Sony's Gaikai service will be called PlayStation Now. It will offer users the ability to stream PlayStation games to various devices such as smartphones and tablets. The limited beta will start at the end of January and a larger roll out is targeted for summer 2014.

This holiday season, expect brands to fight each other in real-time on Twitter in order to steal shoppers from competitors. Last year, Walmart was successful in capitalizing on competitors' lack of product availability and delivery issues. More recently, Samsung, Nokia and Microsoft bought Promoted Tweets around Apple's new iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina announcement.
Teens Say Twitter is the Most Important Social Network
Piper Jaffray's September 2013 study on teens and the social networks reveals that teens view Twitter as the most important. Facebook and Instagram are tied in second place, but Facebook is trending down while Instagram continues to rise. The overall landscape is shifting and teens are looking for new social networks, which is supported by the fact that the "other" category jumped from 2% to 17% year over year.
Nintendo has announced a new Wii U bundle featuring Skylanders Swap Force. The new bundle will be available starting November 15 for $300.
Ouya Availability Expands to Target
The Ouya, an Android-based video game console, will be be sold at Target stores nationwide this month. The console will be promoted via in-store video next month and will get customized shelf displays in December. Early next year, demo stations will be rolling out to select store locations.

Apple Announces Two New iPads
Today, Apple has announced the iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display. The iPad Air is a thinner and lighter 9.7" iPad that will replace the old "new iPad" at the $499 price point. The iPad Mini has been upgraded with a Retina Display and will retail for $399, pushing the old non-Retina Display iPad Mini to $299.

Pew Research Center's latest study on Americans aged 16+ reveals that tablet ownership continues to rise sharply, reaching 35% in September 2013.

"See It" Button Embedded in Tweets Lets You Stream and Record
Comcast, NBCUniversal, and Twitter partnered together to create an embeddable "See It" button in tweets. The button will allow users to tune into live streaming from set-top boxes and mobile devices. Other capabilities include setting the DVR, creating reminders for upcoming shows, and purchasing Fandango movie tickets. The feature will roll out in November to Comcast Xfinity TV customers.
