🛸 what i do

(Forever Together au) was playing around with new brushes and here’s the outcome. I like it, but maybe I need to make the shading deeper or lines darker.
Shoutout to this Binface graphic for being hilarious, but I feel like we should also draw attention to the other reason Farage is (hopefully!) fucked. It's emerged that he apparently didn't know resigning his seat wouldn't end the investigations, just pause them, when he forced this by-election.
What that means is he can very probably be done not only for any financial offences, but for contempt of Parliament (when you interfere with Parliamentary business or investigations- Boris Johnson was kicked out of Parliament because he did that with Partygate).
And even better, if the investigations show he could have criminal charges brought against him, the fact he did that means that they could also potentially find him guilty of perverting the course of justice (trying to sabotage a criminal investigation), which is an even more serious crime than any of the financial fraud he's probably done.
And then, even if none of that happens, he's basically Streisand effect-ed himself into oblivion. The first thing you're likely to hear now after Farage's name is 'took £5 million from a crypto billionaire and £1 million from a convicted fraudster'. And he's freely admitted he took all that money and 'can spend it all on Ferraris' if he wants to.
Even if he isn't guilty of any misconduct (which is doubtful), no one but no one has any sympathy for a bloke complaining people don't like that he hoarded £6 million from criminals in the middle of a cost of living crisis. This is his legacy now, and it's so funny.
farage may have won the byelection, as we all expected, but it's still very much a pyrrhic victory imo.
even in the constituency he specifically chose for the high proportion of magic bean and bridge buyers, he still only got 62.82% of the vote. count binface got 26.71% of the vote, meaning that over a quarter of people in his specifically chosen constituency looked at farage and decided to vote for the talking bin. congrats, mate, you beat a bin.
his credibility has also been damaged. he's spent his summer essentially arguing with a bin in a vanity circus that's cost the taxpayer £250,000. he can't say he beat 'the establishment' because the main parties didn't turn up. he refused to stand on the stage with everyone else and go to the declaration, and also lied about the police telling him not to go. the entire thing has exposed just how shit of a politician he really is and how shit his party is.
and at the end of all this, the investigation into him is still going to continue. there will likely be another byelection called, meaning another £250,000 is going to be wasted in the coming months.

I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.
Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.
People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.
When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.
I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.

Fourteen Palestinian trade unions and federations renewed their urgent call for unions around the world to defend the inalienable rights of the Indigenous people of Palestine to return home and receive reparations, and to escalate BDS pressure to end all state, corporate and institutional complicity in Israel’s illegal occupation, apartheid and genocide.
The signatories of this call offered specific methods by which workers can act in solidarity with Palestinian liberation. Please consider which of these methods is possible for you and heed their call to unite against genocide.
Only a few years ago, my friend Mahmoud had stable work in Gaza, providing for his parents while his sister Mahrah attended university for engineering. Israel destroyed his workplace and Mahrah's university, and neither have any means of income anymore.
Mahmoud is separated from his family by Rafah Crossing and facing significant challenges as a refugee including high cost of living and difficulty finding any work. Meanwhile his family are still in Gaza under genocidal threat, where the cost of living is exponentially higher due to Israelis systematically blocking aid to create scarcity.
Mahmoud's family depends entirely on donations they collect for living expenses. His family's campaign is vetted by @90-ghost, shared by fairuzfan, and hosted by my wife @cannilyuncanny. She transfers donations directly to @mahrahpalestine. Any money you can spare will be the entirety of their grocery budget for the week. Please send them enough to survive.
