Regarding what may happen with Ramb in 6 or 7, I think it ultimately comes down to how ERAM’s comeback takes place. With Pink’s dialogue about “someone who owned a whole pack of cats,” the odds of ERAM relevance have never been higher imo. And with its relevancy raising, so does the rest of the Sword Route and, of course Ramb!
And while Pink’s fight does sorta…already do a lot of the ideas I though a Wer-ERAMB fight would play with, the fact that she specifically had a *happy* outcome still gives me hope that WerERAMB would explore a similar relationship that we have with Kris on Side B.
I still think, even with the likelihood of Seam getting a fight, that Ramb’s fight would be handled similarly to a “secret boss” considering its only on the Sword Route that he got kidnapped.
STAY STRONG RAMB NATION, STAY STRONG!
I always think back to my first idea about a potential Ramb Battle and what it could mean as a parallel to Kris's situation;
Ramb is a plugboy, a darkner literally built to be mind controlled and puppeted. No matter how it happens he's going to be in a situation that's similar to Kris
Spamton was here to explain the concept of having strings controlling you and obviously wanting to be free of them,
Ramb could be here to explain why the strings are there in the first place.
why someone would make the self destructive decision to give up their autonomy and be controlled by someone/something else, even though it could very well use them to cause harm...
Not belonging, having no friends for the longest time, being the weird jokester who ends up hurting people when they were just fooling around as they'd always be, even guilt over their actions-
It could all make a person give up on themselves because they think whatever they are is just rotten, not worth being, not useful to anyone. The feeling of "anyone could live my life better than me", wanting to be of use and be good no matter the price you have to pay for it... like not caring you're turning to stone so long as your lightner is having fun.
Basically, the reason behind Kris's situation and the themes it brings up are what I personally believe a Ramb fight will tackle and play with. Maybe the relationship between the controlled and controller will get explored within it too... the theme will have to be present, there's always a person behind a werewire... The specifics remain to be seen!
There's another part to this that I'm a bit too shy to go into publicly (mostly cus I'd still like to distance myself from the fandom a little) but it has to do with Ramb representing Kris's memory
(Ramb/Romb = RAM/ROM, like "Random Access Memory" and "Read Only Memory", also Ramb's association with the track "dump", like a ROM dump.)
And how Kris represses their memories especially of their trauma... And Ramb being forgetten by his dark world and intentionally written to be overlooked by the players... But again, not sure making this take public is a good idea lol.
Also I've never been big on eram importance... eram is not a character, it's the shadow mantle. The shadow mantle's HOLDER however, like the one talking to Kris throughout the mantle game as the shadow mantle, the actual person fighting us, is absolutely relevant and important. But that's just semantics I got what you meant lol...
I've been toying with the idea that they're also the owner of the friend cat hunting pack, since they summon friends during the fight, but it's all still too vague for me to make any concrete conclusions
but Ramb's gonna need someone to push him into giving up his autonomy, just like someone made Kris go along with this plan... Made them make a promise...
It's a very fun concept :]
Will it be weird route exclusive? Will Ramb be a secret boss or a normal unavoidable one? Whos to say really. I don't have a preference, every option has a ton of narrative potential, so I'm just excited. but I'm glad we all agree that something will happen, regardless of how :]
Also... Who says it all has to happen in chapters 6 or 7? Those aren't our only options... >:]
