Naive obsession with technology can cause harm
For most of us, our morning ritual starts by checking out our mobile phones. Scientist say this obsession which has become the latest fad specifically amongst youngsters today has its repercussions on health of human beings. Too much dependency on mobile phones can lead to increase in stress and fatigue. Also, if you check them before a night sleep , they blue rays emitted by the mobile tend to adversely affect the production of melatonin which helps in regulating our sleep.
And it’s not just mobiles we are talking about. Infact too much technology in our daily lives can cause harm which can be mentally, physically and monetary wise draining.
So, here’s a quick swot up on aftermaths of too much technology in our daily lives.
1.Anti social attitude- People who use too much technology like mobile phones, laptops, or the internet in general tend to become isolated from the society. Studies reveal they mix up with others less. This is harmful for it can lead to many psychological disorders such as bipolarism or diseases like schizophrenia.
2. Lack of exercise- People who spend time surfing the internet or talking on their mobiles, most of the tim tend to indulge in less physical exercise. And this tends to lead to physical problems like obesity. This in turn can lead to various health problems like heart diseases, muscle strain , body ache, etc.
3. Depression- Getting from society as aforesaid can lead to not only physical, but also mental disorders such as depression. The people can become victim of stress which if aggravated can take the form of depression.
4. Poor sleep habits- As aforesaid, those who are busy on their phones or watching too much television or busy surfing the net, tend to suffer from poor sleep habits. It’s a known fact that the body gets a full rest during the night. That’s how the body biological clock is made. However, if the clock gets disrupted and the individual doesn’t get a full hour night rest, then this may cause many health hazards.
5. Pollution- Cars and vehicles were invented to make travelling easy and fast. However, the aftereffects were unseen for. Not only do they lead to deteriorating physical health as people tend to walk less, but at the same time they also destroy the environment by causing pollution.
We can see by the aforesaid paragraph that just as too much of anything is bad, same way naive addiction to technology can create havoc in the life of human beings. We need to balance out the use of technology from our daily lives. We need to stand at a point where technology and human values and emotions intersect.
