rushed the stage, I’ll admit I hoped that maybe you would follow, but you didn’t. Yet as fate might have it, before the last song was sung, I found my way back to you. I invited you to catch the next set with me. My favorite band was playing and I knew the crowd would be small, but I hoped you’d join me and you did so off we went. You and I carried the set in terms of energy. I was singing along and dancing harder than I ever have and you were doing just the same, even if you didn’t know the lyrics. Every time I stopped to look up at you you were doing more or less the same, either dancing along or laughing at me for doing so. I will never forget what you said when the singer walked out. I have always held the same opinion so when you said, “Wow, he’s sexy… especially for a ginger!” I knew I had found something special in you. After that, you and I wandered a bit until deciding to catch a third band, it would be our last together. You were disappointed that we were in the back so I grabbed you by the hand and took you into the middle of the crowd, right on the rim of the pit. In that crowd you protected me from people moshing and you made sure I was safe, something I realize you always do. During that set, I left early to go to a meet and greet, but as soon as it was over and you found me immediately, you even introduced yourself to the band member I was talking to, I was enamored with you. This was all at the end of the night, so shortly after it was time to say goodbye. You apologized for being a marine because even though you had fun, you left in three days. With that you gave me an awkward side hug and you were gone. I didn’t want to say goodbye, so I messaged you on instagram. I felt like an idiot, but it paid off because you gave me your number and we started to talk.
