Hey! Another Aggie that likes military history. I'm down in Galveston. Sorry I just wanted to chime in on that
It’s always great to hear from fellow Aggies. Hope you enjoy my blog. Gig em!
I’m a WW2 reenactor. I do 28th division, 83rd Jäger regiment. My main impression though is Royal Italian Alpini Corps, Monte Cervino battalion. Are you a reenactor, or have you ever considered reenacting?
No, I unfortunately am not. I’m still working towards my undergrad degree, so I have practically no time to even consider reenacting. I will look into it someday. It seems like a lot of fun, and a great way to keep history alive. But for now, I don’t think so.
I'm a student at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. I'm a history major and I love studying the Second World War especially the European theatre! I stumbled across your blog and I love it!
That’s awesome, man! I was actually looking into going to Mary Hardin-Baylor when I was a senior in high school. It’s a beautiful campus and a wonderful university. I go to Texas A&M, so i’m not too far down the road from you! I’m glad you enjoy my blog. I’m sorry I haven’t been posting lately. I have been very swamped with my classes. But I’ll be back to posting in a few days, hopefully. Good luck with your studies!
Hey guys!
Thank you so much for all the follows. I’m well over 1,000 followers now, and it means a lot to me to know that there are so many people interested in this blog and its content.
I apologize for hardly posting on here recently. I am so wrapped up with classes and school work. I will hopefully be back posting on a regular basis in a few weeks or so. So thank you all for you follows, and I promise to get back to posting soon!

Is there prejudice in the historical field for those studying the Third Reich? If so, how do you counter it? If you don't support their ideology what drew you to study them?
I wouldn’t say there’s a prejudice, but there is a sort of social stigma when it comes to it.
I’m a history major. People will always ask me what kind of history I enjoy to study. When I tell people I enjoy studying Nazi Germany, I normally get two different responses. Most of the time, when its people who don’t really care/know about history, they usually give me a funny look or they get really uncomfortable looking. Most of the time it’s probably because they assume I enjoy studying the Third Reich because I’m a racist or something like that. When it comes to these people, I always to follow by explaining my reasoning as to why I enjoy studying what I do followed by explaining my political views.
However, when I tell fellow history major or someone who is more aware when it comes to history, I normally get a very pleasant response. Most of these people think it’s fascinating that I study the Third Reich, and they think it is rather unique.
I was first attracted to the Third Reich back in 2011. My Grandfather passed down to me an entire encyclopedia set over the Third Reich. It had about 20 books following the Third Reich from Its earliest roots in the early 1920′s all the way to the aftermath of 1945-1947. I found it so fascinating. It was a part of history I had never been introduced to and I knew practically nothing about it. From there it just grew. I was lucky enough to have a girlfriend who thought it was equally interesting. She would always help look for new books or let me tell her all the things I found so facinating about the Third Reich and she never judged me. In fact, she was encouraging when it came to it. So that also helped to fuel my interest.
