hey ive been trying to get ninja ripper to work with god eater 3 with no luck. if you dont mind telling, how did you get it to work?
hello!!
First what you’re going to want to do is navigate to where GE3′s exe is and rename it to something else, doesnt matter what just as long as its not ge3.exe (I tend to go with ge3o.exe just so i know its the original exe).
then after that copy over all the files from ninjaripper’s x64 folder into ge3′s folder, renaming Ninjaripper.exe to ge3.exe. then launch from steam (i cant recall if u have to delete certain .dll s or not but if u do get an error telling u that theres a dll and it cant run just move that dll into a new folder).
after launching the game from steam and Ninjaripper will open up. navigate to the original ge3.exe for the target exe and press run (I have the dropdown set to “Intruder inject”).
press the hotkey where you want to export the meshes from (default hotkey is f10, you can change it in NinjaRipper’s settings). the game WILL HANG. its trying to grab a LOT of polygons and a LOT of textures so this can take like. a whole minute or maybe 5, depending. maybe more idk i havent timed it i just usually let it do its thing.
it’ll export it to wherever u’ve set the output directory to. this will export both the meshes and textures.
now an important thing: if you’re wanting a specific few meshes (Since they export in parts) i’d recc getting 3dmodel viewer. this way you can browse the meshes one by one to get the correct mesh to import. I use blender so idk how other 3d progs work with NinjaRipper but if you have the plugin and click “import whole folder” or whatever that check is it MAY TAKE UP TO 10++ MINUTES TO IMPORT THE WHOLE SCENE. just tab out and let it do its thing. this will take awhile and blender will stop responding. it’ll import it eventually trust me.
as well, the textures for the models will be flipped. blender lets you select all the UVs and flip them (iirc on the y axis is where u need to flip them? if not just reflip the y and do the x axis.). this should fix the textures. just know that depending on the game, the textures may need some work done for them to fit. it is not a perfect export.
you’ll also need to move some parts around after exporting since everything will have its origin to 0,0,0. including heads, hair, teeth and eyes…. just move them to where they should be on the body and ur set.
everything is also un-rigged so you have to make an armature and weight the bones yourself.
I think thats it. if you run into any problems feel free to ask!! I’ll try to help out the best i can.
i did as instructed but still failed to get any models. it does pause and give a log but i cant get it to rip anything. i can get it to work on other games though. im on the latest version of ninja ripper 1.7.1
