A shy smile played upon Astrid’s face with a slight flush to the face at Anselm’s declaration. She moved a lock of hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. “I think I like you too, Anselm”. Perhaps her fears and that strange feeling of malaise that were surrounding her were for not. Maybe this would turn out to be an excellent match like that woman from her dreams told her it would be.

“All right, let’s save us for last. Now let me think, how about a hint regarding one of your brothers who makes their time outside. Lets see if I can win again.” It was strange that feeling of darkness seemed to intensify in his gaze. ‘Stop it’ she thought to herself, there’s nothing wrong, your survival sense is just malfunctioning.

He pulled his fingers away from the table. Getting too excited. Getting ahead of himself in the heat of the moment. It was time to pull back and recollect himself.

His green eyes shifted from the young woman’s and landed up on the ceiling. The same old ceiling he’d seen for many years. Unchanging much like his mistress. Uncracked. Not caving under pressure no matter how heavy the snow or rain.

“Both of them spend time outside, but one tends to live things that aren’t as animated as the other one’s subject. I can offer you another clue if you’d like? Hopefully, it’s challenging enough without being too hard.”

Yes, both Lorenz and Olis practically lived outside. One tended to the gardens while the other guarded the mansion from outside dangers. One always carried a shotgun, whereas the other forever held onto a shovel.

Astrid thought long and hard about the current clue, what’s alive but doesn’t move? Hmm. She couldn’t think of any animals that didn’t move. Her green eyes shifted to look outside and looked at the trees, their leaves waving and rustling in the wind. That’s when she raised her eyebrows and smiled. She was confident with this answer.

“One of your brothers must be a gardener correct? As for the other…”

The redhead sighed looking up momentarily at the spot Anselm was looking. She raised her hands and shrugged.

“Anselm, I am afraid that I am going to need another clue. Oh, do your brothers and you live together?”

From the sounds of things it sounded like he was remarkably close with his siblings. She kind of envied that as she had no siblings herself. She also wondered if she would live with them when Anselm and her got married.

He smiled at her second question, sitting on the first one like it was a comfortable throne. "This house," he smirked. "We all share it. Different rooms on different floors." But, distance didn’t matter. They were all connected to their mistress.

"You're right. Olis is a gardener. Lorenz..."

Anselm pauses, questioning if he's done with this game and wants to switch to another or not. No, he decided. Let her win her prize. "He carries a shotgun around. What do you think he does with it?"
