I can't find it anymore but the other day someone posted in r/vns asking for otome games that are "like Clannad" but when they elaborated on what they were looking for/what otome games they played, it just didn't make any sense like I couldn't figure out what Clannad had to do with any of it.

Like if someone says they want something that's like Clannad I'm gonna assume they mean a nakige or maybe specifically a nakige with a high school setting lol. There are otome games that most ppl consider nakige but they don't really have any similarities with Clannad, they don't take place in high school and they don't really explore the same themes.

EDIT: ok NVM I found the post and I was misremembering, OP wasn't specifically looking for otome games just any VN with a female MC but they did say they'd been playing some otome games and were unsatisfied. But I still don't know what they mean by "like Clannad" based on their post and replies to the comments
