time jump; who’s his mom | didom

Didi thanked him for the water bottle before moving to sit down, crossing her leg over the other as she opened the bottle and took a sip. “No of course, it’s not too far from my place and I didn’t want him waiting around, it gets a little busy around home time.” She said with a smile, her eyes searching his face as she thought for a second. “It’s nice to see you, you know just us two. I feel like we haven’t really caught up y’know, us.” She said softly, her eyes leaving him to look at the label on the bottle as if it was the most interesting thing all of a sudden.
The tension was pretty ... frustrating to say the least. He wished they weren’t so uncomfortable with each other, but what could they do? How could they expect anything less. At her comment he couldn’t help but laugh a little and agree. “Yeah, I guess so. I mean there was the time at the coffee shop, but really it doesn’t seem like you and I have spent a lot of time together that would just involve us two without like Sterling running around or ... other people.” He refused to mention Buster, the fiance. “How have you been?” he asked knowing it was a lame way to start off.
