HMM, NOW where had she seen this man before? He was certainly familiar. But Delphi just couldn’t put her finger on it.. Oh well. If he was important he would tell her, and if not then she’d probably remember who he was sometime later that night and feel guilty for having forgotten.

FOR NOW she only smiled, giving a tiny wave to the man as he entered her shop. The pointed ears on either side of her head, perking with her smile.

My, my, if only her old gypsy caretaker could see her now. In the midst of the Kou empire, about to perform a reading for a princess! It was almost surreal. Needless to say, the princesses enthusiasm was met equally in the seers reply.

“Yes!  I’m very grateful… Ah, what’s your name?  I’m not sure I asked before…”  She noted with a tilt of her head.

“Is there anything special I should do for this magic?  Perhaps we need a more remote room rather than out in the open hallway?”

’My name is Delphine, my lady! And, quite honestly, I can perform the reading anywhere! But if it would be most comfortable for you, then I am more than willing to proceed to a more private locale.’

Her usual soft smile shines through, pointed ears perking upwards with the influx of excitement. Delphi had been planning on giving the princess a simple palm reading, however, now that the ball had begun to roll, she felt like being a bit more extravagant.

’So, then we are equally met at the very least.’ Mayhaps it wasn’t ideal that neither of them knew how to go about this, but then, that could also be a big problem later on.

’A reason? Oh..I wonder what it would be..Im not wealthy at all, so not for monetary gain I would assume…Anyways, I don’t believe we’ve been introduced as of yet! I am Delphine, and as of today, I suppose, I am your wife.’

“Nah, she mostly picks ladies who she deems worthy due to character; not material posessions. There has to be something that she likes and thought we needed in the family….Either way…..You’ll be taken care of while with me so don’t worry.” Hearing her introduce herself, he then ran his fingers through his red hair and replied “I’m Alec….We met before but it’s been a while.”

’…Well, I’m glad that she saw something worthwhile in me..That’s rather uplifting.’ Even though she speaks of being happy, her expression says otherwise.–’We..Did? Oh…OH! Yes! You came to my shop looking for gifts for your younger sister, didn’t you? I remember now!“

With the smallest twitch of her elf like ears, the seer began to grin in a giddy manner. Honestly she was much more excited over the fact that her customer was engaged than the mention of the king. Which probably should have taken priority, but-

’Fiance~? How adorable! I’ll tell you what, as an engagement gift, I’ll give you this reading on the house!’ This was said as the seer moved from behind her counter, turning towards the shops rear where her divination station lay.

“Oh, that’s so kind….thank you,” Aziza smiled, following the other “my name is Aziza, my fiance is Alibaba.”

The half-imuchakk girl was curious as to what sort of methods the other used, and what exactly it was she would see.

’Well, I just consider it to be common courtesy. If I’m being truthful, my first reading is usually on the house for anyone and everyone who walks through the front door!’

She leads the way towards the divination space, pulling back the scarlet curtains that serve as a makeshift door and holding them back so that her guest may step into the dimly lit room.–’Aziza? That’s a lovely name~! Aziza and Alibaba..Your names sound quite nice together, too! Well, it’s wonderful to meet you, Aziza. My name is Delphine, but you may call me Delphi if you so wish.’

It’s fairly evident that Delphi is an eternally friendly person upon first meetings, unless you’ve given her some reason not to be. And while this may seem normal as she does run a business and therefore needs to be open and smiley for customers, there’s actually a reason for this which has caused her to grow a deep seeded urge to try and be friends with literally everyone she meets.

Seers born within Delphi’s family were known for their stunningly accurate and clear divinations for their country. However to achieve this level of mastery, each seer is kept isolated from birth and thrown into courses on the history of Reim.

This is because, their line of seers is more inclined to have visions, and strong ones at that, about the things they care about most. And since it was their job to provide for the empire, they needed to feel very strongly for their country. By isolating the seers at birth, they are cut off from society, save the history they are being taught. In this way their minds only know of Reim and as such their visions will be all about their country and thereby beneficial to Reim.

Because of this, young Delphi was not allowed outside, nor was she allowed to speak to anyone but her mother, father, and teacher. Most of her childhood involved Delphine sitting in an empty room with history books and worksheets. This eventually caused her current need to be around and be friends with people as well as the wish to travel all over the world, she craves the affection and fun that comes with friends that she missed out on as a child and the adventure of journeying all over. And now, being free of Reim and her families customs, she has the opportunity to make as many friends as she wants.
