I can’t believe that there are genuinely people out there that are so chronically online that when i say “hey, maybe Lily Evans wasn’t perfect and she and Severus Snape are both flawed and toxic” that there would be people calling me a “braindead misogynist.” Because I apparently hate women now because i also apparently just hate Lily Evans (spoiler alert, I don’t..?) Wow.

So sorry if people genuinely got offended with my post, but to clarify, i came to the conclusion of my post because how could Lily Evans so easily forgive James Potter if she dint already was kind of friends with him? How could she be so readily to date him if they weren’t at some point kind of friends? So i came to the conclusion that hey, maybe they were friends. (BECAUSE, I WOULD NEVER ASSUME THAT LILY EVANS IS A CHARACTER THAT WOULD JUST SUDDENLY START LIKING JAMES WITHOUT A CARE IN THE WORLD?? THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVE TO HAD SOMETHING RIGHT?) And that made me really sad because i realized if they were kind of sort of friends then Severus Snape would have had this kind of complicated relationship thing with Lily, hence, “yeah James never bullied me, so i don’t have any problems with him” I CAME TO THIS CONCLUSION BECAUSE I ALSO HAD A SITUATION LIKE THIS WITH A FEW FRIENDS.

What is it with Draco fans who convince themselves that Lucius was a HORRIBLE father?? I just saw a post about how “Draco is the type to feel like he failed in a match even though he won because his dad dint clap” BRO! Did you watch the same film i did??? This diva (Lucius) literally bought his kids entire team the newest set of brooms, then took the time out of his probably busy schedule to watch his sons first match, HES LITERALLY LIKE ONE OF THOSE MOMS IN THE STANDS THAT CHEERS ON FOR HER CHILDREN IN A GAME OF BASEBALL bro did not need to do allat. Mind you, in this same post they also had a part where it went like “hes the type to flinch when people say hes “just like his father” because he spent his entire life trying not to be” BROTHER WHO? WHO ARE WE TALKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW? The boy who literally cries out for his daddy when something he doesn’t like happens??? That boy? He greatly admired his father, and copied much of his mannerisms. Sure, in later years he slowly resents his father, in a way. But i always assumed it was because now that he’s older, he’s seen just how fragile of a man his father is, his image of this strong, powerful unshaken man is now broken and he hates that his father isn’t as strong as he thought he was, as Lucius is helpless against the dark lord’s wishes for Draco. But you can tell he still loves his father as he’s clearly upset when he went to Azkaban.

I love Severus Snape, alright? I think his character is beautifully complex and he has both really good and really bad qualities. I personally like his personality, it’s a realistic depiction of what years of abuse, bullying, and neglect can do to a person, not to mention Lily’s choice in dating and then marrying James.

I cant imagine what that would do to a person, do you not see it how i see it?

Imagine you were a poor neglected child, then you meet the only person that ever gave a fuck about you, then you went to opposite houses that hate both you and her, but you decided to still be friends with her despite what you knew your classmates thought about being friends with a MUGGLEBORN GRYFFINDOR! And then messed that whole shit up by calling her a slur, AND DESPITE Severus being who he is, aka “i have to keep my image, or else they think i’m weak” HE GOES TO HER AND THEN APOLOGIZES! If you understand what kind of person Severus was, you’d probably guess that he’s not the type to care, but he did care for her, care for this mistake. Thats why it’s his worst memory, not because it’s humiliating what James did, but because the moment that hurtful word slipped out of his mouth he knew that he had lost Lily, WORST. MEMORY.

AND THEN SHE GOES TO DATE JAMES, what do you think that would do to Severus??? Not just in a “oh he liked her so he’d be jealous” NO think about it this way.

She was the only person he ever gave a fuck about, the only person he cared about. Finding out she dated James is like Lily being a traitor in Severus’ eyes.

SHE KNEW WHAT HE DID TO SEVERUS, and She knows what Severus’ thinks about James, and yet she still did it. Yes she has the right to date whoever she wants but she dint just date anyone she dated his BULLY. And he still goes on to save her, to try to protect her, despite how much all of her actions has hurt him, maybe a part of him felt like he deserved it. Severus is a character that constantly drowns in guilt, he tries his entire life to make up for his mistake. Despite the shit he’s gone through and the shit Lily put him through, he still protects her and cares for her, and eventually, protects her son.

I can’t believe how strong this man is, because i guarantee you, if it was me i would have gone full killing spree. Why should i care for her when its clear she doesn’t care about me? Why should i protect her? If i was talking to Voldemort i would’ve probably be like “yeah go on kill her and James, make sure his death is slow and painful dude”

But Severus isn’t like that isn’t he?

(NO HATE TO LILY BTW! IM SURE THAT SHE CHOSE JAMES BECAUSE THEY TRULY DID LOVE EACHOTHER, AND THATS HER DECISION! I THINK SHES A GOOD PERSON THAT DID GOOD THINGS)

Sorry to offend some people, but the truth is, if you cant even be open minded for a fictional character, then your probably not open minded at all.

Im sorry…? Severus? Rich..? The boy who would wear hand me downs from his MOTHER? Probably because his father’s were too big? The boy who petunia said had an awful appearence because hed always look “unkempt”? The boy who wore mismatched clothes????

That sounds rich to you?

If you try to argue that he was rich as an adult i feel like talking about his career just to defend your claim is kind of redundant because it doesnt erase the fact he grew up poor, learned to deal with it, and has a stable job. But that doesnt mean he was RICH.

Also, Harry potter growing up “poor”? is not the right term by the way, he grew up neglected, the dursleys were not “poor”. And harry himself was FAR from poor, he was drowning with riches.

If your willing to pull crap out of your a$$ just to hate on a fictional character, that tells a lot about you as a person.

Its kind of funny that in most fics, the Malfoys are always the one that helps the “poor mistreated halfblood” Abraxas, in most fics is Tom Riddle’s most trusted, useful, and capable follower. Often in fanfiction Abraxas helps Tom in the school breaks by inviting him to his house to stay for awhile (Tom doesn’t want to go back to the orphanage, and Abraxas knows this) or when Tom needs someone to investigate something like (in Tomarry time travel fics) Harry’s background. I can see Abraxas being a bratty 11 year old that got his ass kicked in a duel with Tom and realized just how powerful Tom was, he should be angry that a halfblooded nobody had beaten him so easly, but he feels a grudging respect. And eventually, he becomes Tom’s first if not most trusted Death Eater.

Next we have Lucius, an obvious connection with Severus, as Lucius was the one to take Severus under his wing. Imagine, Lucius staring at this gruff, ill tempered boy and hes like “oh my god how can i NOT help him? Hes begging for a makeover practically.” (Seriously need more fics of these two)

And then we have Draco, who tried to follow his father’s footsteps by befriending Harry. But got his little heartbroken instead. Now he annoys and messes with Harry because deep down he just wants to be his friend :(

Can we have more airheaded malfoys guys? I love when a fic makes Lucius/Abraxas a total airhead thats a little stupid but means well and very loyal. Also bonus points if their totally smitten and in love with their wives. (Walk them like a dog sis)
